- raikou utilizes its decent speed tier, high special attack, and access to weather ball to benefit from red orb
- raikou's high special attack and stab coverage after undergoing primal reversion allows it to hit most foes for heavy damage
- an electric / fire typing lets raikou threaten more foes like non-blue orb magearna, buzzwole, metagross, and necrozma-dm
- defensively, raikou's typing allows it to come in against most fairy-type foes like altarianite entei more easily
- its typing leaves it more susceptible to common threats that run ground or rock coverage like zygarde, primal groudon, terrakion, and golisopod
- raikou's viability mostly comes from red orb + weather ball, but weather ball is and event-only move, which means raikou is forced to run a rash nature
- raikou's speed tier, while decent, is still kind of slow for an offensive pokemon and causes it to get forced out by other pokemon easily
- raikou cannot do much to specially bulky foes like blissey except switch out
