SM UU Rain Dance Offense Team

I made this team because I thought it'd be fun to try make a UU Rain Dance team. Especially since in UU, there's no Ferrothorn to counter LO Kingdra (since Ferro is OU), and no Mega Venusaur to just generally cause problems (since Mega Venusaur is also OU). But 2 big problems are that Drizzle Politoed and Pelliper are banned from UU... So it causes a huge reliance on Damp Rock + Rain Dance to work... Anyway, so without further adieu, here is the team:

Sciznik (Scizor) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 128 Atk / 132 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Rain Dance
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Defog

With Rain Dance active, he only has 1, 2x weakness to one type of attack - Fire. Which is a big thing considering the weakness is usually 4x. He has minimum speed so he goes last, so that he can set up RD, then a slow pivotal U-Turn can switch over to LO DD Kingdra (shown below), Hurricane Tornadus, or Mega Sharpedo for some hugely-powered sweeping action. Defog is one of the moves as my last resort against entry hazard stacking teams, so I just dont get owned purely by the stacking. Rain Dance plus Damp Rock allows RD to be in effect for 8 turns rather than 5. Finally, Bullet Punch bypasses his low speed and gives him a speedy offensive move. It also has the benefit of dealing quite well with most fairies, the biggest one being Clefable.

Maelstrom (Kingdra) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 24 SpA / 152 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Waterfall
- Outrage
- Surf
- Dragon Dance

One of the huge hitters on this team. I used a unique set to make him even more difficult to counter. LO + DD + RD + Waterfall deals HUGE damage when all set up, and Kingdra's defensive typing more often than not allows me to set up a Dragon Dance, usually against a predicted switch or against another attack, just purely tanking it. It should be noted that LO Waterfall, with RD in play and having used DD, is almost 3x the original damage!!! Surf is to give him offensive presence on the special side, dealing fantastically with Forretress and the like. Thankfully, as well, Whimsicott is RU for now, which would otherwise wall this set quite easily. But since Whimsicott is RU, this Kingdra is a HUGE threat for a lot of teams, especially considering his decent bulk with the HP investment and typing, and maximum attack plus some Special Attack Surf boosted by Rain. Swift Swim obviously for the 2x speed increase in Rain, 252 attack EVs for max Waterfall and Outrage power, and 152 Speed EVs to outspeed up to Choice Scarf Hydreigon.

Cycloner (Tornadus) @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast

A huge hitter. Most of the time I'm just purely spamming STAB 110 BP Hurricanes with perfect accuracy in the Rain. But Focus Blast is hugely useful against mons like especially Bisharp. HP Ice is for Gliscor, as he can get rid of this Tornadus with Stone Edge after tanking even a Supersonic Skystrike. Flynium Z for a Supersonic Skystrike to deal more damage to the likes of Wish Sylveon or to securely net KOs against mons like SD Scizor after Stealth Rock damage. Sludge Wave is just another move to deal lots of damage to fairies like Clefable and Azumarill. Max speed and max SpA EVs for obvious reasons.

Livewire (Rotom-Mow) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Rain Dance
- Thunder
- Leaf Storm
- Volt Switch

Another Damp Rock Rain Dance user. He has Thunder, which has perfect accuracy in Rain. Minimum speed with Quiet nature so he can get a Volt Switch off last in the turn and switch directly into Kingdra, Tornadus or Sharpedo. Leaf Storm to get rid of Hippowdon, Gastrodon etc... Pretty self explanatory.

Great White Shark (Sharpedo-Mega) @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs
mega_sharpedo_art.png

Another sweeper for the team. Works like any ordinary Mega Sharpedo for any UU team, but has 1.5x extra power on Waterfall with Rain Dance in effect. Psychic Fangs for Chesnaught, Amoonguss and Venusaur, boosted by Strong Jaw. Crunch + Strong Jaw is quite devastating too, just like it is on any Mega Sharpedo... Speed Boost + Protect... Not much else to say...

Pure (Mew) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rain Dance
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock
- Shadow Claw
250px-151Mew.png

The last Damp Rock Rain Dance user of the team. Counters Starmie for me with Knock Off + Shadow Claw + SpD EV investment + Careful nature. Stealth Rock for assistance for the sweepers, especially to remove Sturdy from Forretress so mons like Kingdra can KO it with Surf, or Tornadus can KO it with Supersonic Skystrike. He doesnt have speed reduction like the other sweepers so he can Knock Off a lot of slower mons' items.

In general, the idea of the Damp Rock RD setters is to both set up 8 turn Rain Dance and deal as much havoc as possible until they are KOed or U-turn/Volt Switch out, in the case of Scizor and Rotom-W. My revenge killer is Scizor with BP, and Kingdra in Rain + Mega Sharpedo in general are great revenge killers too.

The biggest problem I'm having with this team is needing to sacrifice half of my team usually to make it work. but having said that, once Kingdra, Tornadus and Mega Sharpedo are in play, they cause huge damage to the other team if played right. So one thing I guess I'm considering is making an OU rain team with Drizzle + Damp Rock Pelliper... It becomes a bit difficult to use this team since the Drizzle Users are all banned from UU... but I've had a lot of success with this team, as well as bad losses, so I dunno how viable this team really is...

Any comments and improvements are appreciated, so please leave them for me :)

Be well!

Update: The team is now this after the user sharkmafia offered his improvements:

Scripture (Kabutops) @ Lum Berry

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet
- Swords Dance

Maelstrom (Kingdra) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 104 SpA / 152 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Waterfall
- Outrage
- Hydro Pump
- Draco Meteor

Cycloner (Tornadus) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Prankster
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Rain Dance
- Taunt
- Focus Blast

Livewire (Rotom-Mow) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 114 SpA / 100 SpD / 46 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rain Dance
- Thunder
- Leaf Storm
- Volt Switch

Power Within (Keldeo-Resolute) @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
- Hidden Power [Electric]

Sciznik (Scizor) @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Atk / 124 Def
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn

Biggest 2 changes were Kabutops and Keldeo over Sharpedo and Mew.

Lemme know also what you guys think please

it's a nice team! but some more changes can be made.. such as;
  • fully special kingdra
Kingdra @ Life Orb / Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric] / Hidden Power [Grass] / Scald

This set allows Kingdra to hit harder then your current mixed set which gives it more opportunity to sweep.

  • band scizor over defensive defog, and adding a different defogger over tornadus, or not having one at all (your team isn't that weak to hazards and wants to be offensive)
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Scizor compliments Kingdra almost perfectly, taking down all of the SpD walls that can take Kingdra on. It also has the added benefit of giving you strong priority & momentum.
