Rain Tactics: Doubles Edition

This team is meant for 4 vs 4 created with Pokemon Showdown Rules in mind

A Doubles Rain Team whose main Purpose is to Barrage the Opponent with nothing but Surf with the help of Rain. It also only Runs two Pokemon Weak to Thunder inorder to avoid Electric Weakness and is built, as well as act like constant tanks thanks to being Surf Resistant and HP Recovery in the form of Water Absorb and Dry Skin.

The Leads

Lead Pokemon #1

Nature: Adamant
Item: Focus Sash
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP/252 Attack/ 252 Speed
Moveset: Substitute/ Focus Punch/ Feint/ Fake Out
The Increadible Frog Pokemon that I'm breeding for this Months SBP and this is why. Probably the Best Anti-Exploder if you can predict with Feint, it can ruin many teams that lead with Booms unless their partner happens to be Ghost, as well ensures that you will be making a hit with your other Pokemon. Fake Out is self-explanitory and the reason that 252 Speed is ran on this set, so it will be able to outspeed other Fake Out or +1 Priority Move Users. Subtitute over Protect for two reasons the main one being that with Dry Skin, Toxicroak will be regaining 37.5% of his HP every Turn thanks to Rain and Surf allowing for constant protection and notably it also means that it can run Focus Punch more Effectively since they will want to Double Target the Frog over your other pokemon if they want to break the Sub, the only real counter being Double Exploding Pokemon, Zapdos/Rotom + Ground Earthquake User, and Multiple Hit moves which are seldomly seen in Singles or OU unless your Hitmontop.
Word of Caution is that by Running FP, this set becomes walled completely by ghost but if you run Poison Jab, then it becomes walled by steels, while running Sucker Punch means that your Opponent must be attacking to get a hit. If you want you can replace FP for another move but it has it's costs and merits.

Lead Pokemon#2:
dpmfa272.png

Nature: Timid
Item: Wet Rock/Lum Berry
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 248 HP/88 Speed/ 168 Sp.Attack
Moveset: Surf/Ice Beam/ Rain Dance/Fake Out
High Enough IVs and EVs to outspeed Choice Scarf and Salac Variations of Smeargle after Rain Dance, Max HP to make sure you can get hit on both ends of the spectrum. Fake Out can be used to let another pokemon set up . Surf to ruin possible combos that rely on not being hit, such as Follow Me+Focus Punch, it also heals half my Team and is the main choice of attack. Ice Beam for coverage, especially other Grass and Flying Types, it also helps immensely in PBR Wi-Fi against the Common Rayquaza. Both Lum and Damp Rock are Excellent Items to run on this set but with the fast pace of 4vs4 and PBR Dark Void abuse, Lum Berry gets more milage on the Duck ;)

Pokemon #3
dpffb026.png

Item: Choice Scarf
IVs: 4 / 8 / 7 / 30 / 30 / 30
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 252 Speed
Moveset: HP Fighting 68 / Surf/ Thunder/ Grass Knot
Suprise, Suprise, a Surfing Pika and with Good IVs no doubt. This is my own Hardy Pikachu and the inspiration which caused this team to come into being. Being Hardy, it faces quite a few problems such as being outspeed by other Base 90 Pokemon and not hittting hard enough. The Solution of this Problem is Choice Scarf and Rain, which not only Doubles Raichu's Unexpected Surf but makes his Thunder Nevermiss which is always a plus. Grass Knot is here to take out any Water/Ground users that you might run into, effectively OHKOing them and HP Fighting hits Ice Types, although Thunder in most cases will do a better job, but more importantly it hits Weavile for 4x Damage, one of the faster Fake Out/Taunt users and Physical Sweepers of Doubles.

Pokemon #4

dpmfa062.png

Nature: Adamant
Item: Damp Rock/Splash Plate
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP/252 Attack/4 Speed
Moveset: Helping Hand/Rain Dance/Brick Break/Waterfall
The Physical Counterpart of Vaporeon, this set offers suprise in the form of Helping Hand, giving you the edge of Suprise as most will expect Hypnosis and will set up their next move accordingly to avoid it. Waterfall and Brick Break are there for Stab as while Rain Dance is there for when the skys are cleared. While it can't take any of Metagross Psychic Attacks, it can take it's Steel Attackas such as Bullet Punch or Meteor Mash as well as Earthquake, something Toxicroak can't. Items are completely up to preferance but Splash Plate turns Waterfall into a 312 Base Power Attack under the Rain thanks to Stab.

The Back-Up

Pokemon #5
dpmfa134.png

Nature: Bold
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Def / 68 SpA
Movest: Helping Hand/Rain Dance/ Surf/ Hidden Power Electric 60+
The Second Rain Dancer and Surfer, Helping Hand is help your Team-mates and with the Constant Barrage of Surfs on the Field, you will be constantly healed from your Life Orb Damage. The Second Rain Dancer of the team and only wish user, it provides support to both Ludi and Raichu who don't have any means of Recovery and Boosts in Power and Speed in the Duck's Case. Thanks to Counter and the Defensive Investment of this Set, it garrantees that you will be able to pull of Counter agaisnt common threaths like Metagross if they decide to pummel you to death, since at Best a Thunder Punch will only do 77% with Choice Band Support ;)

Pokemon #6
dpmfa230.png

Nature: Modest
Item: Expert Belt
Ability: Swift Swim
IVs: 20+/x/20+/20+/20+/31
EVs: 252 HP/252 Sp.A/ 4 Sp. Def
Moveset: Draco Meteor/Surf/Ice Beam/Signal Beam

Kingdra is Probably the Best Sweeper in the Rain that isn't Uber, being able to take advantage of the Speed Boost plus nice coverage that only makes it weak to Dragon Attacks. Surf is the staple of this team so it's self explanitory while Draco Meteor is there to cover potential problems
such as Latias and and fellow Kingdra as well. Signal Beam may seem like an Odd Choice but it allows you to score at least a 43% on other Ludicolo if they have 31 IVs in HP and SD with 252 HP/4 SE and with support from a team mate in eiher the terms of Surf or Helping Hand, it ensures a 2HKO by Signal Beam. This set must carry a 30 or 31 Speed IV inorder to be able to outspeed other ludicolo that run only enough EVs to outspeed Choice Scarf Smeargles as well as those that run 1 more extra point in speed fellow Ludicolo's.
