Rain also works below OU

Hi! That's my second RTM, my first in UU. I'm going with a Semi-Rain Team, that I maked for my own. I reached the 1600 (pretty good taking in account that I'm kind of noobish), but I always stop there. Well, here it goes:

Kingdra @ Choice Specs
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
- Surf

This is the main sweeper, it can open up holes in most teams, specially ofenssive ones. Hydro Pump is the main tool, being so destructive with STAB + Rain. Draco Meteor KOes foes that 4x resist Hydro Pump, especially opposite Kingdra. Ice beam for dragons, and Surf if I need an accuracy alternative to Surf.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 52 SAtk / 204 Spd
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- U-turn

ScarfGon, a classic of classics. Outrage + Earthquake is nearly-perfect coverage. U-turn is always useful in a Choice user, and Fire Blast kills physical walls. The EVs allow him to outspeed Rock Polish Rampardos, and I decided that after one destroyed this team.

Swampert @ Choice Band
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 208 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Superpower

That completes the Anti-Raikou combo, and also benefits for the rain. Waterfall is almost as powerful as Kingdra's Hydro Pump, also destroying entire teams with just it. Earthquake is for a second STAB, Ice Punch for Grass- and Dragon-Types and Superpower for Porygon2 and Snorlax. The EVs are for tank hits and outspeeding base 60 Speed Pokémon that doesn't invest.

Nidoqueen (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Dragon Tail
- Ice Beam

Both phazer, SR setter and Fighting- and Electric-Types counter. Sets up SR, tanks some hits and phazes. The other attacks are for doing some damage to Pokémon like Flygon and Rhyperior.

Volbeat (M) @ Damp Rock
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Encore
- Baton Pass
- Rain Dance

Here is it, the rain inducer. I choosed it over Tornadus 'cause Tornadus doesn't get T-Wave, Encore and Baton Pass. With that invest, can tank some weak special hits good, as well as some resisted physical ones.

Hitmontop (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Careful Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Sucker Punch
- Close Combat

And to end the team, a spinner. You may think that this team doesn't need, because Volbeat is the only one with a SR weakness (and most of the 'mons resist it), but is always useful spin away those pesky Spikes. Close Combat to do some damage, Toxic to wear down Froslass, and Sucker Punch for some Ghost-Types. With those EVs and Nature combined with Intimidate, it can tank hits from both sides of the spectrum.

There it is. Please rate it educately, without bad words. Thank you :)

One major problem I see with this team is that, for a rain team, you only have one rain dance user. Also, volbeat is greatly outclassed as a rain setter by tornadus, sableye, bronzong, and whimsicott even. At the same time, you really only have 2 guys that benefit from the rain; kingdra and swampert, although swampert doesn't even really get any significant use out of it outside of a boosted waterfall.

Another thing is that you gave flygon fire blast which is kinda counterintuitive if you want the rain up.

Overall this team looks like a half rain team. If you wanna use rain in UU, you gotta go all out, kabutops, ludicolo, raikou, other swift swimmers, etc. or not use it at all, your choice.

Alright, I don't think you have to ditch the rain completely, but what I think you should do with this team is have the rain be an element of surprise. Like previously stated, this isn't a full out rain team, making it very possible to trick your opponent into thinking there's no weather at all. Here are my suggestions:

Volbeats gotta go. When I see volbeat, I immediately think weather because I never see tailpass teams in UU. I think a better rain setter would be Bronzong. Although that might seem weird at first, Bronzong actually has excellent synergy with
rain, basically giving it the heatproof buff that levitate variations miss out on. However, if you don't want to use Bronzong, Whimsicott would be the better option than Volbeat as it has access to both Taunt and Encore.

Your Kingdra seems weird to me. Life Orb Rain boosted Hydro Pump is enough to kill basically anything neutral to it besides a dedicated special wall, or a resist. Same goes with Draco Meteor. I suggest you ditch the choice specs. It also worries me that you have no dedicated sweepers that have the freedom to pick their moves. Also, there's a grand total of 2 dragons in UU so I'd put Rain Dance in Ice Beams place.

With Kingdra already running Swift Swim, the need for ScarfGon dwindles. I recommend running Choice Band instead. This will give you the power that Flygon really needs to truly shine. BandGon should be able to break through whatever Pokemon dare try to wall Kingdra with great ease.

It also should be noted that this team lacks recovery or checks for statuses. For example, you have two physical choice Pokemon and no real beneficial say to defend yourself against a burn. Kingdra could in theory take the burn, but the residual damage is something it will not appreciate. I understand the need for rapid spin support on a team this choice heavy, but I really think Cleric Umbreon should take Hitmontops place.

OK, I listened to you, but first of all, Whimsicott doesn't get Rain Dance. I learned it today. Then I put a Bronzong like this:

Bronzong@Damp Rock
Trait: Levitate
252 EVs HP / 128 EVs Def / 128 EVs SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
-Gyro Ball
-Earthquake
-Gravity
-Rain Dance

Gyro Ball gets benefited by the Sassy nature and the 0 EVs plus STAB. Earthquake for Nidoqueen, Nidoking and others. Gravity because I alredy have Stealth Rock user (Nidoqueen) and it helps Kingdra's Hydro Pump. And of course, Rain Dance.

Plus that, I put a BandGon:

Flygon@Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
252 EVs Att / 252 EVs Spe / 4 EVs SpD
Jolly Nature
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-U-turn
-Thunderpunch

Outrage + Earthquake as STAB, and it gets good coverage. u-turn is useful, and Thunderpunch for Bulky Waters.

And Cleric Umbreon:

Umbreon@Leftovers
Trait: Sinchronize
252 EVs HP / 252 EVs Def / 4 EVs SpD
Bold Nature
-Wish
-Protect
-Heal Bell
-Toxic

Supports with Wish and Protect, stalls with Toxic too and gets rid of statuses. Max Defense to tank physical hits.

That bronzong looks a little iffy. Setting up rain dance is enough without having to worry about Gravity too. I'd change Gravity for Toxic. Also, your EVs seem kind of random. Is there a specific reason for 128/128 or were you just evening it out? I'd suggest a fullly Defensive set to have synergy with umbreon.

I alredy have Toxic in Umbreon. And in the EVs, yeah, you're right. I better put all in SpD to have synergy with Umbreon. OK, but I forget to put the new Kingdra:

Kingdra@Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SAtt / 252 Spe / 252 SDef
Modest Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Dragon Pulse
-Surf
-Rain Dance

Hey there! I currently am fond of your newly edited team (assuming the sets are permanent) But a few things:

Replace Toxic on your Umbreon to Foul Play. It won't be Taunt bait anymore, and can possibly deal some nifty damage on switchins with high attack.

Also, make Umbreon Specially defensive, and Bronzong Physically Defensive. Umbreon has notably greater Special Defense than Defense, (110 base defense to 130 base special defense is a 20 base stat difference) and Bronzong is typically used as a physically defensive 'mon, due to it's only weakness being fire, typically a special move. (although arguable, a physically def Bronzong + Special def Umbreon is better than both being focused on special defense)

Then, replace Gravity with Toxic on your Bronzong. Gravity + Rain Dance is too pressuring for one measly Bronzong to set up.

As for Band Flygon, I'd say replace Thunderpunch with Stone Edge for Flying types trying to come in on an EQ, Superpower for Porygon2 and Snorlax, or Fire Punch for Roserade/Virizion/etc. For most bulky waters, you'll want to either U-turn out or spam Outrage; Thunderpunch won't help very much, especially since they can generally just tank it and come back with Ice Beam. (EDIT: Doing simple mental math, super effective Tpunch comes at 150 base power, while STAB outrage neutral comes out at 180. So Tpunch is only hitting Empoleon more effectively, who is already taken care of by EQ)

These are all a tad nit-picky; despite that, I hope I helped!
