I suggested this in the Raikou analysis, but it was too late and the analysis was put up already. Resubmitting it now.
[SET]
name: Hail Abuse
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Aura Sphere
move 4: Weather Ball
item: Life Orb / Leftovers
ability: Pressure
nature: Rash
evs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
· A powerful set that not many people expect
· With Hail Support from Abomasnow, Raikou achieves perfect coverage with these three moves
· Excellent CM Hail Sweeper
· Destroys Ferro + Jellicent cores
· If weather is changed, Weather Ball is still effective. Eg, In sun, it can hit their chlorophyll sweepers, in rain it gives Raikou a stronger attack than T-Bolt
· Can outspeed and OHKO all non-scarfed Politoed and T-Tar with +1 T-Bolt and Aura Sphere, respectively, assuming Rocks are up.
· Just find some set-up fodder, such as a Bulky Water and CM once
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
· EVs are simple. Max SpA, max speed with Rash Nature hits 329 speed, outspeeding positive nature base 100 pokemon by 1 point
· Unfortunately, Timid is not available because it’s a Gen 4 Event Raikou
· Abomasnow support for infinite hail to make Weather Ball Ice-Type
· Rocks support recommended to let LO Raikou OHKO Specially Defensive T-Tar with Aura Sphere
· If using LO, a wish supporter is recommended, since, in hail, Raikou will be losing 16% of its HP each turn that it attacks
· Gastrodon mostly walls this set, +1 Ice Weather Ball does about 35%, team mates to take care of it are recommended
· Faster threats like Latios, Terrakion, Starmie, etc should be removed before attempting to sweep. Scizor OHKOs Terrakion, can revenge Latios, while Ferrothorn or Celebi can easily deal with Starmie. Celebi also covers Raikou’s Ground weakness and can use T-Wave to paralyse faster threats that can hinder Raikou’s sweep
· Specially Defensive walls like Jirachi and Blissey are also problematic; +1 Aura Sphere only manages a 3HKO on Blissey and T-Bolt only a 3HKO on Rachi.
