An RU RMT by Feel the Aura
Hey there folks! I had recently gotten really into the RU metagame, and I had made a few teams- some were gimmicks, some weren't- but this one stood among them all. This is by far my most successful RU team (maybe my most successful team ever), it wins me at least five out of every seven battles, but I still feel that it can be improved. It is generally offensive, 4/6 of the mons on the team are all about offense, while the others are defensive mons that still pack a punch.
The idea of this team is to wear down the opponent's team with Sceptile and Bouffalant and facilitate a Feraligatr sweep- so far, that has worked. Another branch idea is to completely and utterly wall attackers using resistances, Nidoqueen, and Cofagrigus. Now that I've told you a little about the team, lets get into the main parts of this RMT.
A quick glance:
Teambuiding process
In-Depth
Afrobull (Bouffalant) @Choice Band
252atk/4def/252spe
Adamant Nature
Ability- Sap Sipper
Head Charge
Earthquake
Megahorn
Stone Edge
Afrobull is such a boss and you know it. Great bulk, high attack, and great abilities in Reckless and Sap Sipper make it awesome. There's the giant Afro too, which is just how bosses do it. I chose Sap Sipper over Reckless as I manage to find many opportunities to switch in and destroy popular pokemon like Tangrowth, Lilligant, Rotom-C, and just about every other grass type in the RU metagame. With a Sap Sipper boost and a Choice Band the only thing in RU that isn't 2HKO'ed by the appropriate move or Head Charge is Cofagrigus, and maybe Duskinoir, but only the living coffin is ever used anyways. Here are some calcs to back up the smack talk:
(ALL CALCS ASSUME SAP SIPPER BOOST)
Chuck (Gallade) @ Choice Scarf
252atk/4spdef/252spe
Jolly Nature
Ability- Justifed
Close Combat
Zen Headbutt
Night Slash
Stone Edge
Choice Scarf Gallade is a fast, powerful revenge killer with great Fighting type STAB. Jolly is used to outspeed more threats, and it is very powerful already. The move choices are fairly standard- I chose Zen Headbutt over Psycho Cut because of its higher power is more important on a choice scarf set.
Its role as a revenge killer is very important. Every good team needs a revenger, and this one is no exception. Being a fighting type is a great boon as well- but it hasn't been up to snuff at times and occasionally has failed to meet my expectations, so I am thinking about replacing it with something slightly faster I don't have to use a speed boosting nature on (sure I could run Adamant, but then its way too slow). Overall a good team member, though not as important as my other Pokemon.
King Tut @ Leftovers
252hp/252def/4spdef
0 spe IVs
Relaxed Nature
Ability: Mummy
Shadow Ball
Will-o-Wisp
Rest
Sleep Talk
Cofagrigus one of the bulkiest bastards in RU- I'm actually quite surprised I don't see it more. Anyways, max defense makes me invincible on the physical side, and Will-o-wisp only makes me bulkier. A burned Feraligatr will only do about 19% with Crunch, quite a feat. Shadow Ball is actually pretty powerful, and Rest-talk induces a plethora of ragequits. The nature and IVs help me against Trick Room teams- it isn't like I was going to outspeed anything in the first place. This coffin is rock solid, and it's always up to snuff.
Not only is it nigh unbreakable- but STAB Shadow Ball coming off base 95 special attack is nothing to laugh at either. Will-o-wisp is a godsend, skyrocketing my defensive capabilities (arguably) past even Regirock or Steelix. It also helps the rest of my team take physical attacks better, especially Sceptile, who, as I mentioned before, doesn't have very good defense. Cofagrigus is amazing- but lets take a look at big daddy.
Wait- Oh yeah, and there's this:
Adamant Choice Band Absol Pursuit (on the switch) vs King Tut: 74.05%-87.5% virtually never a OHKO with rocks
Big Daddy (Feraligatr) @ Life Orb
252atk/4def/252spe
Jolly Nature
Ability- Torrent
Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Ice Punch
Crunch
Last time I checked, the #1 cause of casualties in the Poke-world is Gatr hunting.
With sheer intimidation, Feraligatr can easily set up a Dragon Dance and proceed to sweep. Big Daddy easily gets 2-6 kills per game depending on when I bring it out to massacre the opposing team. A jolly nature allows me to outspeed neutral-natured choice scarfed base 90 speed and below, and well as Sceptile and Aerodactyl. I'm thinking of changing to adamant for the power, because it outspeeds Sceptile with an adamant nature, which is the major Gatr killer. Rotom-C is incredibly annoying, but I just kill it before I bring out Gatr. The moves provide great super effective coverage, the only resist I believe is Crawdaunt, who is 2HKO'ed by Waterfall. All in all- arguably the best set-up sweeper in RU, and an incredible cleaner. Feraligatr's bulk is also very good, with 85/100/83 defenses. Life Orb does slightly negate that, bu tthis Feraligatr is a late game sweeper meant to come out at a time where it can boost and KO the opponent's Pokemon. Why didn't evolve his Totodile into this monster is beyond me...
Legolas (Sceptile) @ Life Orb
252spatk/4spdef/252spe
Timid
Ability- Overgrow
Giga Drain
Leaf Storm
Focus Blast
Hidden Power Rock
God Sceptile is monstrously good.
With base 120 speed and 105 special attack, Sceptile leaves no remains of the opposing team. Life Orb gives a huge boost to its attacks, and its annoying recoil is remedied by Giga Drain. Leaf Storm is insanely powerful, Focus Miss provides powerful (but inaccurate) coverage, and Hidden Power Rock nails Moltres, Entei, Scolipede, and other Fire, Bug, and Flying types for super effective coverage. Jolly is necessary to take advantage of its high speed stat, and it already has enough power as is. Sceptile is also one of the coolest 'mons out there. Legolas is insanely good (both Sceptile and the elf) and is vital to the team as a fast cleaner/revenge killer, and another strong offensive force.
Sceptile's main role on the team is to severly damage the opponent's team so Feraligatr can sweep, similar to Bouffalant's role. Its high speed allows it to check and destroy many threats- Sceptile is irreplaceable.
Nidoqueen (Her Majesty) @ Leftovers
252hp/252def/4spdef
Bold Nature
Ability: Sheer Force
Stealth Rock
Earth Power
Sludge Wave
Shadow Ball
The first thing you might question about my Nidoqueen is: Shadow ball?? Really??? Well, yes, really. Cofagrigus is the reason why- he walls a majority of my team to hell and back and annoys me to no end. Sheer Force boosted Shadow Ball lands quite a bit of damage on Cofagrigus. The other moves are more standard. Earth Power and Sludge Wave for good STAB coverage, and Stealth Rock is for, well, Stealth rock. The EV's allow me to take quite a beating before going down, and Sheer Force gives me a nice boost to my attacks. Nidoqueen's Poison sub-typing is a godsend- getting rid of toxic spikes is a valuable asset for my team. A great team supporter, and she also gives me some nice political power, being a Queen and all. :P
Nidoqueen helps in taking on powerful attackers as well as setting up stealth rock, which is very important, as it helps quite of few of my team members get some crucial KOes. Don't mess with the queen- she's got an army of five pissed Pokewarriors behind her.
So, that's the team. I hope you enjoyed reading this RMT. Please rate and luvdisc!

A quick glance:
Teambuiding process
I started out with a Swords Dance Sap Sipper Bouffalant as the base of my team.
From there I added defensive Eviolite Misdreavus for a defensive backbone, as well as Choice Scarf Primeape as my revenge killer. I also added CB Feraligatr for a powerful wallbreaker.
I needed a speedy and powerful sweeper, and one that didn't die to Rattata's tackle attack (cough.. Accelgor cough Manetric). I ended up choosing Sceptile, my favorite pokemon. Its defense is nothing to write home about, but crazy high speed, great special attack, decent special defense, and the fact that it's a Sceptile made it an incredible addition to the team. Sandslash was added or spinning.
Primeape's base 105 attack was starting to be a bit unimpressive, as was Misdreavus' physical bulk. CS Gallade was subbed in for Primeape, and Misdreavus was replaced by Cofagrigus, whose sheer physical bulk is absurd. Sandslash was replaced with Crygonal, due to Sandslash being dead weight, spinning excepted.
Crygonal was also kind of underwhelming, and then I realized it was the only pokemon on my team weak to stealth rock. Spikes really don't hamper me too much either, so I dropped it for Nidoqueen, who sets up rocks and absorbs toxic spikes, which is a huge plus. And that's the current team.

Not only does Afrobull put the hurt on the opposing team, it also can take a beating. 95/95/95 defenses are definetly above average, and although Bouffalant doesn't possess any resistances, it is only weak to fighting and immune to ghost. Bouffalant aids the team by clearing the way for Feraligatr to sweep. A great Pokemon, and a marvelous afro.Megahorn vs 252hp/252def Relaxed Tangrowth: 87.6% - 103.5% OHKO with rocks
