Introduction

This is my first time peaking somewhat high on ladder, so I wanted to share the team I used while laddering. I was looking for the best and easiest team to climb efficiently, so I asked in the Stall Discord community about the strongest stall archetype.

RainebowValiant suggested that specially defensive stall core with Swords Dance Gliscor was pretty good. I gave it a shot but quickly realized I'm horrible at using SD Gliscor. So I switched it up and ran a specially defensive Spikes Gliscor instead, which felt a lot more consistent for me. Feel free to try out different EVs and moves as mine aren't fully optimized.

This team is definitely good enough to hit Rank 1, I'm just not good enough to pull it off. If you manage to peak with it DM me pls.

Let’s get into the team.

I lead with this 90% of the time and Protect turn 1 to guarantee Toxic Orb proc and get Poison Heal going. This thing usually tanks Ice Beams from :clefable: and :slowking-galar:, so you can greed a Knock Off early. In fact, you can pretty much Knock Off in front of most special attackers that don't have ice beam.

I also noticed you can bait opponents into thinking it’s the standard defensive EV set—then surprise kill :slowking-galar: with Earthquake after a Knock Off. I gave it Tera Dark to eat Future Sights while staying in and Protecting.

Yeah screw you balance/bulky offense :slowking-galar: players here are some more for yall:

:slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar::slowking-galar:

1747458452441.png

Primary answer into most special attackers. Tera water is to wall Sun Protosynthesis Tera Water hydro steam :walking_wake: and I guess Tera Fire eruption :typhlosion_hisui:???? (not a real mon).

This set folds against psyshock or tera fighting focus blast :gholdengo:,so what I like to do when I don't know what moves :gholdengo: is running, I put down Stealth Rock and immediately pivot to :dondozo:.

Not much to say about this mon.

1747460228610.png

Our first defogger that hard walls :samurott_hisui:. With Neutralizing Gas, it can harass Magic Guard :clefable: after toxic, defog against Good as Gold :gholdengo:, stop Regenerator mons from healing after a switch, shutdown :gliscor: poison heal, and burn :garganacl: with Will-O-Wisp.

Tera Ghost is for spin blocking and completely walling Facade Ursaluna.

1747461045304.png

All-around physical wall and our primary answer to SD :ogerpon_wellspring:. Tera Grass might be needed if Stealth Rock or Spikes are present on the field as 2+ Power Whip can potentially OHKO. :Toxapex: can scout Trick Scarf, absorb Knock Off, and toxic annoying mons. Haze is for Curse :garganacl: and some other annoying setup mons that don't immediately OHKO :toxapex:

I gave it Toxic Spikes to cheese the matchup against Hyper Offense and teams without a poison type to absorb the spikes. Although it is a physical wall, it can scout :iron_valiant:, :darkrai:, :enamorus:, :kyurem:, :primarina:, and more. :Toxapex: can also trade toxic into these mons if you think they might be a threat to the team.

1747461575689.png

Our second defogger, :talonflame: can sit in front of :kingambit: and fish for burn while spamming roost. It can also act as an emergency burner if :ogerpon_wellspring: or :samurott_hisui if they get out of control. Talonflame greatly supports :dondozo: as its EVs are Spdef and might be unable to setup in front of some physical attackers.

It can also sit on :ting_lu:, spam Defog, and chip it with Flamethrower + Will-O-Wisp. Just make sure you don’t Roost on Earthquake.

Tera Dragon can partially wall :ogerpon_wellspring: as long as it doesn't have Play Rough.

1747462939405.png

Primarily used as the answer to :gholdengo:. After just one Curse, it can 2HKO offensive Gholdengo with Crunch. Waterfall can be used instead if you want more consistency, but it won't be able to hit :ogerpon-wellspring:.

Tera Dark clutches here - it makes Dozo immune to Psychic Noise, takes less damage from Gholdengo's Shadow Ball, loses its weaknesses to Electric, Grass, and Freeze-Dry, and gives a nice STAB damage boost to Crunch.

:dondozo: isn't really a wall on this team - it's a wincon. You would want to plan the game around clearing or crippling mons that stop it, then start spamming Curse stacks. It's actually stupid how easily it sweeps with Curse stacks.

Threats

Tera Ghost :raging_bolt:
Pain. If it reveals Tera Ghost, Tera Dark with :dondozo: and click Crunch. Hope for the best.

:heatran:
Annoying as hell. Try to keep :gliscor: healthy and don’t reveal Earthquake early. If it doesn’t Tera, you can usually snipe it. If it does… good luck.

:garganacl:
More annoying than dangerous. Once you burn it, it becomes manageable. Just don’t let it sit there stacking forever.

Swords Dance :gliscor:
This one's a rock-paper-scissors matchup. You both have to guess whether to switch out or tera. If they hazard stack well, it can get rough.

Tera Fairy :gholdengo:
Blissey can try to wear it down with Seismic Toss, but if it’s +4 Nasty Plot you might be cooked. Still winnable, just annoying.

Tera Ghost :primarina:
Watch out for Psychic Noise. Try to Tera around that if possible. If you play it well, :gliscor: can finish it off with Knock Off once it’s low.

:deoxys_speed:
Usually just sack whoever’s more useless between :blissey: and :dondozo:. You gotta get rid of it fast before it gets too much value.

Replays

Yeah uh I didn't really save any replays, and the few that I did are kinda badly played anyway. Here is a goofy replay of me using it in WCOP first round:

Hello, being a user of this team ( I have used it 60 times ) I would also like to add some additional threats that really cause me problems.

:Heatran: --> Already mentioned as a potential threat, it turns out to be an abominable one under a particular set making the game session almost impossible to win. | :Heatran: Tera Grass + Vortex Magma + Taunt ...

  1. :Gliscor: --> He can't do anything except place the spikes + Knock Off + Earthquake but that doesn't do anything

  2. :Blissey: --> Logically, the blisseys are supposed to come on Heatran, being generally special, but once Magma vortex + Taunt + Protect even with Seismic Toss we don't have enough HP to tank this infernal combo.

  3. :Toxapex: / :Dondozo: --> Can't do anything... ( Taunt )

  4. :Talonflame: --> Once Heatran has Tera he can't do anything even with Tera Plant due to his Flash Fire ability

  5. :Weezing-Galar: --> Even though his skill is very useful, we can't come at him because of his low special defense and if he doesn't kill and we get caught in Magma Vortex we are completely Wall
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

:Kyurem: / :Tyranitar: Mixed
These are two Pokémon that are absolutely unbearable for our team because the Mixed sets pulverize us.

Mixed :Kyurem: can Freeze-dry / Ice Beam our Pokémon, so :Blissey: should be the answer, but no, because it can KO me with Body Press, and the same goes for :Tyranitar: with its Stone Edge / Earthquake / Ice Beam set. :Talonflame: can't come in freely because you have to sacrifice a Pokémon or damage our :Dondozo: , and Crunch can't kill it. Even if :Talonflame: manages to come in, we have a chance, Miss Will-o-Wisp, and we have to use our Tera Dragon to tank Stone Edge and burn it BUT be at the mercy of Ice Beam.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

:Ogerpon-cornerstone:

This thing is MONSTROUS and it hits but so hard! No Pokémon in the team can Switch on it and you only have 1 CHANCE to defeat it by sacrificing :Talonflame: and pray that the ability burns it otherwise it's over or else predict it coming and :Weezing-Galar: don't miss the Will-o-Wisp but once again a huge threat

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

:Klefki: + :Latias:

Probably the worst combo that can exist because :Klefki: places his Protection + Light Screen and switches to :Latias: so :Toxapex: but he will Tera Crystal Steel + Haze (We can't Toxic him) but he can Psychic us in a loop so :Gliscor: on a turn of set up + Call Mind but as he is Tera Steel we can't do anything to him with Knock Off + Seism either and if he has Dragon Pulse it's over and even :Dondozo: gets 2HKOed and doesn't have enough power even in Tera to defeat him so it's over... Almost impossible to win

----------------------------------------------------------------------

:Venusaur: Sun... :Venusaur:

The team also finds itself in great difficulty VS team Sun who are a real hell to manage and more particularly :Venusaur: he can literally bring the team to its knees all by himself

Normally we use Blissey to manage it but No with its Growth attack which boosts its attack + Special Attack it can pulverize us if it is played Mix (Yes I crossed a Mix Venusaur on the ladder with Earthquake) and BOOM... And otherwise :Toxapex: and all the others are all KO by Earthquake + Weather Ball + Sludge Bomb + Giga-Drain

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The team is really nice to play and it's not boring to play. I have fun, but my opponents a little less because sometimes the messages are a little... "Angry"

1. Yea Heatran can be rough if your opponent knows what to do. I tend to stay in with Gliscor and fish for grass tera, or go straight for Earthquake. Sometimes if I'm really lazy and don't want to think I sack blissey and hope for the best XD.

2. Mixed Kyurem and Tyranitar are both potential problem for stall, but Toxapex can usually get a poison off.

3. Idk Rockerpon just forfeit after they click SD???? I guess Toxic spikes and pray.

4. This one's not too bad with tera dark Dondozo. I like to SRocks with blissey and switch out to dozo or try to bait out tera with Toxapex. I'm pretty sure Latias can't even 3HKO with Dragon Pulse on SpDf dozo but maybe Draco meteor can be annoying.

5. Earthquake Venusaur is a rough set for stall aswell. Not much you can do other than Tera Dark dozo and force it out.
