I'm baaack~
This is a sort of/not really update of a Rain team I posted here several months ago, similar because it's still Rain, but different because I drastically altered the way it functions (well, that's the plan, anyway).
I loathe intros, so let's move on.
Jirachi @ Damp Rock
Serene Grace
242 HP/56 Atk/212 Def
Impish
- Zen Headbutt
- Thunder
- Wish
- Rain Dance
Really the kick-off point for remaking the whole team--I used to use Bronzong for my Rain Dancing needs, but it was just too slow and predictable, since every Bronzong and their grandmother uses support moves. Jirachi's at least fast enough to do stuff. Rain Dance + Damp Rock = 8 turns to rampage. Thunder to abuse perfect accuracy and Serene Grace's 60% paralysis chance, Zen Headbutt for flinchax in tandem with said paralysis. Wish is there for team healing, but I'm open to other options. U-Turn is something I've been considering, but idk what I would take out for it.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
242 HP/56 SAtk/212 SDef
Calm
- Psychic
- Leech Seed
- Calm Mind
- Substitute
Pretty random Poke pulled from the general vicinity of my ass, really just some defense that's helped by rain (in this case, nulling the Fire weak). SubSeeding = sex, Grass Knot for damage, and Heal Bell for no reason whatsoever. The most disposable member of the team. Anything is probably better than this thing, here.
PRE-EMPTIVE EDIT: After a few more matches, it's clear that my team hates, loathes, and despises status, so Heal Bell isn't totally useless. Still want something better, though.
'NOTHER EDIT: Removed Heal Bell for Calm Mind. (EDIT OF AN EDIT: And Grass Knot for Psychic.)
Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Motor Drive
252 Atk/178 Spd/80 SAtk
Lonely
- Thunder
- Earthquake
- Cross Chop
- Ice Punch
Mostly a holdover from my earlier version of the team, where I had several Electric weaks (now, it's only one). Still works on occasion--it won the game for me once by EQing a TTar (both final Pokes). Also my most reliable way to take down Blissey, which is kind of sad when you think about it. IMO, Vire's hard to use because he depends on surprise in order to take advantage of Motor Drive, and I don't like spoiling it too early, which leads to me never using the damn thing. <_<
Ludicolo (M) @ Leftovers
Swift Swim
154 HP/104 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest
- Surf
- Grass Knot
- Ice Beam
- Rain Dance
Formerly a StallColo with RD/Seed/Protect/Ice Beam w/ Rain Dish, now a special sweeper in rain. This and the next two Pokemon form my main sweeping force, and all three of them carry Rain Dance for self-sufficiency purposes. I tried to keep the type coverage on them from overlapping as much as possible. Ludicolo's biggest problem is Blissey, and no Leech Seed after being used to having it is trying at times. I may change it back to StallColo if sweeping doesn't work out.
Kingdra (M) @ Mystic Water
Swift Swim
252 Atk/88 Spd/168 SAtk
Rash
- Waterfall
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
- Rain Dance
It just rapes while it's raining. Waterfall does a number to pretty much anything, Ice Beam takes care of Dragons and is guaranteed to outspeed in the rain iirc, and Draco Meteor is a nice parting gift if I know I'm going down. I dislike the SpAtk loss, though. Standard afaik, but I may change the nature/EVs later, as I can't remember what they accomplish atm.
Kabutops (M) @ Life Orb
Swift Swim
26 HP/252 Atk/232 Spd
Adamant
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- X-Scissor
- Rain Dance
Ludicolo's special, Kingdra's mixed, and Kabutops is physical. I'm running out of stuff to say here, so I'll make this short and sweet: this thing is <censored> strong. That is all.
Okay, hyper-offensive Rain Dance team is GO! *anime-style fist pump* I want to keep the "core" of 3-ish Rain-boosted sweepers if at all possible, but everyone else is fair game (Celebi, Electivire, and Jirachi, in that order). Comments, criticism, suggestions, replacements, etc. are more than welcome. ^_^
