ORAS OU Rate/Fix my Mega Gardevoir Team

Hello there people.

I thought id come here and ask if any of you have suggestions for improvements to my Mega Gardevoir offense team. Gardevoir is my favorite pokemon so a team like this was obvious for me, but im not the best at putting teams together.

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 8 HP / 248 Def / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Will-O-Wisp

First of all, Gardevoir. It's pretty much just the standard wall-breaking type you'll commonly see, with Will-O-Wisp there to catch the likes of Jirachi and Scizor on the switch. Focus Blast is also there as a pseudo "coverage move", in order to counter Steel types that would otherwise check her.

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
- Pursuit

Weaville's main usage is to act as the "Pursuit trapper" of the team, preventing momentum to be gained and catching opponents off guard when they attempt to switch out (like Jirachi/Mega Metagross/Vincini). Icicle Crash and Ice shard are there as potent ice type moves and Knock off enables Weaville to take off Scarf's/Life Orbs/whatever the opposing monster might be carrying. The purpose is as either act as a revenge killer or to Pursuit those mentioned monsters that can potentially check Mega Gardevoir.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Defog
- Energy Ball
- Healing Wish

Latias is here as a potent Dragon type, that can effectively clear hazards for the team and even give Gardevoir (or any other monster) a second opportunity to sweep thanks to Healing wish. Energy Ball is mainly there to check water types or those that manage to resist/have immunity to Draco. Leftovers is to provide passive recovery.

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Protect
- Stealth Rock

Heatran's main role is to be the lead and set up Stealth rocks as soon as possible, but it is also another answer to Steel types that might wish to switch onto Gardevoir. Earth Power is mainly there to manage opposing Heatran's/Fire types and protect is for scouting purposes (to determine if an opponent's monster is scarfed/banded/spec/whatever else). Lava Plume is also Heatran's most effective STAB move and hits the majority of monsters that dont resist it heavily.

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Substitute
- Calm Mind

This set is intended to allow Serperior to act as a secondary sweeper with the correct set up. It is mainly there to check water types and scout using Substitute, whilst calm minding up so that it can simply click 'Leaf Storm' and sweep through the opposing team. Life Orb has a synergy with Overgrow, as it whittles down Serp's HP to the point where Overgrow's boost can apply but it is a risky play.

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder Wave
- Volt Switch

Thundurus's job is mainly to allow Gardevoir/any other monster a free switch in with Volt Switch, although it can also hit hard with Thunderbolt or paralyze an opponent's faster monster with Thunder Wave if need be. HP Ice is there as coverage for mons like Landorous-t who are immune to or resist Electric-type moves.

Any help would be appreciated on this, Thank you.

HI! You have a cool team, I do have some changes for your team. I think you had an idea of what you wanted on the team, the only problem is that you have a lot of unviable sets / moves on some of your pokemons. I think that with these changes your team should be a lot more viable than it was before.

First of all, you have a really offensive team which means you aren't going to have a lot of switchins for some pokemons, you are gonna have to play aggresive to avoid threats coming in for free and most of the time you are gonna have to sack something to let other pokemon revenge kill.

Thundurus-I >
642-therian.png
Thundurs-T:
Thundurus-I is a much better option on this team since it gives you a reliable check to flying types such as M-Pinsir and Talonflame (Thundurs-T gets outsped by M-Pinsir), it also gives you a better T-Wave spammer since it has the ability Prankster which gives this move priority and lets you paralyze pokemons like M-Lop ( if it doesn't go for Fake Out or Quick Attack), M-Zam, M-Zard X and other faster threats.

Fast Heatran > SpDef Heatran:
This gives you one of the best checks to Offensive M-Scizor which at +2 does a huge amount of work vs your team. It still uses Stealth Rocks but it also runs Taunt, this helps vs opposing clefables which is another problem to your team since you don't have much to stop it if it starts setting up. Leftovers > Air Balloon is a better option here since it gives you recovery to check Clefable, Latios and Scizor which it needs.

SubSeed Serperior > Calm Mind:
Calm Mind w/ Overgrow isn't a good set on Serperior and it isn't viable because it has better options such as Contrary w/ Leaf Storm, this means that instead of having a -2 drop it gets a +2 boost from Leaf Storm thanks to that ability. With that said, SubSeed means Substitute + Leech Seed, this is one of the most viable sets for Serperior since it allows it to beat Heatran and Chansey 1v1 if it's played correctly (Use Leech Seed on the switch to Heatran and spam Substitute until it decides to Taunt or when it gets in range of Leaf Storm), this is something that your team appreciates since it allows it to weaken those mons for M-Gardevoir, Thundurus or Weavile.

282-mega.png
Psyshock > Psychic: This isn't a big change since it's only 1 move, but I feel like it's still important because Psyshock helps you vs stall teams since that way you don't give Chansey free switches, I know you don't have Taunt but with Weavile's Pursuit and Serperior's support you can leave it weakened so that way in can't switch into M-Gardevoir. Also a spread of 252 SpAtk and 252 Speed is a lot more viable since it let's Gardevoir take advantage of her massive SpAtk stat.

380.png
Thunderbolt > Energy Ball: Thunderbolt is a better coverage move than Energy Ball since it deals the exact same damage to Azumarill and Keldeo with Thunderbolt and it hits Skarmory, being able to hit skarmory helps M-Gardevoir and Weavile. A spread of 72 HP, 184 SpAtk and 252 speed is more viable since it takes advantage of her bulk and avoids the 2HKO from Thundurus LO HP Ice.

That's it for me. Like I said before your team is going to be weak to some mons, but since it's an offensive team it should be fine as long as you have ways to deal with them. You should watch out for M-Lop, M-Zam and Bisharp, you have ways to deal with them you just have to play aggresive or not let your main ways to check them get too weakened. *Importable of the new team below*
