First team I post!
With the abuse of weather teams nowadays I wanted to do one and play with the rain, so let's get started.
Politoed @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpD
Nature: Calm
- Scald
- Toxic
- Protect
- Hypnosis
For me this Politoed works pretty well, it can Sleep some annoying Pokemon like Forretress/Ferrothorn/Skarmory, Scizors... before they set up and kill them with STAB Scald and may inflict burn if they awake, Toxic for bulky (especially Water-type) enemies and Protect for recover some HP and predict which move my opponent will do next turn. Scald over Hydro Pump just for Burning.
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe to help with Trick Room if the opponent use it
Nature: Relaxed
- Protect
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
This thing really shines on rain teams, specially for Fire power being decreased. The set is quite simple and standard, I switch this thing to setup Stealth Rock, Leech enemies and Protect, Power Whip for STAB damage. I really like to play some mindgames and confuse the other player with Ferrothorn, usually I can take down Espeons and Chanseys/Blisseys so easily.
Jolteon @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Nature: Timid
- Thunder
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Ice
When I feel any Electric attack is going to land on my Water frog I switch to this, Jolteon really do severe damage to any enemie except Ground targets, it OHKO most of the Dragons, Flying, Grass and Gliscors out there, they really never expect a HP Ice.
Tornadus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Taunt
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power Ice
The less common genie, who don't like Tornadus in rain, another simple set, Taunt to avoid some setup, Hurricane to blow things away, HP for Dragons and Flying things that resist my Hurricane and Focus for coverage.
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
Electric immunity if my Jolteon is out of the game plus it can resist Fire-type attacks and counter them back with STAB Quake, Ice Shard to wipe weakened foes and Icicle Crash to play some mindgames with my opponent and do seriously damage to the next pokemon they send out because they tend to switch out their Dragons and Flying things thinking I'm going to Ice Shard them. Stone Edge for coverage.
Chandelure @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Flamethrower
Okay, some will think why Chandelure roflolmao but it's very useful even in rain teams, when my opponent see my Ferrothorn they send out Fire or Fighting-type pokemons that I'm able to dake down thanks to the immunity I receive from being Ghost and Flash Fire ability boosting my weakened Flamethrower. Psychic to kill Conkeldurrs, Infernapes and some others. Energy Ball to take care of the Swamperts out there and some Ground/Water weakened pokemons that think they're going to kill my Fire Chandie.
I've tested for days this team and it's doing it's job pretty fine but sometimes I'm in worys, specially when I mess with the prediction or when I let my enemie to setup, any tip or suggestion to improve and do a better rainy team is welcomed! I'm new to competitive metagame and want to learn new things from all of you.
