Hey, I'm SilkScarfGroudon and I'm posting my first Gen 8 team here to be rated, and it is a Rain Team, one of my favorite types of team.
The Team
Movesets, IVs and EVs
The Team
Movesets, IVs and EVs
Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Roost
- U-turn
- Knock Off
Ever since gen 7 Pelipper has been the best choice for rain teams and it still is in this generation, in fact, is the only pokemon with drizzle in the Galar Dex, so it would be of course the main choice. Pelipper offers great utility and brings the team to its maximum by offering support and rain. Scald is in the set to cripple physical attackers and check fire types, roost keeps pelipper alive during the game and removes some weakness if pelipper manages to outspeed the opponent, U-turn brings in safely its teammates to abuse the rain and cause massive damage and Knock Off is mostly for utility, like remoing a leftovers from a substitute mon or the eviolite from galarian corsola.
Barraskewda @ Choice Band
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Liquidation
- Poison Jab
- Close Combat
- Crunch
Barraskewda is probably the best rainn abuser in the generation with a great attack and speed alongside the swift swim abilty. Almost nothing is able to outspeed barraskewda under the rain or resist its banded liquidation. Liquidation is barraskewda's main stab and what it is mostly spamming, Poison Jab takes care of grass types that try to get in barraskewda's way, Close Combat takes care of Hydreigons running in the tier and Crunch is great for dealing with Dragapult, wich resists or is immune to barraskewda's three other attacks.
Dracovish @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fishious Rend
- Earthquake
- Low Kick
- Leech Life
We all know Dracovish well and how powerfull this thing is. Dracovish is something to fear, mainly with it's 382.5 bp Fishious Rend boosted by rain and a very big chance of attacking first since it has a choice scarf, the other attacks it carries are ok too but Fishious Rend is what it is spamming. Fishious Rend as already said is Dracovish's main attack and what you click most of the time, Earthquake is in the set because is just a great move overall and helps with coverage, Low Kick helps deal with Ferrothorn and Leech Life is here just to recover some HP when possible.
Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Power Whip
- Liquidation
After years in the lower tiers training for this moment, Seismitoad finally enters the OU gang and with style. Seismitoad is the Hazard Setter of the team and a check to opposing dracovish, but normally perfomes offensive duty instead of laying the rocks or checking things, but it doesn't care. Stealth Rocks is the team's only hazard but isn't always nescessary, Earthquake is one of Seismitoad's incredible attacks that can 2HKO Aegislash, Power Whip is here mainly to counter Rotom-W and Liquidation is another great move to use to hit things really hard.
Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Giga Drain
- Focus Blast
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
Ludicolo come in with vengeance from Gen 5 where it was banned from using Swif Swim in the same team with Drizzle. Ludicolo is here to fill the roll of a Hard Hitting Special Attacker using a life orb to hit even harder. Giga Drain is here to recover HP lost from the Life Orb and is the Grass stab for Ludicolo, Focus Blast deals with Ferrothorns that may try to stop this rampaging duck, Ice Beam is here to hit dragons and other grass types and Hydro Pump is Ludicolo's main attack to destroy everything that doesn't resist or has a gargantuous Special Deffense.
Darmanitan-Galar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Gorilla Tactics
Happiness: 160
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Superpower
Galarian Darmanitan is the monster we all know and fear and is one of the strongest pokemon this generation, but in my team he is just a backup scarfer, so it doesn't see much action, but when it sees action it is to destroy. The moveset is very generic wih U-Turn for momentum, Earthquake for fire, rock and steel types, Icicle Crash is Darmanitan's main stab and what you click most of the time and the last but not least is Superpower for dealing with mainly Ferrothorn, Flare Blitz would be better ut it's a rain team so a fire type attack isn't that good of a option.
Hope you enjoyed the team because I sure did and as always sorry for any thing misspelled.
