Hey, I've been making some modifications to a team that I have been running primarily against friends and some events, and I want to see if there are any changes I should make to it to make it better. I also need to add that I am not trying to run legendaries on this team.

Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Earthquake

First, the physical sweeper

Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

Primary job is to set up stealth rock, but can also hold its own in a fight.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp

Act as a pivot for my team and give me some more coverage.

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
- Swords Dance

Remove entry hazards and can also act as a physical sweeper.

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpD
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Wish

Acts as a healer for my team getting rid of nasty status effects, and also acts as a dragon killer

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost

Physical sweeper (plus who doesn't love this guy?)

My team has already went through a few revisions to as it stands now. I am currently kicking around one idea is to replace rotom and excadrill with Bisharp and Starmie. (I need rapid spin, coverage, and a pokemon that can remove items). Let me know what I can do to improve this team.

Hey there!

This is a nice team, but I have some suggestions. First, your team is weak to both Garchomp and Mega Manectric, so I think you should try Clefable over Sylveon. This provides you a good check to them both, and has access to Wish and Heal Bell, just like Sylveon. It can switch into Dragon-types, and 2HKO with Moonblast. Secondly, I think you should try using the tank Garchomp set as this allows you to survive the otherwise OHKO Ice Beam from 252 SpA Manaphy. Garchomp is also able to get down rocks, and force the foe to switch out with Dragon Tail, making them take damage from Stealth Rock. Finally, I didn't realise people still use ChestoRest Rotom-Wash, but, personally, I don't think it's very reliable, as it only works once, and then, it's useless. Therefore, you should stick with Leftovers, and Pain Split over Rest. I couldn't find anything else glaring about your team, so it seems quite fine to me. I hope I helped, and good luck with the team!

Thanks for the tips! The only issue is I would like to put Pain Split and Leftovers on Rotom, but one of the events I use my pokemon in forbids more than 1 of the same item. I'm under the impression that Clefable will also be using leftovers correct?

No, that is only in Smogon Doubles or VGC, one of the two in anyway.

In Smogon a Tiers (such as OU) there is no item clause

The event is a tourney I go to. It's not a smogon thing, I should have specified.

Well, if there is an item clause in place, you could go for the Choice Scarf + Trick set but I personally wouldn't use it, as it limits Rotom's defensive capabilities.

Hello Asperator , and welcome to Smogon!

Unfortunately, this RMT is currently not following the rules which can be found in the RMT Resource Thread; specifically, this thread violates rule #4, because you lack sufficient descriptions for each Pokemon on your team. As such, I am afraid that I will have to lock this thread for the time being. If you would like this thread to be reopened, feel free to PM me with your updated RMT, and I would be happy to reopen this thread for you. If you need help making an RMT up to the required standards, I recommend that you carefully read the RMT Resource Thread and check out other RMTs from the Team Showcase and RMT Archive for some examples.

Good luck with your team, and have a nice day!
