XY OU Rate my first Sunny Day Team!

Hey guys/gals! This is my first attempt at making a competitive team for OU! Ive heard the news about weather related teams getting hit hard but Ive always enjoyed weather effects such as Sandstorm and Sunny Day so I wanted to make a team that embodied that feeling while at the same time still being able to be competitive.

This team has been battle tested and has about a 50% win rate in a 6v6 battle. Now this team obviously has its shortcomings aside from being a weather based team, however I want to provide a team that is competitive but at the same time is different from the teams you might normally see when battling competitively. Of course, with that there might be some pokemon choices that you might not agree with which is understandable.

I just want some tips on perhaps different movesets and opinions on potentially changing one or two pokemon in order to have more synergy. Thank you very much!

Ninetales (Mozilla)
Nature:
Timid (+speed - attack)
EV: 252 Speed/252 Sp. Atk/ 4 HP
Ability: Drought
Items: Heat Rock
Moves: Solar Beam, Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Will-O-Wisp

Ninetails is generally my lead pokemon. With Drought and Heat rock she can set up Sunny Day for an extended amount of time. I run Solar Beam for a turn one super effective move against water types and rock/ground types that might give me trouble. Ninetails is weak however to water and ground types that happen to be faster than her though or can survive a hit or two. I run will-o-wisp for the extra damage over time and to reduce the attack of a troublesome opponent. With Fire blast and the fact that sunny day is active and my EVS are set for special attack and speed, Ninetails has the potential to be an early special sweeper

Mega-Venusaur
Nature:
Modest (+Sp. Atk - Attack)
EV: 252 Def/ 252 Hp/4 Spd
Ability: Thick Fat
Items: Venusaurite
Moves: Synthesis, Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, Leech Seed

Mega-Venusaur is my physical wall as well as my mega for this sunny day team. With and EV spread of 252 in Def and 252 in Hp and its ability Thick Fat, Venusaur can take some damage. With Sludge Bomb and Giga Drain as its main stab moves I can dish out some damage while also having the chance to poison the opponent. In the case of going against a opponent that stalls, Leech Seed and Synthesis come in handy to keep my Venusaur healthy to continue the battle.

Sawsbuck (Flower-Nerd)
Nature:
Lonely (+Attack - Defense)
EV: 252 Atk/ 252 Speed/4 Def
Ability: Chlorophyll
Items: Life Orb
Moves: Swords Dance, Horn Leech, Nature Power, Double Edge

Sawsbuck is my physical sweeper. Given the opportunity I can set up with swords dance with Sawsbuck and with its EV spread, Life Orb, and Chlorophyll, if the sun is out, Sawsbuck and do some serious damage. Horn Leech is its to go to move with stab, and being able to heal Sawsbuck as well to alleviate some of the damage from Life Orb. It Goes without saying that Sawsbuck is pretty much a glass cannon, being able to dish out a lot of damage but will most likely die with one or two hits. Nature Power is sort of a placeholder because its not really seen in competitive since the attack in reality is tri-attack but it can still have its own uses. Double Edge is a kamikaze move for when Sawsbuck is about to faint and I want to deal some good damage.

Heatran (Spot)
Nature:
Calm (+Sp. Def - Atk)
EV: 248 HP/ 192 Sp. Def/ 68 Spd
Ability: Flash Fire
Items: Air Balloon
Moves: Stone Edge, Flash Cannon, Earth Power, Magma Storm

Heatran is my pseudo-Special Wall. Although not the fastest pokemon or the most tanky Heatran can take a couple hits while still dealing out decent damage. Heatrans major issue was ground types, so I gave Heatran an Air Balloon to solve that problem (which has saved me plenty of times from earthquakes). Stone Edge is for flying types such as Talonflame, Flash Cannon and Magma Storm are his stab-moves, with earth power Heatran has pretty good coverage against most pokemon. Of course being specially defensive and a steel type, Heatran has a hard time with physical Water type moves and basically all Fighting type moves.

Victreebel
Nature:
Modest (+Sp. Atk -Attack)
EV: 252 Speed, 252 Sp. Atk/ 4 Def
Ability: Chlorophyll
Item: Life Orb
Moves: Sludge Bomb, Growth, Solar Beam, Sleep Powder

This is my child. From a shiny Bellsprout to now a shiny Victreebel, this pokemon has stolen my heart. Now from a competitive standpoint Victreebel is not the most ideal Special Sweeper for a sunny day team, with pokemon such as Mega-Charizard Y out there however Victreebel still can be a threat. Once safely put into battle, if the sun is out it can set Victreebel to use sleep powder on its foe and start setting up with growth. Afterwards with Sludge Bomb and Solar Beam Victreebel can start sweeping a team. However As with Sawsbuck, Victreebel is a glass cannon as well, that needs to set-up in order to become an ideal sweeper but only being able to take one or two hits.

Forretress (Contra)

Nature: Relaxed (+Def -Speed)
EV: 252 HP/ 252 Def/ 4 Sp. Def
Ability: Sturdy
Item: Leftovers
Moves: Volt Switch, Toxic, Rapid Spin, Spikes

Forretress is my Spikes set-up and rapid spinner. Forretress is somewhat tanky so he is very reliable for setting up spikes and using toxic on any dangerous opponents. In the case of a switch-in Forretress can use volt switch to safely exit and switch to an appropriate pokemon while the opponent takes some damage from spikes.

I'll leave a rate later, but for now, the biggest issues I see are the fact you pretty much autolose to Heatran once your Heatran is KO'd, and the other is that you have Mega Venusaur, which doesn't benefit much from sun as regular Venusaur would (because regular gets Chlorophyll).

In sun its much more beneficial to run normal Venu over mega since it functions as a better sweeper with chlorophyll, Life orb and Growth. I would recommend changing Victreebel into standard Char Y with EQ in order to provide more sun for your team and also function as a heatran lure which would allow you to remove it since it is such a big threat to your team. The loss of vicreebel doesnt hurt at all since Venu is much better as a sweeper.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Earthquake
- Roost

Venusaur @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Fire
- Synthesis/Growth

Also you should probably replace spikes on Forretress for Stealth rock or if spikes is too valuable you should get it on heatran over stone edge since Stealth rock is arguably the most important move on a team.

Building a Sun team ain't easy, but I'll try to help with threats that'll give you the most trouble. Opposing weather teams are gonna be annoying, so Sunny Day on Ninetales actually serves a purpose by helping out with weather wars. Running 3 grass types is a bit much, and Mega Venusaur doesn't really do much in sun as regular venusaur can in sun. So the first change will be Venusaur > Mega Venusaur because it's a great sun abuser, and Mega Venusaur doesn't really benefit from sun as much as regular Venusaur can. Regular Venusaur outclasses Victreebel, so you could run Mega Houndoom/Mega Diancie > Victreebel. Mega Diancie synergizes well with regular Venusaur, and can also help with Talonflame, which is your biggest threat once Heatran is defeated. Mega Houndoom can abuse sun with it's ability, and it can also absorb fire attacks with Flash Fire before it mega evolves. Diancie also helps with Dragonite, which is also a huge threat since it can get a boost Fire Punch from sun, EQ to KO heatran and Ninetales, and then Dragon Claw/Outrages cleans the rest of your team. Sawsbuck isn't that great, even under sun, and I think adding Defensive Lando-T > Sawsbuck can help you. Right now you really need a good ground immunity, and Lando-T can also check Zard-X, which is another major threat to your team. It can also be your new Stealth Rock user and provide some momentum with U-Turn. Lando-T will be able to quickly get rid of Heatran, which is something your team struggled with before. Hazard stacking is pretty useful, so that's a new benefit you should enjoy. Stealth Rocks also works very well against most of the threats mentioned earlier.

I don't wanna change too much, so I'll end it here and wait to see what you think. The major downside to these changes is that Keldeo is probably your biggest threat, but that's if you can't get your Sun up, so as long as you can do that, you should be fine.
