Hy everyone. So, I'm in Pokemon since some years already but havn't done any strategic team since using Big Bad Pokemon worked pretty good for the few battles I've made in the online but I really wanted to do some nice strategic teams for my amusement so my lack of experience may be really apparent even if I've already won a couple battle with it and I'm not against a little help :
Goodra @ Expert Belt
Ability : Gooey
Evs : 252 HP / 252 SpAtt. / 4 SpDef.
Nature : Modest
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Wave
Because I'm romantic, I wanted to build a team with only Pokemon that my gf finds cute so I decided to build it around Goodra. If played against Pokemon that hit Special, the good SpDef. of Goodra seems to give it some staying power despite a lack of HPs. But his prime job is to cover the maximum of type with the classic BoltBeam combo. Flamethrower is in case of a Magnzone. Sludge Wave is against Fairy type that BoltBeam + Flamethrower don't hit enough like Clefable or Gardevoir.
Lucario @ Life Orber
Ability : Justified
EVs : 252 Att. / 4 Def. / 252 Spd
Nature : Adamant
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Iron Head
- Extreme Speed
He is the second part of the core of this team with Goodra since I thought that Dragon & Steel mixed pretty well. He is replacing M-Mawile that is banned but Lucario have the advantage to fit well where M-Mawile was. Swords Dance when placed well raise the Att. of Lucario. Extreme Speed is here to revenge kill already hurted ennemies even if Ice Punch or something like that could give more coverage. Iron Head & Close Combat are the two main stab that hit pretty well a lot of Goodra Icy/Fairy threat
Excadrill Leftovers
Ability : Mold Breaker
EVs : 252 HP / 4 Att. / 252 Spd
Nature : Careful
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Toxic
I choose him for the same reason as Lucario, he fits pretty well with Dragon and Fairy and is not too threatened by some common M-Mawile counters like M-Charizard X, Heatran or Chandelure. Rapid Spin to get rid off the entry hazards, Earthquake & Iron Head for the stab over the excellent Att. of Excadrill and the not-so-bad coverage. Toxic is to annoy and preparing the ennemy for a M-Mawile / Goodra assault.
Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability : Huge Power
EVs : 228 HP / 252 Att. / 12 Def. / 16 Spd
Nature : Adamant
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Waterfall
- Knock Off
This set is supposed to give to Azumarill a good staying power. The priority of Aqua Jet give it the possibility to be a good revenge killer. Waterfall is the main stab with Play Rough and give Azumarill the power that Aqua Jet don't have. Knock Off is firstly to bitch slap the ennemies object and secondly to give a little more coverage against some of his personal threat like Gengar or Gourgeist.
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability : Technician
EVs : 248 HP / 44 Att. / 16 Def. / 200 Spd
Nature : Adamant
- U-Turn
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
Maybe the Scizorite isn't the best object here. In my mind, the choice between M-Scizor and M-Mawile was difficult and I thought that it will depend on the situation. This set is made to give (M-)Scizor the possibility to switch when Bullet Punch even with Technician/Stab isn't enough to beat the ennemy and Roost isn't enough to save his life. I think that this set have something wrong but haven't disappointed me yet !
Uxie @ Focus Sash
Ability : Levitation
EVs : 196 Att. / 60 SpAtt. / 252 Spd
Nature : Naive
- Stealth Rock
- Fireblast
- Explosion
- U-Turn
The Super-Annoyer. He may be the last on this list but the first when it's time to battle. He throw the entry hazard, Fireblast for a possible Forretress or an Excadrill enemy supposed to do the same, U-Turn when it smell bad for him and Explosion when he's to weak to continue to seriously hurt or even kill the opponent. The Focus Sash give him the ability to survive even the strongest hit (If played before the entry hazard) when he play Stealth Rock and survive for a switch or a suicide bombing !
So, if you see how I can improve this team, let me know !
PS : Very sorry for my bad english, I'm from the land of wine, cheese and triangular trade !
