This is my first LC team and I was wanting to make a semi-serious team with Amaura and Skiddo.

Any constructive criticism and/or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I chose Amaura because it's cute and refrigerate Hyper Voice hits hard. It is the main Pokemon I wanted to build around. Hyper Voice for STAB, Thunderbolt and Earth Power are for coverage. Dark Pulse is emergency Ghastly and Abra, but I am not sure whether Ancient power is any better. I initially decided not to run Ancient power because the coverage is kind of redundant and it has the same base power as Earth Power factoring in STAB. Choice scarf is a great item for Amaura so he can sweep and be faster.

Spritzee is for a fighting resistance plus aromatherapy/wish support. This is my mixed wall, cleric, and Fighting-type check like I just mentioned. Calm Mind boosts SpDef and Draining Kiss, which (obviously) is my only form of damage. I chose Draining Kiss over Moonblast for extra recovery, but Moonblast is also an option. Eviolite is to maximize bulk.

Slowpoke used to be a Chinchou, but my Ground weaknesses were starting to rack up (see Pawniard) It has good type synergy with Amaura, and it excels at speed-control especially helping Pawniard. It's just a basic defensive Smogon set with Scald for STAB and f-blast for coverage. Slack-off is for extra healing, but I'm not sure if it is needed over Psyshock/Psychic. Eviolite because he already has recovery and it maximizes his potential as a wall.

Skiddo is there because I like it... and for a Ground resistance. It deals with Water- and Electric-types that half of my team have trouble with. I also wanted to build around this little guy, and his best option is a Bulk-up set. Horn-leech for STAB and Rock-slide for Flying-type coverage. I am considering replacing Milk Drink with Brick Break just for Pawniard. Eviolite to make setting up easier.

Pawniard- Self-explanatory... You can pretty much throw Pawniard on any team and it will do well.
But seriously, I desperately needed a Steel-type and a Ghost resistance, so Pawniard was the best option. He is a great physical sweeper and he fits very nicely on my team. He gets rid of Ghosts for Slowpoke and he helps keep entry hazards up. Life-orb for extra damage and 9 IV's for 19 HP

Archen- Stealth Rock+Defog
I wanted a Hazard setter as well as a Defogger, and I looked straight at Archen. He also gives me a Ground immunity and his nice attack balances my physical/special ratio. Acrobatics for STAB and Earthquake for Pawniard and other Steel-types that threaten Amaura and Spritzee. Berry juice is for much needed recovery, to mitigate problems with defeatist, and for activating acrobatics.

Hi there, KansanSlowbro!

This is a pretty nice team you have here, especially if it's the first you've made for Little Cup. The offense in the team is nice, the defensive aspect is nicely thought out, and the weaknesses are covered reasonably well. I'm happy to say that there are no glaring weaknesses here, but I have a few minor changes in mind that will enhance your team's performance. :)

Spritzee @ Eviolite
Ability: Aroma Veil
Level: 5
EVs: 60 HP / 196 Def / 16 SpA / 236 SpD -> 212 HP / 196 Def / 12 SpA / 76 SpD / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Calm Mind
- Draining Kiss
- Aromatherapy

This EV spread for Spritzee could be much more efficient. With my suggested change here, you gain 2 extra points in HP, 2 extra points in Special Defense, and a point in Speed, while losing nothing. Watch the sliders carefully in Showdown's teambuilder to tell when you have enough for a stat point to be sure you don't waste EVs! :)

Pawniard @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
Level: 5
EVs: 156 Atk / 36 Def / 120 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 9 HP
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Brick Break -> Stealth Rock

Archen @ Berry Juice
Ability: Defeatist
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 156 Def / 80 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock -> Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Defog
- Acrobatics

These simple changes add more flexibility to the team, as Pawniard's myriad of resistances and ability to apply pressure are generally greater than that of Archen, making it a more viable user of Stealth Rock, and Brick Break isn't very useful outside of hitting opposing Pawniard and the uncommonly found Scraggy. With Stealth Rock now on Pawniard, Archen has a moveslot freed up to allow for another of its STABs to be used, which is fairly important for hitting the Flying-types it is designed to check.

Pumpkaboo-Super @ Eviolite
Ability: Frisk
Level: 5
EVs: 204 HP / 36 Def / 236 SpD / 28 Spe
Careful Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Shadow Sneak
- Synthesis
- Will-O-Wisp

I recommend swapping Skiddo from Pumpkaboo-Super, and I know Skiddo was one of the mons you wanted to build around, so this is entirely optional. However, I'll explain the benefits of going through with this change. In addition to having your Ground resist to switch into the likes of Drilbur, Pumpkaboo is able to burn physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp as well as pick off weakened threats with its STAB Shadow Sneak. The big bonus here, however, is Pumpkaboo's ability to block Rapid Spin. Almost every viable user of Rapid Spin is weak to Grass and will be completely screwed by this thing, to the point that they can't even sacrifice their spinner against Pumpkaboo to remove hazards for their team and take a hit. Rapid Spin fails against Ghost-types, so you can keep racking up Stealth Rock damage to assist your team with KOs.

For reference, XY sprites you can find for projects like this can be found here: http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/xyani/

It will likely become more familiar with experience, but for an immediate reference on how EVs work in Little Cup: http://www.smogon.com/dp/articles/lc_ev_spreads

This concludes my rate! I wish you luck and success with your team! Welcome to Smogon! :)

Hey, I'm going to have to lock this thread, you're not following the RMT rules, you need a 3 lines paragraph describing each mon and its role. PM me with the
necessary changes so I can open the thread for discussion again.
