Hello all, (This is my first smogon post, yay!)
I was looking for some input on my team I just made today. I have extremely minimal experience in OU but I had some success with it. The team seems to center around revenge killing things with enamorus or forcing switches to pivot into sweepers that have good defensive synergy with enamorus!

Jill Scott (Gholdengo) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Make It Rain
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
- Nasty Plot
Goldhengo is mostly here as a very importabt pivot into resisted attacks, spin blocker, status avoider/absorber, and mostly uses the steel type coverage to dent things. It seems like the offensive muscle of this team doesn’t require such an offensive set, especially since I haven’t found a good niche for its speed tier. I considered changing it, but I may not because against fat teams (which don’t look to be the meta), he owns.
Mamoa (Great Tusk) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
Tusk is for role compression to spin and get ‘em up. Ice spinner is the main attack I’ve been using. This team does not have knock off, which I just noticed. Therefore, I would like to run it on him, but I have no clue what I would sacrifice. The only thing I thought of would be putting rocks or knock on deoxys, which doesnt seem make sense on the nasty plot set, which has been the main killer alongside enamorus.
Katyperry (Primarina) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Torrent
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Psychic Noise
- Surf
- Flip Turn
Obligatory fat mon to help me not get overwhelmed by strong special attackers. Forces switches against things it either walls or kills and flip turns out, or spams a stab move that’s unresisted by the opponents team later in the game. Tera grass gives me an answer to Ogerpon-W that isn’t just general offensive pressure.
Splinter (Kingambit) @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Kowtow Cleave
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Low Kick
Pretty standard stuff. I love playing sucker punch mind games. Tera dark provides a way to ohko common switch ins like corv after a boost! Also provides great defensive synergy by resisting two of enamorus’ weaknesses. Having ghold to also provide those same resists (plus fairy resist) makes it less likely that either one of them get overwhelmed by having to pivot in too often.
WhatisTHAT (Enamorus) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Contrary
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Healing Wish
- Mystical Fire
- Moonblast
The star of the show, pairing with deoxys to have two good forms of speed control of different levels to revenge kill pretty much anything. Very satisfied with this pokemon so far! Healing wish can give someone another chance to sweep, especially if I’m ahead on sacs already, giving me some options to potentially switch an endgame situation in my favor.
Flash (Deoxys-Speed) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Psycho Boost
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
The other star of the show. Deoxys can bluff a lead set by coming out first and capitalize on powerful matchups against some common opposing leads, KOing some things or setting up on some other leads. Extremely strong revenge killer, which keeps applying pressure throughout the match. Also, I love playing the focus blast game too.
I did a bunch of research in one day then created this team, and I haven’t played much OU this gen (only like ten-15 games with this team with only a couple losses , so I don’t have too much knowledge about what it’s good or bad against. I want to get feedback and potentially improve the team before I get to mid ladder! Thanks so much for any input!
P.S sorry if I posted the team funnily, idk how to make the cute pastebin with sprites. If someone wants to tell me how, that might not be pertinent to the immediate topic, but it would be appreciated!
