This set takes advantage of Zapdos's incredibly powerful dual STAB combination in Thunder and Hurricane, which hits the vast majority of the metagame neutrally. Thunder is used over Thunderbolt because it never misses in the rain Zapdos combines its STAB moves with Weather Ball, which hits Heatran and Landorus-T super effectively and Zeraora and Tapu Koko neutrally, to have an incredibly threatening offensive presence. It doesn't just rely on its incredible wallbreaking power alone, however; with its great typing and ability, it can switch into Choice Scarf Kartana, Rillaboom, and Melmetal, threatening to paralyze them with Static and also OHKO the first two with Hurricane. This set takes advantage of Zapdos's incredibly powerful, fully accurate dual STAB combination in Thunder and Hurricane, hitting the vast majority of the metagame neutrally. (be clear in rain otherwise they arent outside of it.) It combines this with Weather Ball, a way to hit Heatran super effectively and Zeraora and Tapu Koko neutrally, to have an incredibly threatening offensive presence. It doesn't just rely on its incredible wallbreaking power alone, however; with its great typing and ability, it can switch into Choice Scarf Kartana, Rillaboom, and Melmetal, threatening to paralyze them with Static and also threatening to OHKO the first two with Hurricane. Zapdos specializes against the defensive Water-types that rain teams can otherwise struggle with, such as Slowbro, Slowking Tapu Fini, and Toxapex, (reorder this to pex, slowbro, and fini) and is unique in that it is an Electric-type attacker that has a great matchup against Grass-types like Rillaboom, Kartana, and Ferrothorn. Make sure to get the most out of Zapdos by getting it in on passive defensive Pokemon that it threatens like Corviknight and Toxapex.

It combines this with Weather Ball, a way to hit Heatran lando also relevant super effectively and say like electric-types such as zera/koko i think that would be good Zeraora and Tapu Koko neutrally, to have an incredibly threatening offensive presence.
