Randbats Spotlight Ladder!

The Randbats Spotlight Ladder's purpose is simple: to give formats that would not otherwise have a chance to be played on a wider scale. Each other month, four options will be given, and the winner after a week of voting will have its own ladder for a period of two months!

As usual, this Randbats Spotlight will feature a SMOGON TOURNAMENT related to it. More details about this tournament are included in this thread, so keep reading!

Since it's the last cycle of the year, the options were chosen among some of the most popular formats from this year's cycles that couldn't get enough votes to become spotlights. In other words, this is "best of the rest"!

YOU MAY VOTE FOR MULTIPLE FORMATS!

What are all these formats and mods?

Challenge Cup 6v6 First Blood:
First Blood changes the standard rule of pokemon battles, making it so that the first player to score a ko wins the match. This time we mixed it with Challenge Cup, a bizarre format where your pokemon will randomly have any legal ability, moves, and item. Knowing movepools, scouting for coverage and using your threats accordingly are the keys to triumph here!

Gen 9 Alphabet Cup Random Battle: With Alphabet Cup, your pokemon will have the possibility to use any move that shares the same first letter as their name or a previous evolution's name. Quiver Dance Quagsire and Population Bomb Polteageist are now a thing, along with many more gamebreaking combinations!

Gen 6 Protean Palace Random Battle: Every Pokemon, in addition to their normal abilities, has the effect of Gen 6 Protean. Every move you make, you change your Pokemon's type to that move!

Twisted Dimension Gen 9 Random Battle: Twisted Dimension is the mod that sets up a permanent Trick Room on the field, which means that the slowest Pokemon will now move first for the entirety of the game! Threats like Crabominable and Gumshoos become even more deadly in this modded format, so use them wisely to break through your opponent's team!

Gen 1 Challenge Cup: The perfect format for the lovers of all the ""uniqueness"" you can find in gen 1, this variant of Challenge Cup includes some pokemon like Kakuna and Weedle that do not appear in regular randbats because... well, you can guess why. Since we are talking about Challenge Cup, pokemon will randomly have any legal moves, including the likes of Bide, Double Team and, most importantly, the terrifying Wrap.

Force of the Fallen Random Roulette: Random Roulette is that format where you will play in a randomly selected generation from 1 to 9, but Force of the Fallen adds an interesting twist! Once a pokemon is defeated, the last move in its moveset will be inherited by all its teammates, which means that sometimes sacking a pokemon can be a viable strategy to create an even more powerful monster in the back!

!IMPORTANT! Tournament information

This month's Randbats Spotlight is going to include a SMOGON TOURNAMENT. The format of this tournament will be the format chosen as the Randbats Spotlight. The length of this tournament will be 2 months, which will determine the pace of the tournament. The prize of the tournament will be 1 month of RPW (Room Prize Winner) and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!

How do I sign up?

Please do not sign up in this thread, a new thread will be open for the tournament itself.

Rules and additional details:

- When selecting a format to vote on as the winner, you will have a wide array of options, from modded variants of ladders that already exist, to formats that are challenge-only, to formats that don't exist at all! However, these are subject to coding limitations, and formats that have recently been a bimonthly spotlight cannot be voted on again for several months.
- This thread is open for discussion. Stay cordial, follow all site rules.
- Only votes in the poll above will count. Please do not type your vote out in a reply.
