Tournament Random Battles Extension League II: Commencement

We will be accepting try-outs! To make this easy on both you and us, we made a discord server RBEL Pidgeot server ! Feel free to join and contact us there, or if you see us online on ps! (no guarantee we will have time).
When you join our discord, you can make a short post introducing yourself, telling us your preferred tiers and randbats achievements. We're hoping to find some hidden gems, so don't be afraid if you're lesser known! Hope to see you all soon!

JustOut and I are opening up our Discord DMs for people that want to tell us all about their Randbats achievements! We want to know everything about your results in terms of tours, ladder rankings, etc. We are also open to do open tryouts depending on the resume. You should also reach out even if you think we know you. The reality is that we're likely aware of all the talents in this tour, but maybe your best play doesn't match your ladder GXE or maybe you got haxed really bad in a tournament. This process gives us a better image of you as a player.
We will update this with a more streamlined process later in the week, but for now, we just want to meet some of the more eager players out there!

Hello aspiring draftees! If you signed up for rbel and want to advertise yourself for the draft, Tyranitars open their tiny yet welcoming hands to anyone who is willing to contact us. Here is some useful info for you all:
How to contact us
We advise you to hit us up on Discord (fran35q71n and icypenguin2 are our contacts) so we can see all your messages and talk to you more in depth and with no rush. We promise to at least read and reply to everyone,as long as it's not blatant trolling
Alternatively, you can contact us here on Smogon via private message or directly on Pokemon Showdown if you see us online in the random battles room (35Q71N and icypenguin604 are our nicknames there). If we don't reply there, fear not! It means we were probably busy and we'll contact you asap
How to write a resume
The word "resume" might sound very formal but we are more than happy to accept messages written in a more informal tone, don't worry!
We only kindly ask you all to insert some key information to have a quicker and better understanding of your who you are:
1) Ps name and Smogon name
2) Your pokemon experience with random battles and/or other non random formats
3) Rands and/or non rands tournaments you have joined
4) Your results in tournaments, events, ladder etc. *
5) Primary and secondary preferences in terms of formats you would like to play in rbel
6) Something about you personality wise and why you think you should be drafted
One or very few lines for all these points should do the trick, so don't worry about the length of the message :)
*You can tell us and send us screenshots of your peak or current elo, gxe and glicko, you can show us replays of matches in which you think you played particularly well etc. In short, anything that shows us how good you can be!

Both me and icy will be available to play tryout games where we can test your skill in the formats you prefer. It's likely we'll do tryouts with the people we don't know or want to know better in order to assess how good they are. We might decide to not play tryout games with you if we already think you are good enough to be in rbel or if, on the other end, we believe it's still a bit early for you to be on a team. In any case, we'll always be straightforward and communicate it directly to you
How will tryout games work?
You will play either me or icy in a best of 3 or 5 series in a format of your choice. It's going to be your preferred format normally but we can easily do another one you are comfortable with. Tyranitars might seem scary but they are actually very friendly: winning or losing in tryouts doesn't define who you are as a player and your chances at rbel.
Try to approach the matches with the right mindset, play well and reflect on your mistakes (if you made any). Heck, it's a luck ridden game with bizarre digital monsters, so just have fun!
When can you play tryout games with us?
If you contact us on discord, smogon or ps, we can easily arrange the matches for a day and time that fits you. Here are our tentative availabilities and the formats we can play:
Fran:
- Availabilities > pretty much free starting from Tuesday 7th until the day signups close. To kill two birds with one stone, I think you guys can play me in the monthly room event we have in randbats: the auth challenge, which will be held from Friday to Sunday. If you want to read more about auth challenge, read here. I will have a default option for aspiring rbel players
- Formats played > Gen 9-4, Hackmons, BSSF
icy:
- Availabilities > free starting from Monday 13th (he still can reply to your messages in the meantime)
- Formats played > Gen 7-4, Doubles, Hackmons, technically available to do 9, 8 and 3 as well
I think that's it from us. If you read everything despite my absurd tendency to write too much, congratulations! Jokes aside, we really are looking forward to give a chance to all those people who are going to reach out to us, so just contact us and let's see how it goes!
