Rain Eruption
Hello, this is the start to my second week in competitive battling. If you have seen my other team, you would know that I have not played pokemon for over 3 years. This new dependency on weather for some teams was pretty confusing to me at first, as before weather was just a change in background for me when I played Ruby/Sapphire. After facing a lot of these weather teams I decided that I should just go ahead and create one on my own, and I decided upon rain. This team does not really have a base pokemon, it is more starting with politoed and adding in stuff to cover weaknesses and provide damage of my own.

In Depth

politoed.jpg

Politoed (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hypnosis
- Focus Blast

This is just my weather inducer, and I have choice specced it so that it can deal as much damage as possible, since it is my only hydro pump abuser. Ice beam is to deal with any possible dragon types, and hypnosis is to put to sleep any pokemon that may cause me trouble with the rest of my team. Focus blast is for pokemon like Tyranitar, who would get KO'd by it due to its 4x weakness.

ode_to_keldeo_by_rainbowgal-d5uwolf.png

Keldeo-Resolute @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Ghost]

Keldeo is simply a beast, almost nothing can take a hit from that Hydro Pump STAB in rain unless they have x4 resistance, especially with extra Life Orb and a Calm Mind in place. This thing can sweep through any team so easily it is terrifying.

pokebio_wobbuffet.png

Wobbuffet @ Leftovers
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Counter
- Destiny Bond
- Mirror Coat
- Encore

Dat HP. Wobbuffet is simply an amazing trapper. I use Wobbuffet to trap opposing weather inducers and remove them from the equation so that Wobbuffet is able to deal a maximum amount of damage. EV spread minimizes damage from both physical and special attacks with full HP investment. Destiny bond is for anyone that tries to put status on me, as Wobbuffet is one of those pokemon who can be sacrificed for the greater good.

pokemon___breloom_by_lalunatique-d30cufx.png

Breloom @ Focus Sash
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Spore
- Swords Dance

Breloom deals with other rain teams through powerful bullet seeds, and can set up with swords dance to deal massive damage with mach punch. This is an essential part of my team as it revenge kills many pokemon with its powerful priority mach.

Jirachi-legendary-pokemon-7313208-300-300.jpg
images

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SAtk / 224 HP / 32 Spd
Mild Nature
- Iron Head
- Thunder
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind

Jirachi is a beast once it has set up a single calm mind. Iron head is added to its movepool to deal with many threats, as that flinch is just WOW. Thunder has a high paralysis chance with serene grace and helps to take care of many threats. Psyshock is a powerful STAB move that puts a hole in anything that doesn't resist it.

heatran.jpg

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Dragon Pulse

Heatran was put here simply to deal with dragons and other steel types, who can be threatening to my team if they get set up. Heatran is also my only pokemon that can set up entry hazards, in the form of SR.
