Rainy Days

I tried this team out on the ladder. I am a relatively new player so idk how this team would turn out. It peaked around 80 on the ladder and I am looking to improve on it.

Politoed @ Choice Specs
252 hp / 4 def / 252 sp atk
Drizzle | Modest (+sp atk, -atk)
-Hydro Pump
-Hidden Power (grass)
-Focus Blast
-Ice Beam

I wanted a rain team so I needed to start with Politoed. EVs are given to hp to maximize bulk because I prefer rainy weather and the rest go to sp atk so he hits hard. I’m a big Kyogre fan in ubers and I know how hard specs kyogre hits and politoed fills a similar role on this team. Specs Hydro Pump hits like a truck to anything without an immunity or resist. Hidden power grass hits bulky waters such as jellicent trying to wall it. Focus blast nails TTar and any ferrethorn switch hard. Ice beam is a useful coverage move that hits dragons and the genies hard.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
252 hp / 252 def / 4 sp def
Rain Dish | Bold ( +def, -atk)
-Scald
-Toxic Spikes
-Protect
-Rapid Spin

This thing is a tank under the rain. The EVs are to give it good bulk while maximizing its lower defence stat. Tentacruel walls fighting types all day and can burn them with scald. Scald also hits pretty hard in the rain and can KO pokes with weaknesses trying to boost up on me. Because Tentecruel causes switches I can usually use toxic spikes on the switch and they are a nice entry hazard and can do some nice damage to opposing weather starters. Protect can let me scout for moves (such as thunder punch on Infernape and hp electric on Keledo) and recover 12.5% hp per turn with rain dish and black sludge. My team doesn’t really like hazards so rapid spinning is another nice niche for tentecruel. It is a bonus that it lets me beat ferrethorn because I can spin away the leech seed and hazards and burn it with scald.

Manaphy @ leftovers
152 hp / 100 sp atk / 4 sp def / 252 spd
Hydration | Modest (+sp atk, -atk)
-Surf
-Tail Glow
-Rest
-Ice Beam

I wanted a rain sweeper and saw that Manaphy was legal in dream world. He sweeps through anything slower than him with ease even the pink blobs when the rain is up getting to +6 sp atk in 2 turns thanks to tail glow. The EVs are customized to always OHKO breloom who otherwise is a problem to this team and the 4 in sp def is to have genesect get the atk boost. Most faster pokemon run +speed anyway so I didn’t feel the need to do that with manaphy. Under the rain, Manaphy also works well as a status absorber due to hydration. Surf is the obligitory stab hitting almost everything hard and OHKO-ing many resists. Ice beam covers most everything else such as dragons. Rest is an amazing move under the rain because it is a free one turn full recovery move. Leftovers is there to help recover hp on a sweep but im thinking of going with life orb for more power. This set does have a problem with Quagsire @ Unaware and Jellicent @ Water Absorb so I'm thinking of running energy ball over surf or ice beam.

Ditto @ Choice Scarf
31 hp / 30 atk / 30 def / 31sp atk / 31 sp def / 31 spd
252 hp / 4 def / 252 spd
Imposter | Naive (+spd, -sp def)
-transform
-
-
-

I needed a revenge killer and I’ve always loved ditto and his DW ability, imposter, makes him a boss revenge killer. Ditto makes people pay for getting too many boosts. 252 hp because thats the only stat ditto actually keeps. The IVs are set for HP ice so that I have an easier time with Venasaur, the genies, and dragons in general. The scarf ensures it will outspeed any non-scarfed opponent and most likely KO if it has enough boosts. He is my catch all to stat boosters and baton pass teams. Ditto is somewhat dead weight against stall teams and I am thinking of switching to scarf shadow tag chandelure as my revenge killer instead.

Latias @ leftovers
252 hp / 252 def / 4 sp def
Levitate | Bold (+def, -atk)
-Calm Mind
-Dragon Pulse
-Hidden Power (fighting)
-Recover

I noticed that my team had a weakness to ground do I had to find a flier to take the EQs. This team is defensive so I figured latias would be better than her brother for this team. She also helps take fighting and elemental attacks from the likes of Keledo who otherwise bothers this team. The EVs are set to maximize Latias’ lower defense and general bulk. Calm mind makes her impossible to kill on the special side and boosts her attack. Dragon pulse is a general stab with excellent coverage. HP fighting may seem weird on latias but since im using rain it hits ferrethorn just as hard while also 2KO-ing most TTar at +1 and is more useful against steels than hp fire is on a rain team. Recover is to help get as many calm minds as possible and recover off residual damage. Leftovers is also there to extend longevity and help latias tank more hits.

Ferrethorn @ shed shell
0 spd IVs
252 hp / 88 def / 168 sp def
Iron Barbs | Relaxed (+def, -spd)
-Stealth Rock
-Gyro Ball
-Power Whip
-Leech Seed

I still needed something to tank hits and set up rock so I went with the best defensive poke of 5th gen. He holds the team together taking electric and water attacks like a boss. The EVs are standard allowing it to take repeated hits from both ends of the spectrum. Min speed is used to power up Gyro Ball. I needed a rocks user on my team and Ferrethorn works well. Shed shell is to escape chandelure which is extremely common in DW. Power Whip is to dent Pokes resistant to Gyro ball. Leech seed aids recovery lost by the lack of leftovers and helps stall out opponents such as chancy and blissey.
This team needs some work. I took some suggestions and switch out dragonite for latias and it works better but I still cant take ground attacks if latias is out. Genesect also causes some problems for this team which is my main reason for maybe changing scarf ditto for scarf chandelure.

need longer descriptions or this would get locked by a Mod just saying but what i can rate is that i did face this team and Dnite gives it Problems when paired with Ferrothorn Genesect gives it trouble and Keldeo gives it trouble and theres only one thing that can handle both and thats Chandelure ST Chandelure traps all three and can kill all three
i think scarf with HP ice energy ball flamethrower and Shadow ball should workcan work so try it out the EVs are simpl 252 Spatk 252 Speed 4 Def Modest of teh power and it should work

your descriptions are not quite up to rule 3 of the forum rules, please fix that. check out the archive to see the kind of detail we look for. thanks
