Rapidash ZU QC [1/3]

[OVERVIEW]

  • Rapidash has a niche as one of the few pure physical Fire-types in ZU, and it is the best one, as it has superior coverage, higher Speed, and access to instant recovery in Morning Sun
  • Rapidash provides great offensive utility and being a great revenge killer due to its solid coverage for the ZU tier, Rapidash is able hit its checks decently well.
  • Rapidash is capable to revenge kill Choice Scarf users with its solid speed when equipped with a Choice Scarf.
  • Stealth Rock weakness and its terrible bulk hinders its opportunities to repeatedly switch in which is important to note as
  • Even with solid coverage, it still fails to break certain walls like Golem and Granbull
  • Rapidash faces competition with other Fire type wallbreakers like Simisear and Monferno, former having a set up move in Nasty Plot to effectively wallbreak and latter not having a Stealth Rock weakness with its Fighting typing, a second STAB from the aforementioned Fighting type, and provides more role compression

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Flare Blitz is Rapidash's main STAB hitting for massive damage, allowing to OHKO threats like Shiftry.
  • Wild Charge is an extremely important coverage to hit its Water Type like Swanna and Silvally-Water.
  • High Horsepower allows Rapidash to hit Golem and Mareanie hard, also hitting other Fire types like Combusken.
  • Hidden Power Ice is mainly used to lure Altaria and Gabite but little use outside.
  • Morning Sun gives Rapidash some recovery from the recoil it gets from Life Orb and Flare Blitz.
  • Will-O-Wisp is used more that HP Ice as it cripples more targets from physically hurting Rapidash like Granbull and Golem.
Set Details
========

  • Firium Z gives Rapidash a one time nuke on Flare Blitz removing recoil but most importantly score guaranteed KOs on the likes of Komala and Kecleon and it makes Rapidash a Knock Off switch in.
  • Life Orb gives consistent boosted damage on all its attacking moves and allows to wallbreak easier.
Usage Tips
========

  • This Rapidash set is best suited as a wallbreaker for Offensive teams and can be a decent cleaner, allowing to clean teams when all faster threats are gone and bulky Pokemon weakened
  • Utilize Flash Fire as best as it can, although frail, you can come in on a predicted Fire- Type attack from Simisear and Monferno so you can boost Flare Blitz and hit even harder
  • Rapidash should be brought in safely via Slow pivots due to its poor bulk so Rapidash can use a move the next turn.
  • Rapidash should avoid hazard damage when possible as hazards ruing its longevity and is 2x weak to Stealth Rocks
  • Rapidash is one of those Pokemon who rely on perfectly predicted switch ins to threaten better offensively
  • Must be cautious with the use of recoils moves like Flare Blitz and Wild Charge with the recoil of Life Orb, as these make Rapidash more prone to priority or faster Pokemon if weakened
Team Options
========

  • Rapidash is best settled for offensive teams that struggle with Grass types like Gourgeist-XL and Leafeon
  • Rapidash works very well with hazard removal like Silvally-Water and Shifty especially because Rapidash is very vulnerable to hazards. Silvally-Water deals with Rapidash's Ground and Water weaknesses. Shiftry makes for a solid offensive core with Rapidash and they both cover each others weaknesses
  • Grass types like the aformentioned Gourgeist-XL make for good checks to Water types and Ground types and Gourgeist-XL in particular can prevent the hazards that Rapidash appreciates to have up.
  • Water types like Swanna handle Rock types and Ground types by hitting them for super effective damage
  • Slow users of U-turn and Volt Switch like Probopass and Komala can bring in Rapidash safely, regards to Komala who can also remove hazards with Rapid Spin and help heal with slow U-turn into Wish
  • Hazard setters like Bronzor and Golem are helpful to let Rapidash get easy KOes on the opposing team.
[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Flare Blitz
move 2: Wild Charge
move 3: High Horsepower
move 4: Toxic / Megahorn
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Flash Fire
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Wild Charge is great coverage that hits Swanna and Floatzel extremely hard while taking on Mareanie.
  • High Horsepower hits other Fire types like opposing Rapidash and Simisear and hit offensive GOlem
  • Megahorn pummels the Psychic types like Grumpig since Grumpig has access to Thick Fat
  • Toxic can be used over Megahorn if you want to cripple the counters like Golem and Pyukumuku
Set Details
========
  • A Choice Scarf cements Rapidash's role as a formidable revenge killer, enabling it to outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame and threaten out other offensive Pokemon with its powerful STAB attacks and great coverage
Usage Tips
========

  • With a Choice Scarf, Rapidash can serve as a decently fast wallbreaker; it is especially effective against hyper offensive teams, as they often struggle to have a reliable switch-in for Rapidash's attacks.
  • Rapidash is also a really decent revenge killer, revenging the likes of Swanna and Electivire. Rapidash can also be a really decent cleaner, when the opposing team is soften up and Rapidash is ready to get going.
  • Bring Rapidash safely on a teammate getting killed or a slow pivot, especially when your field lacks hazards, to effectively wipe out the opponent
  • Choice Scarf makes Rapidash prediction reliant and easier to play around.
  • Rapidash is much easier to wear down and should be wary recoil and chip damage.
Team Options
========

  • Entry Hazard removal like Komala and Shiftry works really well with Rapidash as they help remove hazards that Rapidash is prone too, in the case of Shiftry, great offensive pressure
  • Grass types like Leafeon let Rapidash ease some prediction and provide perfect synergy, as the Grass types deal with the Rock and Water types that Rapidash has a bad time with and Rapidash can deal with opposing Grass types and Ice types
  • Hazard Setters like Golem and Bronzor let Rapidash put offensive pressure with the Hazards, allowing for easy wall breaking
  • Slow U-turn or Volt Switch like Komala and Silvally-Water can bring Rapidash in safely without having to risk it taking heavy damage.
  • Water types like Silvally-Water and Swanna helps shield the moves Rapidash doesn't want to take like Water type moves and Ground Types. In the case of Silvally-Water, it can remove hazards and let Rapidash come in safely with Parting Shot, weakening some attacks and letting Rapidash force a switch
  • Set up sweepers like Komala and Pinsir appreciates the fact Rapidash can revenge kill faster Pokemon, allowing the sweepers to not have to rely on priority or tanking hits.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Sunny Day can be use in conjunction with Firium Z to boost Rapidash's speed and plays both a revenge killer and sweeper, but it is only useful on sun teams and removes its utility move in Will-O-Wisp.
  • Groundium Z can be used to lure Mareanie and Golem and breaks Fire types. But Firium is much better for STAB nuke
  • Substitute + Toxic lets Rapidash ease Sucker Punch predictions and protect itself from Toxic. This set also allows Rapidash to cripple its normal checks like Pyukumuku and Golem,but this removes two valuable coverage move, removes the threat of Will-o-Wisp and removes some longevity. This set also allows Rapidash to cripple its normal checks like Pyukumuku and Golem.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon such as Pyukumuku and Golem can take a hit from Rapidash and cripple it with status. Golem eats any hit Rapidash wants to throw and OHKO with Earthquake, but must be wary of Will-O-Wisp. Pyukumuku can easily Toxic stall beating Rapidash 1v1, but Pyukumuku can be crippled with Toxic

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Scarf Electivire and Floatzel can outspeed Rapidash and can take care of it with their STAB moves. However they must be wary of Choice Scarf.

**Priority Moves**: Strong or super effective priority moves such as Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak from Shiftry and Kecleon can take care of Choice Scarf Rapidash with just a little prior damage, which is very easy to get, as Rapidash gets worn down really easily.

**Residual Damage**: Due to a weakness to all entry hazards and the use of recoil moves, Rapidash tends to faint very fast if it does not get an opportunity to use Morning Sun. Recoil from Flare Blitz, Wild Charge and Life Orb can cause real problems when Rapidash wants to revenge killed, as Rapidash can be more prone to priority.

Implement whatever floats your boat

[OVERVIEW]

  • Rapidash is one of the strongest physical attackers in the tier Be more specific and mention it's Rarely seen pure Fire-typing
  • Provides great offensive utility and being a great revenge killer
  • Solid coverage for the ZU tier, hitting its checks decently well and capable to revenge kill Choice Scarf users with its solid speed Tell us what that coverage is. For example, say something like "Rapidash possess solid coverage in the moves in High Horsepower and Wild Charge." That should be its own bullet point imo. You can mention how it can revenge kill some choice Scarf users in a seperate bullet.
  • Having access to Will O Wisp to burn its physical checks and Morning Sun for longevity
  • Access to Flash Fire gives Rapidash a free opportunity to switch in on Fire type attacks to hit hard with its own
  • Stealth Rock weakness and its terrible bulk hinders its opportunities to repeatedly switch in
  • Even with solid coverage, it still fails to break certain walls like Golem and Lickilicky

  • Flash Fire allows Rapidash to absorb incoming fire attacks to boosts its own
Usage Tips
========

  • With a Choice Scarf, Rapidash can serve as a decently fast wallbreaker; it is especially effective against hyper offensive teams, as they often struggle to have a reliable switch-in for Rapidash's attacks.
  • Rapidash is also a really decent revenge killer and cleaner. Make this 2 sentences detailing it as a defensive revenge killer and for the second sentence talk about its cleaning capabilities
  • Bring Rapidash safely on a teammate getting killed or a slow pivot, especially when your field lacks hazards, to effectively wipe out the opponent

Mention some Wallbreakers that appreciate Rapidash and its Revenge killing
Talk about set up sweepers and how they benefit from Choice Scarf Rapidash

  • Sunny Day can be use in conjunction with Firium Z to boost Rapidash's speed and plays both a revenge killer and sweeper, but it removes the nuke Inferno Overdrive that Rapidash appreciates
  • Groundium Z can be used to lure Mareanie and Golem and breaks Fire types. But Firium is much better for STAB nuke
Mention Choice Band here
There's also a Substitute set that I would mention

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon such as Mareanie and Dusclops can take a hit from Rapidash and cripple it with status.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Scarf Electivire and Floatzel can outspeed Rapidash and can take care of it with their STAB moves. It doesn't matter if they hit Rapidash for super effective damage or not, as Rapidash is quite very frail and easy to wear down.

**Priority Moves**: Strong or super effective priority moves such as Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak from Shiftry and Kecleon can take care of Rapidash with just a little prior damage, which is very easy to get, as Rapidash gets worn down really easily.

**Golem**: Golem can take at least one High Horsepower and KO Rapidash in return with its Rock or Ground STAB attacks. Golem can also set up Stealth Rock against Rapidash.
Mention that Golem doesn't want to get burned

[OVERVIEW]

  • Rapidash is one of the strongest physical attackers in the tier hitting hard with its high power Attacks.
  • Rapidash is one of the few pure Fire types in the tier, having less weaknesses then the rest. Fluff
  • Provides great offensive utility and being a great revenge killer Give detail and explain why Rapidash gives great offensive utility and why it's a great revenge killer.
  • Solid coverage for the ZU tier, hitting its checks decently well and capable to revenge kill Choice Scarf users with its solid speed Can merge this with the above point
  • Having access to Will O Wisp to burn its physical checks and Morning Sun for longevity This is just stating information. Explain why it's relevant and how it relates to Rapidash's niche
  • Access to Flash Fire gives Rapidash a free opportunity to switch in on Fire type attacks to hit hard with its own Explain why this is relevant rather than it being fluff
  • Stealth Rock weakness and its terrible bulk hinders its opportunities to repeatedly switch in This is actually a major point that should be emphasized more because Rapidash is fairly easy to wear down, especially with Flare Blitz as STAB. Also, mention examples of which Pokemon pressure it offensively
  • Even with solid coverage, it still fails to break certain walls like Golem and Lickilicky Change Lickilicky to another example. Flare Blitz into Inferno Overdrive can threaten to 2HKO
Overview should be more detailed to better illustrate Rapidash's niche in the current metagame.

  • Hidden Power Ice is mainly used to lure Altaria but little use outside Also hits Gabite
  • Morning Sun gives Rapidash some recovery from the recoil it gets from Life Orb and Flare Blitz
Mention why Will-O-Wisp would be used over HP Ice (gives Rapidash more utility in the current meta, mention what it hits)

Set Details
========

  • Max Attack and Speed allow Rapidash to hit a benchmark of outspeeding base 100 and either revenge kill or wallbreak
  • Life Orb gives consistent boosted damage on all its attacking moves and allows to wallbreak easier Should be the last point since LO is slashed after Firium Z
  • Firium Z gives Rapidash a one time nuke on Flare Blitz removing recoil but most importantly score guaranteed KOs on the likes of Komala and Kecleon It also makes Rapidash a decent Knock Off switch-in
Mention that Flame Body pairs well with Firium Z since Rapidash can switch into and potentially burn Knock Off users such as Shiftry and Kecleon

Usage Tips
========

  • This Rapidash set is best suited as a wallbreaker for Offensive teams and can be a decent cleaner
  • Allowing to clean teams when all faster threats are gone and bulky Pokemon weakened Merge with the above point since the info overlaps
  • Utilize Flash Fire as best as it can, although frail, you can come in on a predicted Fire- Type attack from Simisear and Monferno so you can boost Flare Blitz and hit even harder
  • Offensive teams have trouble dealing with Rapidash so preserve it and don't bring it in when there's a faster pokemon Fluff, already been talked about in first point
  • Rapidash should be brought in safely via Slow pivots. Or double switches
  • Rapidash should avoid hazard damage when possible as hazards ruing its longevity and is 2x weak to Stealth Rocks
The usage tips should talk about how Rapidash needs to predict correctly to nail switch-ins and how Flare Blitz and Wild Charge + Life Orb recoil come into play.

Team Options
========

  • Rapidash is best settled for offensive teams that struggle with Grass types like Gourgeist-XL and Leafeon
  • Rapidash works very well with hazard removal like Altaria and Shifty especially because Rapidash is very vulnerable to hazards. Altaria deals with Rapidash's Ground and Water weaknesses. Shiftry makes for a solid offensive core with Rapidash and they both cover each others weaknesses Replace Altaria with another Defogger like Silvally-Water or Fighting because it does not deal with Golem and is not really used on offensive teams
  • Grass types like the aformentioned Gourgeist-XL make for good counters to Water types and Ground types and Gourgeist-XL in particular can prevent the hazards that Rapidash appreciates to have up. Counters is not the right word here because special attacking Water-types can nail it with Ice Beam and Swanna beats it.
  • Water types like Swanna handle Rock types and Ground types by hitting them for super effective damage
  • Slow users of U-turn and Volt Switch like Probopass and Komala can bring in Rapidash safely, regards to Komala who can also remove hazards with Rapid Spin and help heal with slow U-turn into Wish Replace Probopass with something more relevant such as Silvally-Dragon
  • Hazard setters like Bronzor and Golem are helpful to let Rapidash get easy KOes on the opposing team. Give examples of KOes
[SET]

Moves
========

  • Flare Blitz is Rapidash's main STAB and allows Rapidash hit very hard Fluff
  • Wild Charge is great coverage that hits Swanna and Floatzel extremely hard while taking on Mareanie.
  • High Horsepower hits other Fire types like opposing Rapidash and Simisear and can hit offensive Golem
  • Megahorn pummels the Psychic types like Grumpig since Grumpig has access to Thick Fat
  • Toxic can be used over Megahorn if you want to cripple the counters like Golem and Grumpig Replace Grumpig mention with Pyukumuku
Set Details
========
  • A Choice Scarf cements Rapidash's role as a formidable revenge killer, enabling it to outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame and threaten out other offensive Pokemon with its powerful STAB attacks and great coverage
  • Flash Fire allows Rapidash to absorb incoming fire attacks to boosts its own Fluff
Usage Tips
========

Section needs to be beefed up. Mention that a Choice Scarf makes Rapidash prediction reliant and easier to play around. Mention that it also means Rapidash is much easier to wear down and should be wary recoil and chip damage.

Team Options
========

=============
  • Sunny Day can be use in conjunction with Firium Z to boost Rapidash's speed and plays both a revenge killer and sweeper, but it removes the nuke Inferno Overdrive that Rapidash appreciates. Mention that it's mainly used on sun teams
  • Groundium Z can be used to lure Mareanie and Golem and breaks Fire types. But Firium is much better for STAB nuke
  • Choice Band lets Rapidash wall break better and gives the opponent trouble switching in, however Rapidash's moves aren't spammable and can be easily exploited. CB is not worth it. LO makes Rap a much more threatening breaker than CB
  • Substitute lets Rapidash ease Sucker Punch predictions and protect itself from Toxic, but this removes a valuable coverage move, removes the threat of Will-o-Wisp and removes some longevity. Substitute+Toxic should be the set
Checks and Counters
===================

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Physically defensive Pokemon such as Mareanie and Dusclops can take a hit from Rapidash and cripple it with status. Need to mention more Pokemon such as Golem and Pyukumuku. Also need to explain what they do back to Rapidash since Rapidash can High Horsepower Mareanie and Morning Sun off recoil or chip damage against Dusclops.

However, they must watch out for Choice Scarf. Also, it does matter if they hit Rap with a super effective attack or not because would be able to trade damage and potentially beat them, so fix that wording.

**Priority Moves**: Strong or super effective priority moves such as Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak from Shiftry and Kecleon can take care of Rapidash with just a little prior damage, which is very easy to get, as Rapidash gets worn down really easily. This is more suited for Choice Scarf Rapidash so specify that. Also need to mention that Rapidash can easily outplay them with Wisp+Morning Sun.

**Residual Damage**: Due to a weakness to all entry hazards and the use of recoil moves, Rapidash tends to faint very fast if it does not get an opportunity to use Morning Sun. Mention recoil from Flare Blitz, Wild Charge, and LO.

**Golem**: Golem can take at least one High Horsepower and KO Rapidash in return with its Rock or Ground STAB attacks. Golem can also set up Stealth Rock against Rapidash. However Golem doesn't want to get burned Does not need its own mention since it fits under "phys def Pokemon"

  • Utilize Flash Fire as best as it can, although frail, you can come in on a predicted Fire- Type attack from Simisear and Monferno so you can boost Flare Blitz and hit even harder
  • Rapidash should be brought in safely via Slow pivots. explain why (even if it's obvious you gotta state it)
  • Rapidash should avoid hazard damage when possible as hazards ruing its longevity and is 2x weak to Stealth Rocks
  • Rapidash is one of those Pokemon who rely on perfectly predicted switch ins to threaten better offensively can give an example here
  • Must be cautious with the use of recoils moves like Flare Blitz and Wild Charge with the recoil of Life Orb, as these make Rapidash more prone to priority or faster Pokemon if weakened
Team Options
========

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Toxic can be used over Megahorn if you want to cripple the counters like Golem and Pyukumuku swap order with above point
Set Details
========
  • A Choice Scarf cements Rapidash's role as a formidable revenge killer, enabling it to outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame and threaten out other offensive Pokemon with its powerful STAB attacks and great coverage
Usage Tips
========

  • With a Choice Scarf, Rapidash can serve as a decently fast wallbreaker; it is especially effective against hyper offensive teams, as they often struggle to have a reliable switch-in for Rapidash's attacks. it's a revenge killer or cleaner and not a fast wallbreaker
  • Choice Scarf makes Rapidash prediction reliant and easier to play around. go into more detail here, how should rapidash play because of that?
  • Rapidash is much easier to wear down and should be wary recoil and chip damage. because of the lack of morning sun recovery
Team Options
========

=============

  • Sunny Day can be use in conjunction with Firium Z to boost Rapidash's speed and plays both a revenge killer and sweeper, but it removes the nuke Inferno Overdrive that Rapidash appreciates and is only useful on sun teams. Doesn't remove the nuke because z-flare blitz is still an option. the negatives are that it's mainly used on sun and the lack of wisp makes rap lose its utility
===================

[OVERVIEW]
  • Rapidash has a niche as one of the few pure physical Fire-types in ZU, and it is the best one, as it has superior coverage strong Fire / Electric coverage in Flare Blitz and Wild Charge, higher Speed, and access to instant recovery in Morning Sun (Should mention what that coverage is, also not necessarily superior as Combusken / Camerupt also can have similar and just as good coverage)
  • Rapidash provides great offensive utility and being a great revenge killer due to its solid coverage for the ZU tier, Rapidash is able hit its checks decently well.
  • Rapidash is capable to revenge kill Choice Scarf users with its solid speed when equipped with a Choice Scarf.(Mention which scarfers it beats: Swanna, Vire, ect)
  • Stealth Rock weakness and its terrible bulk hinders its opportunities to repeatedly switch in which is important to note as even with solid coverage, it still fails to break certain walls like Golem and Granbull
  • Rapidash faces competition with other Fire type wallbreakers like Simisear and Monferno Camerupt, former having a set up move in Nasty Plot to effectively wallbreak (Fluff) and latter having a second stab not having a Stealth Rock weakness with its Fighting typing, a second STAB from the aforementioned Fighting type, and provides more role compression (Camerupt is a more relevant Fire wallbreaker than Monf is)
[SET]

move 4: Morning Sun

nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
ivs: 29 HP

(HP Ice on a jolly Rapi is just a to 3hko to phsy def alt and gabite, the former being increasingly less relevant. It shouldn't be on the same consideration of wisp or HH, and it sees no usage anyways, make it an OO not a slash)

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Flare Blitz is Rapidash's main STAB hitting for massive damage, allowing to OHKO threats like Shiftry Leafeon.
  • Will-O-Wisp is used more that HP Ice as it cripples more targets and potential switch ins from physically hurting Rapidash like Granbull and Golem. (Physdef Golem would normally be a good switch into Rapi as it doesnt mind HH but Wisp cripples it heavily)
Set Details
========

  • (Mention the pros of each ability, like how Flame Body lets it be a better switch in to the stabs of resisted physical attackers like leafeon or pinsir. Flash Fire lets it switch into enemy Firium Z users like Combusken or Simisear for the immunity and damage buff)
Usage Tips
========

  • This Rapidash set is best suited as a wallbreaker for Offensive teams and can be a decent cleaner, allowing to clean teams when all faster threats are gone and bulky Pokemon like Poliwrath are weakened (mention a check that needs to be gone before cleaning)
  • Rapidash is one of those Pokemon who rely on perfectly predicted switch ins to threaten better offensively(You already mentioned how it needs to be switched in safely for it to be effective, either reiterate this line in that previous point or delete entirely)
  • Must be cautious with the use of recoils moves like Flare Blitz and Wild Charge with the recoil of Life Orb, as these make Rapidash more prone to priority or faster Pokemon if weakened
  • (Mention to be picky when using its z move, as if wasted Rapidash can no longer 1HKO offensive mons like Kecleon, and also loses its option to have a recoil-less stab)
Team Options
========

  • Rapidash is best settled for offensive teams that struggle with Grass types like Gourgeist-XL and Leafeon
  • Rapidash works very well with hazard removal like Silvally-Water and Shifty Sandslash especially because Rapidash is very vulnerable to hazards. Silvally-Water deals with Rapidash's Ground and Water weaknesses Shiftry makes for a solid offensive core with Rapidash and they both cover each others weaknesses. (Fluff / implied, leave it at just mentioning the hazard removers)
  • Grass types like the aformentioned Gourgeist-XL make for good checks to Water types and Ground types and Gourgeist-XL in particular can prevent the hazards that Rapidash appreciates to have up. (its not prevent, that sounds like it has Taunt, but threatens some hazard users like Golem and Slash)

(Grumpig is irrelevant but even tho Megahorn's coverage is relatively redundant, it may still be used to avoid the recoil when revenge KOing some psychic or grass types, especially if the opponent isn't aware that its scarf)

(Swanna is usually checked by Rapi but not if it is Aqua Jet and Rapi is at half or swanna is at +2. Changed to be at half to specify when Rapi starts to be 1HKO'd by common priority).
