Rando (OU)

Rando
This is my first XY OU team and it has been pretty good overall but there are times that just fall flat and i'd like some suggestions on it (English it's not my first language so excuse any errors).

Galvantula (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Volt Switch

His job is to lay Sticky Web. Thunder + Compound Eyes makes a strong accurate STAB. Bug Buzz is for Espeon, Tyranitar and Deoxys-S and bypasses Substitute. Volt Switch is for scouting and reliable attack agaisnt Mega Charizard Y. Focus Sash is to guarantee the use of Sticky Web.

Talonflame (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- U-turn

Switch Talonflame in something it can't touch it and then use Swords Dance. Flare Blitz and Brave Bird are strong STABs, the last one gets priority thanks to Gale Wings. U-turn is to switch without wasting the attack boost. Max speed is to have a chance at outspeeding enemy Talonflame. Leftovers is for healing off recoil damage and it has given me more chances to attack.

Greninja (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Surf
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
- U-turn

My favorite pokemon in this generation. Surf and Dark Pulse are his main STABs. Ice Beam is for coverage and gets STAb thanks to Protean. U-turn is for scouting and forms a pseudo VoltTurn core with Galvantula and Talonflame. Life Orb is for extra power.

Excadrill (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide

Excadrill is here to spin away entry hazards and with an electric inmunity. Earthquake is his main STAB and can hit levitators thanks to Mold Breaker. Iron Head is his second STAB with a nice flinch rate. Rock Slide is for coverage. Air Balloon is to give him a ground inmunity.

Gengar (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb
- Substitute
- Disable

Fighting inmunity and spinbloker. Substitute is to block status and Disable is to annoy the opponent and force switchs. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb is for STAB. Black Sludge is for restauring HP.

Breloom (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Force Palm
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Tomb
- Fling

Is mostly filler and I needed something to counter Azumarill. Force Palm and Bullet Seed are for STAB and Rock Tomb for coverage that gets boosted by Technician. Fling is to hit weakened Aegislash on the switch and get rid of the Choice Scarf to not get locked in a move. Choice Scarf is to outspeed unsuspecting foes.

The main problem with your team and one that I cant really help you with personally is that you are using an entry hazard rooted in making bulky offense harder to deal with, but you are using a lot of things that dont really benefit from this. Im not saying that you need to go all out bulky offense for sticky web to work, but maybe a focus sash breloom would work better than a choice scarf one. You could also look into a mega like heracross or mawille as both love being able to outspeed certain threats. Thats all ive got.

What mac said, Sticky Web is great for nerfing pokemon which rely on speed which makes bulkier threats more usable. Your team is filled with fast pokemon who you have also invested heavily in speed. You are basically playing 5 on 6 because your lead isn't accomplishing much by using sticky web since you would likely outspeed anyway.

The team in general seems to be constructed as 6 individuals. I definitely have the same problem. Play around with some bulkier pokemon behind Galvantula and see how you like it.
