I just made this team yesterday and have battled with it. It's based on countering the biggest threats in Ubers (Xerneas, Kyogre, etc.) However, this team has some major flaws and I would like some advice to make it better.
Here is the team at a glance:
Note: The Blaziken is actually a Mega Blaziken
So here is a deeper look at the team.
Naptime (Darkrai) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Dark Void
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
This Darkrai is meant to serve as an Xern check (obviously not my only one, I'm not an idiot)
It has a Focus Sash so it can tank a Moonblast, and it has Nasty Plot, Dark Void, and Sludge Bomb to pack on the hurt. Obviously Stealth Rock/Spikes throws this strategy out the window, so I have other Xern counters/checks. I might put Defog on Waterceus too. Speaking of Waterceus...
Arceus-Ice (Arceus-Water) @ Splash Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Judgment
- Thunder
- Will-O-Wisp
- Ice Beam/Spacial Rend/Defog (I don't know yet)
This Waterrceus is meant to serve as a Kyogre check, so I put Thunder on it to make use of Kyogre's rain. I realize that Kyogre can also use Thunder, so I might replace this with Grassceus. I'm torn between Ice Beam and Spacial Rend because Ice Beam counters Skymin, but Spacial Rend counters Palkia. I also think that Steelceus could work as another GeoXern counter, because most of this team is very frail defensively. (BTW I named this thing Arceus-Ice in case n00bs try to use Fire moves on it :P)
GIMME HUGZ NAO (Ferrothorn) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Curse
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
I know what you're thinking:
OML NO LEECH SED + LEFTIEZ DIS FERROTHRONN IS SUX
I know.
This Ferrothorn is meant to be more offensive, and it works quite well as a GeoXern counter (unless the Xerneas has HP fire >_<)
It has Curse to power up Gyro Ball by raising its attack AND lowering its speed, plus the defensive boost helps it tank better physically. It also has Power Whip so it gains more coverage, and Stealth Rock to set up. The Rocky Helmet helps punish physical attackers against this Pokmon.
鸟是字 (Lugia) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Toxic
- Psychic
- Aeroblast
- Roost
In case you were wondering, 鸟是字 is Chinese for "bird is the word." Thank heavens for Google Translate.
People seem to have a problem with Psychic Lugia. I don't see why because it is a good STAB move. Tell me what you think please :3
Anyway, this Lugia is mainly to tank the moves from some of the biggest threats in Ubers:
+2 252+ SpA Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Lugia: 313-370 (75.2 - 88.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Kyogre Water Spout (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Lugia in Rain: 306-361 (73.5 - 86.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
(too bad specs OHKOS >_<)
Basically, the strategy is tank hits + Roost & Toxic. Aeroblast and Psychic for coverage. This is the mon that I am pretty sure needs a lot of work along with Gliscor :/
no xern allowed (Gliscor) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature
- Protect
- Substitute
- Earthquake
- Cross Poison
This thing is meant to server as an Xerneas counter (hence why it has Cross Poison) but I'm concerned about the fact that Gliscor can't tank a Moonblast :C
It's also a Poison Healer just to annoy people, but I don't know if this Pokemon is right for my team. Can anyone tell me if there is a better one than Gliscor?
#burntotheground (Blaziken-Mega) @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
- Low Kick
This Mega Blaziken is on my team as a Darkrai check, because I don't really have one. I can use Protect and get off a Low Kick before Darkrai can put me to sleep. I was going to make this a SwordsPass Blaziken, but that doesn't really fit my team aside from Ferrothorn :/
This Mega Blaziken has Protect so I can utilize its Speed Boost to become faster, and it also has Flare Blitz and Low Kick as coverage moves. Knock Off serves as a way to counter Psychic Types (specifically Mewtwo Y.)
So here's what I want to know:
- Should I use a different Arceus Form?
- What move would be better than Psychic on Lugia?
- What should I replace Gliscor with?
- Should I keep my Ferrothorn offensive or make it defensive?
Thank you in advance,
MegaMan775
