Rate a Sentimental Team?

So, I should alert you to this before you bash my team: I am incredibly sentimental in my team building. What that means is the following:

1) I never use 2 Pokemon of the same type on my team. I just find another Pokemon to use for the same purpose of a different type.

2) I love using old favorites and seeing what I can do with them, even if it means finding a place to actually use Delibird or Octillery on an OU team.

So without further adieu, here is my (current) OU team.

Shell Shock

Shuckle @ Binding Band

Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 112 Def / 144 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Toxic
- Infestation
- Shell Smash
- Rest

This is my loud and proud staller. With Contrary Shell Smash and Rest, Shuckle can stay in play long enough to outstall (my current record) four Pokemon. The combination of Toxic and Binding Band Infestation can deal massive damage each turn, and forces them to switch or die. Albeit, this set requires quite a bit of prediction, but with +2 Defense and Special Defense, he can simply wait off the two turns of sleep that rest requires and be back in the action. The best part is, infestation doesn't let the opponent switch out to stop the Toxic damage output.

Apollo
Hitmontop@ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef / 30 Spd
- Fake Out
- Bullet Punch
- Mach Punch
- Sucker Punch

Ah yes. The mighty Prioritop set. With my success running it, I'm surprised I haven't seen more use of it in the higher tiers. I'll admit, it is a bit gimmicky, but hitting first every turn with decent damage is more than a little fun, especially when it's with someone who isn't well known, like Hitmontop.

Santa
Delibird @ Leftovers
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
- Mega Kick
- Substitute
- Gunk Shot
- Focus Punch

Before you hate on this little guy, he's an old favorite of mine. Sure his attack is pitiful, and his health is laughable... Okay, okay, you got me. I've actually played around a lot with this spot on the team, so I am wide open to suggestions. This set pretty much explains itself, so go ahead and recommend something.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Huge Power/Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Stone Edge
- Play Rough

This guy is pretty much non-negotiable. I have had ENORMOUS success with him over all of my battles, as a single Swords Dance can make him practically unstoppable. Sucker Punch gives him great priority, and everything else is covered with Stone Edge and Play Rough. He OHKO's practically everything after a +2 attack.

Captain Pike
Sableye @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Confuse Ray
- Taunt
- Foul Play
- Will-O-Wisp

Y'all know why anyone ever uses a Sableye... To take out a physical sweeper, or (it's more common role) to stop someone from setting up. You decide what that means. Whether it's a lead or an offensive attacker, Sableye can easily annoy the (pardon my half-swearing) hell out of 'em.

Meganium @ Light Clay
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 148 SDef / 20 Atk / 88 Def
Careful Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Aromatherapy
- Light Screen
- Reflect

Obviously, this guy is my designated Screener. I poured most of the EV's into SpDef due to the fact that most of his weaknesses are on that side of the spectrum. After putting up dual screens, he can Dragon Tail the opposition out, stop any baton pass chains, and heal his team with Aromatherapy.

Conclusion

Overall, I have found this team fairly dynamic in terms of it's ability to work well together and support each other. Feel free to tear it apart, but be mindful of the sentiment rules I put at the top. I will be sticking to them, even if it means a not very dynamic team. Thanks for reading!

I know it's nostalgic to you but stop using delibird, give shuckle leftovers/chesto berry, and get the Ivs right on your pokes.

I agree with the Delibird thing; He was mostly just for fun. As for Shuckle, I have tested him with both binding band and leftovers, and I find Binding Band more effective. But thanks for the input! Any suggestions on what to fill the Delibird spot with?

I cannot stress how much I recommend recover over confuse ray on Sableye. Confusion can help, but being ridiculously hard to kill with prankster recover is much better.

You could literally replace the Delibird with anything. If you want something physical, Garchomp could be a good choice. A scarf Garchomp could revenge kill anything that gets out of control as well. Cloyster could serve as a sweeper with shell smash, able to hit both physical and special with icicle spear/rock blast/hydro pump. However, a special attacker would probably be better there. Greninja is fast and powerful, a life orb set with surf/hidden power fire/ice beam can hit a lot of things hard. Latios is very potent in all of it's sets, either being powerful when choiced, a setup sweeper, or just an all out life-orb attacker. Thundrus-T can basically do all of the same things as latios with a different typing, so you could choose either. Thundrus-I functions as a more borderline between utility and offense, offering priority taunt and thunder wave with potent offense. All of these recommendations go with your rule of no-two-pokemon-with-the-same-types, so pick among them. Just don't use Delibird (Unless Gamefreak gives us Mega Delibird, fingers crossed).

I personally would recommend either fire fang or knock off over stone edge on Mawile. Fairy/Dark together hits everything but Other Mawiles and Klefkis neutrally, and fire fang would hit them. Stone Edge is a little too iffy with that 80% accuracy, but that may just be me.

Binding band vs. Leftovers on Shuckle is just damage vs. recovery. If you don't think you need the extra recovery, just use binding band.

Well, there are a few things you can change. First off, put 31 IVs on all your mons except 0 in attack for sableye and shuckle to minimize opposing foul play and confusion damage. Secondly, change sableye's item from Sitrus Berry to Leftovers and like the guy above said Recover > Confuse Ray. Instead of using Meganium, I suggest using Espeon > Meganium. While it has less bulk, it's got a great ability in Magic Bounce which can offer some sort of hazard control as well. But in general, your team doesn't benefit too much from dual screens as it is for HO teams. If you must though, the Espeon set looks like
Espeon @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Baton Pass
- Light Screen
- Reflect

Threats such as Mega Zard Y and + 2 Mega Pinsir can sweep through the majority of your team, so switching Delibird for Latias would provide a reliable check to the two.
Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Healing Wish / Roost
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input. i went and revised my team by switching Hitmontop for Noivern and Delibird for Donphan. I gave the Noivern Choice Specs and he wrecks, especially as a Revenge Killer due to infiltrate. The reason I stuck Donphan in there is because not only is his coverage with Earthquake great, he also has access to rapid spin, letting him get rid of Stealth Rocks and who ever is deploying them. This is great because stealth rocks practically destroy my team seeing as 2 of the guys I switch the most are weak to them, and only one of them has reliable recovery.

I should probably mention that I am testing this team for an actual tournament in Pokemon X, so once I find the team, I'm going to have to get them in real life. This means I can't use legendaries, and I feel like Espeon is too hard to obtain. Thanks so much for the recommendations!

I forgot to mention, I will also try Recover over Confuse Ray and see how it goes. Right now I just use a sitrus berry with varying degrees of success, so I will try 'em out and see
