ORAS UU Rain Team Soon To Be Unleashed!

Hey! Finally got one of my teams ready. Please rate my Rain Team. This is from showdown and it's my first post technically in this awesome community.
Anyway, let's get on with it!

Purge (Mandibuzz) @ Leftovers
Mandibuzz_XY.gif

Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 240 HP / 216 SpD / 52 Spe
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Knock Off
- Taunt
- Defog

Decided to use one of Smogon's recommended sets. Basically, this is just one of my tanks. Almost maxed out on both HP and Spd for some protection, hopefully if Sushi can slide in some burns, Purge won't have to worry. Roost to help recover her HP after taking all the damage from protecting her dearly teammates. Knock Off is there to remove items such as choice items, berries and etc. STAB damage and as well from not being complete taunt bait. Taunt is to stop those from setting up on you and Defog is here to remove the entry hazards that come to screw you up. Overcoat as her ability in case the opposing team changes the weather.

Sushi (Vaporeon) (F) @ Leftovers
tumblr_mz4dfqcTAo1sjo536o2_250.gif

Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 60 SpA / 196 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Acid Armor
- Shadow Ball
- Rest

My next little sweet heart is Sushi. Her moveset isn't exactly that common that you'd see in other Vaporeon sets. She's another tank basically. Maxed out on HP. Decided to fill up SpD because she needs some special protection and then the rest of the investment in spA for some better damage. Leftovers is here to give her nutrients to heal up her wounds throughout the battle. Scald is here for STAB and a small chance to give the opponent a burn which gives more defense! Guess what!? MORE DEFENSE with Acid Armour. Shadow Ball for some coverage and Rest to revive her up and since she's out in the rain, thanks to her ability it'll wake her up.

Lulu (Politoed) (F) @ Damp Rock
186.gif

Ability: Drizzle
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Protect

Lulu here is my rain setter thanks to her ability, Drizzle. Maxed HP and Defense and a pinch of SpD O boi! Another Tank! Well Staller mixed anyway... Scald to burn physical attackers and make them loose their attack stat and plus STAB. Ice Beam for some coverage. Toxic for poisoning. Protect is for stalling and being a little pest. X3
Damp Rock to make the rain last a bit.

Bolt (Manectric) (M) @ Choice Specs
310.gif

Ability: Lightning Rod
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Signal Beam
- Volt Switch

Bolt is our special attacker. Clinging onto that Choice Specs to do some horrific power and as well making him stuck on one move which I shouldn't be proud about. Maxed out on SpA for him to be powerful, maxed Spe for him to be agile and a bit SpD. Timid nature for more speed. On to the set.
Thunder will always hit in the rain and to go with his electrifying SpA, you'll be sorry...except for "dem grounds". Hidden Power Ice here to hit "dem grounds". Signal Beam for more coverage I'm not sure if I should swap it for Rain Dance. Then we have Volt Switch to do some scouting.

Avalanche (Swampert) (M) @ Swampertite
260.gif

Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Rain Dance

My mega here is Avalanche, the sweeper. He will have Swift Swim as his ability once he mega evolves so he won't need any speed investment as his 60 base speed doubles. 252 HP for lots of health and 252 Atk to break some walls. Waterfall is one of his STAB moves and as well a small chance to flinch. Ice Punch to take out the Grasses who will get in his way. Earthquake is another powerful STAB move. Rain Dance is there in case I don't have Lulu (Politoed) to help me out.

Shade (Haxorus) (M) @ Choice Band
612.png

Ability: Mold Breaker
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
- Dragon Claw

Shade is the Wall Breaker. His Choice Band will sadly lock him up during his destruction. Attack and speed are maxed. Sure, Outrage is powerful but makes him dizzy after being blinded by his rage but it's worth it. Earthquake is coverage and thanks to his ability, he won't care for those who have Levitate. Poison Jab for those annoying faries, Florges won't stand a chance with this big boy. Dragon Claw... Another stab move.

I hope my teams good. I tried my best to think what's best. I think I've might of over done it with the tanks though but I don't know. What's your opinion about my team? I MUST LEARN THROUGH MY MISTAKES-

^Agreed. Also, to be more specific:

Tornadus @ Damp Rock
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 SpA/4 SpD/252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Rain Dance
- Taunt
- Hurricane
- U-turn
Hurticane is a great STAB move that gets an accuracy boost in rain. Alternatively, you could swap U-turn with Focus Blast, but U-turn gives your team more momentum while also being a much more reliable move (Focus Blast can miss), and getting another pokemon in. It also creates a VoltTurn core with Heliolisk. Speaking of which...

Heliolisk @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA/4 SpD/252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Volt Switch
- Hyper Voice
- Surf
- Thunderbolt/Thunder
Heliolisk has slightly more speed and special attack than Manectric. It also has a fantastic ability in Dry Skin, which allows it to not only heal in rain, but switch into water moves. You could use either Grass Knot or Focus Blast over Surf, but Surf gains a power boost in rain. Thunder also gains an accuracy boost in rain and hits harder than Thunderbolt, so take your pick, I suppose.

Actually, instead of Goodra over Vaporeon, I'd consider cleric Sylveon instead. Mega Swampert greatly appreciates the recovery. It can also switch well into fighting type moves for Krookodile and take dark type moves.

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP/4 SpD/252 Def
Nature: Bold
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
Wish can be used on either Sylveon itself or be passed to other teammates for recovery. Protect can be used to scout and get HP back (either by way of Leftovers and/or Wish). Heal Bell heals any status on your team.

Krookodile @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Pursuit
- Superpower
Not much to say about this. Knock Off is STAB with the added bonus of removing an item, Earthquake is STAB, Pursuit is both STAB and punishes pokemon who attempt to switch out, and Superpower is a great coverage move that either OHKOs or hits hard mons like Blissey, Porygon-Z, and Hydreigon. Superpower does lower Def and SpD though, so be careful.

Good luck with your team!

Hey, cool looking rain team! Rain is a pretty underplayed style and it's cool that you're trying to get it work. The first big thing about rain teams is that they should try to have Stealth Rocks (which you don't have) on the field at all times and should never have momentum killers (i.e Vaporeon and Mandibuzz). Adding Heliolisk and Torn are a good start so I definintely think you should implement those. The only gripe I have with the sets are that the Heliolisk should use a Life Orb and not a Scarf, as Choice Scarf is honestly a pretty mediocre item on it and you want the power w/ Life Orb. After implementing those 2, I just have a couple more suggestions
  • First off, I'd recommend using Azelf over Vaporeon as a secondary Rain setter. This will help you start off with a nice Stealth Rock user as well as another fast Rain setter other than Tornadus. Here's the set for it, basically just standard suicide lead Azelf w/ Rain Dance slapped on it
    azelf.gif

    Azelf @ Damp Rock
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Explosion
    - Rain Dance
    - Taunt
    - Stealth Rock

  • Next, I'd recommend using Kabutops over Haxorus and Kingdra over Mandibuzz. Basically, the only rain abuser you had at this point was Mega Swampert, and if you want to use rain in UU you should honestly go full rain. Anyway, Kabutops gives you a very strong physical rain abuser with its unique STAB combo as well as its very high attack stat. Also, Kingdra is by far the best rain abuser anyone can use (besides pert) so I was surprised that it wasn't on this team. Here's the sets, they're pretty basic as well
    kabutops.gif

    Kabutops @ Life Orb
    Ability: Swift Swim
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Swords Dance
    - Waterfall
    - Stone Edge
    - Aqua Jet
    kingdra.gif

    Kingdra @ Life Orb
    Ability: Swift Swim
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Draco Meteor
    - Hydro Pump
    - Scald
    - Dragon Pulse / Ice Beam

  • Lastly, I'd recommend giving your Swampert max speed, the spread you currently have makes it so you don't even outspeed stuff like Mega Sceptile and Mega Aero inside rain u_u
But yeah that's all the recommendations I have for you! Even though it's not even close to the original team anymore x_x, I basically made it so you have a more rain-based and usable team for the UnderUsed tier over what you had at first. Good luck!

Thanks

Thanks a lot. I'll check these out.
Maybe I will put some speed in Swampert. Just a bit though.
Oddly, he out sped a Sceptile but it probably had a different investment.
