Randbats Spotlight Ladder!
The Randbats Spotlight Ladder's purpose is simple: to give formats that would not otherwise have a chance to be played on a wider scale. Each other month, four options will be given, and the winner after a week of voting will have its own ladder for a period of two months!
As usual, this Randbats Spotlight will feature a SMOGON TOURNAMENT related to it. More details about this tournament are included in this thread, so keep reading!
YOU MAY VOTE FOR MULTIPLE FORMATS!
What are all these formats and mods?
Gen 9 Godly Gift Random Battle: One of the most beloved OMs makes its debut in rands! Every team will generate (at least) one Uber/Restricted pokemon in the first slot, which is going to "gift" its stats to the other pokemon on your team, depending on their position. The "God" will pass its attack stat to the pokemon in the second slot, defense to the third, special attack to the fourth etc. This format will have team preview to make things more balanced and competitive, but then you'll be free to pick your lead
Gen 6 Full Potential Random Battle: In Full Potential, whenever you unleash an attack, the damage is calculated by using the highest stat of your pokemon. This means that usually defensive walls like Steelix and Regice, or speedy but frail pokemon like Ninjask could turn into unexpected offensive powerhouses!
Force of the Fallen Broken Cup: What happens when you combine two previous Spotlights into one? Broken Cup is the version of Hackmons Cup "on steroids", with only great Pokemon, abilities, moves and items. Force of the Fallen allows every pokemon on your team to inherit the last move in the moveset of their fallen comrades to potentially create broken (pun intended) combinations
Bring 12 Pick 6 CAP Random Battle: Speaking of former Spotlights combined together, we give you the option to bring back the Create-A-Pokemon creatures in Gen 9 Random Battle! With bring 12 pick 6, you will have an even wider array of CAP pokemon to choose from so you can carefully build your team
!IMPORTANT! Tournament information
This month's Randbats Spotlight is going to include a SMOGON TOURNAMENT. The format of this tournament will be the format chosen as the Randbats Spotlight. The length of this tournament will be 2 months, which will determine the pace of the tournament. The prize of the tournament will be 1 month of RPW (Room Prize Winner) and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!
How do I sign up?
Please do not sign up in this thread, a new thread will be open for the tournament itself.
Rules and additional details:
- When selecting a format to vote on as the winner, you will have a wide array of options, from modded variants of ladders that already exist, to formats that are challenge-only, to formats that don't exist at all! However, these are subject to coding limitations, and formats that have recently been a bimonthly spotlight cannot be voted on again for several months.
- This thread is open for discussion. Stay cordial, follow all site rules.
- Only votes in the poll above will count. Please do not type your vote out in a reply.
