Venusaur (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 110 Def / 146 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leech Seed
- Sleep powder/Earth Power /Synthesis/growth
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
I’m liking growth on Venusaur at the moment. Venuasaur is basically for spamming leech seed and healing with giga drain. It does have a few threats in OU so you have to know when to switch out. I find a lot of times people send ferrathorn against it just because they get annoyed by leech seed spam. This allows you to set up growth and outsurvive it with giga drain. If you have a few growths set up when they decide to switch out ferrathorn, giga drain starts to hit much harder which is when the fun begins
Charizard (F) @ Choice Scarf /choice spec/heavy duty boots
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast
- Hurricane
Boots are probably the safest option. Stealth rock is common so not having half of Zard’s hp wiped out is important. Hurricane is a powerful STAB move that has pretty good coverage in the meta game. It can 2hko Toxapex and clef with choice specs. So when they switch in to zard they end up getting 2hko. My item of choice is choice specs but one has to keep up with rapid spin or zard would be much too fragile to be useful.
Blastoise @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 124 SpA / 132 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rapid Spin /dragon pulse
- Yawn
- Scald
- Shell Smash
Rapid spin is charizard’s best friend. Yawn is great for setting up shell smash. I’ve forgone rapid spin for dragon pulse in the past. After shell smash blastoise rips through teams in the end game if it has dragon pulse. The 132speed EV allows it to outspeed non choice Pokémon in meta game after shell smash.
Pikachu (F) @ Light Ball
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Nasty plot/Encore
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
it’s too bad Pikachu has mediocre speed. With lightball Pikachu has Sp.attack stat of 399. Not bad as a sweeper, especially when you can get in a Nasty plot when you force a switch. Extreme speed allows it to have some utility as revenge killer. This team does not have hazer so encore can at least ruin slower Pokémon trying to set up.
Snorlax (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 SpD
Impish Nature
- Curse
- Body Slam
- Darkest Lariat /fire punch
- Rest
This buff Pokémon is perfect for switch in in the early game when you’re trying to get a feel for your opponents move sets. Darkest Lariat is nice for hitting ghost types hard that think they’re immune to body slam. Some may prefer fire punch for dropping those damn ferrathorn that try to set up leech seed on you. Body slam causes paralysis 10% of the time which I find is more helpful than the extra power from facade/ret
Butterfree (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane
- Sleep Powder
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
Pretty self explanatory. Sleep powder then quiver dance. Like most of Ash’s OG Pokémon it doesn’t have the best speed which ruins its usefulness. Pulling this guy off requires a bit of luck.
I’m hovering around 1200 on ladder. Help me get to 1400 guys! I wish Ash had some stealth rock users on his OG team.
