Tournament Random Battles Extension League II: Commencement

RBEL is amazing for new faces to shine, great players to vindicate, and you know what more? Put all those scouting hours to good use. Here are some undrafted shotouts from my RBTT sheet.

The RBTT Caliber Ones
These people are, in my opinion, able to compete on RBTT and either got snubbed or their pool was simply too big and this wasn't their year:
Legendary (SV, SS, SM), clean (SV, MB), USN (SV), Icemaster (SV, SS), Drud (DPP), virae (RBY), jackofspadesman (DUBS), srvoltmike (DUBS)

The Raising Stars
RBEL is a great place to see new faces shine, and our scouting has left us with the idea that these players new to the RBTT/RBEL scene could become the protagonists of this tour if they sign up for it:
Peum (SV), Hrishioo7 (SV), Star Wheel (SV, SS), Hairoll (SV, ORAS), Enzonana. (SV, SS, DUBS), blundergoth (SS, SM, DPP, ADV), Scizor Boladão (SM), HoopsspooH (ORAS), MeEsSm (BW), adorluigi (DPP), AhmedxWaleed (GSC), Yuudachi0811 (GSC), zuzhouwawa (DUBS)

The All-Rounders
MBox got shafted from RBTT, reducing the value of all-rounders; inversely, for this year's RBEL you want these great players that will be able to cover your old gens and/or factories better than anyone:
Casual dot exe, Javi, nemoauditur, Aldrich, Cao Jie

The Old Guard
Be it from RBTT experience or even the last RBEL, these players are pure value for your teams.
not a racist (DUBS, MB), Lucas2543 (SV, MB), I love Bagon (SS), hammy3581 (SM), JustFranco (SV, MB), CMDoge (BW), Leafium Z (SM, BW, MB), pokology (ADV), VigilanteVigoroth (SV), Suzuya (MB), AIRedzone (DUBS), LizarDune (SV), Sapphire (DUBS), Arcticblast (DUBS)
I don't see last year's other gen 9 open finalist

Well tbf i thought they were managing... Have you tried mentioning them though, or were you posting just to complain instead of helping your fellow users?
Y'all are free to make your own lists sheesh
:worrywhirl: :worrycargo:

only thing I want to say is good luck to everyone! even if I don't get in, I hope everyone who does has fun.

it would be cool to do this for the first time, I've climbed back to top 100 after the end of Season 3 and ended Season 3 at 98th, and I like randbats, but haven't done a tournament before so it would be cool to play one for the first time

Since this thread is all about my opinions making some people sad, let's continue that trend with "uninformed power rankings from someone that barely scouted half of the tours' players"!

1. Kangaskhan
Y'all are gonna call me an old fashioned, nepo-picker staff that sees Lucas-Javi-damm-Nate and goes "yes this is my #1". And you know what, you might be right, but I also am seeing a very solid Kanga draft. Not only getting the goat Star Wheel for their first pick, I had the Optidoxes, Peums, Scizors, and so on as strong candidates to be on RBTT even. Overall I think Kanga went for a nice mix of experienced players, raising stars, and strong subs that will let them compete every week with the right mentality.

2. Tyranitar
What can I say, they went for the classic "strong randbats players available" formula, like Metagross did last year, and we all know that worked for them. Their weekly line up will be really scary, and with the right motivation, they can win it all.

3. Dragapult
This is the "we scouted like gods" team in my humble opinion. I personally checked their early round players cause never heard of them, just to see that paylolo had drafted literal diamonds in the rough worth a lot if they adapt to the team tour scene. Not only that, on the later rounds they were smart enough to bring some old guard and experienced players to balance it out + cover MB quite well, so I expect that team to have a great competitive environment and to make big noise on RBEL II.

4. Pidgeot
Pidgeot and Sableye can be interchangeable, I have these two as both fair candidates to enter playoffs. I put Pidgeot higher mainly because I think their team has more potential to be consistent. They went for a similar strategy than Tyranitar, but I think they don't have that many strong hitters. They seem solid and will compete every week, but will need smart thinking from their managers and a motivated line up to secure playoffs.

5. Sableye
Pidgeot and Sableye can be interchangeable, I have these two as both fair candidates to enter playoffs. I put Sableye lower simply because I think they took the risk of bringing some names that want a comeback era. That being said, maybe that's exactly what you need on RBEL, right? I think their line up has very good first rounds picks followed by a lot of strong pokemon players that not always had the best luck in rands, and maybe 2025 is their year to show what they got. I started my ranking with them at like 7 yet they got up the more I looked at it.

6. Mawile
They seem to have brought some stours seasoning to RBEL and we'll see if that pays off. I'm so unfamiliar with this team that maybe they shut my mouth and go all the way; after all, I do think Tuthur and JJ have the tours + rands knowledge to potentially make a winner team. I hope you all add some new faces to the community that we'll see more during the year.

7. Venusaur
Venu had the same strategy as TTars and Pidgeot, but overall I think they might have some holes on their line up. This can mean two things: that they will need great communication within their team to move things around in case their original plan doesn't work, or that yonmd will send me screenshots of this text every time they win a week. We'll see. This team is full of players with amazing potential, though, so I'd love to see them shine.

8. Glalie
For what it's worth, this is their spot mainly because they were the only team that had issues during the draft. Their managers are experienced and know the community, their line up will have some hard hitting names like Hairoll, 13enji, AIRed, etc., but I'm interested to see how they cover the rest. That being said, even I have been drafted by frosty some time ago and can attest that his team environments are great, solid, and with a lot of competitive spirit, so I can't wait to see Glalies show some surprises this season.

Following in the footsteps of my manager, I've decided to upload some coverage and insight on the Gen 6 games. Little bit late but I've gone over the games for week one. I'll hopefully do these each week, though I am new at this, so if you have any suggestions for improvement I'd be much obliged.
