Ok so this is my first time posting one of these, I haven't played a whole lot of competitivve battling since about BW2 so im still new to the 6th gen meta/mechanics and what not, so i may have overlooked or not known about some other obvious or better choices but any advice on how to better this team will be much appreciated. Thank you, and with that being said lets start!
(Lead) Shuckle @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Encore
- Infestation
OK so I know he's not too popular in OU, but i chose shuckle because I have some slow, yet powerful, threats on my team that can benefit from the Sticky web and SR support and he is a relaible way to get them up.The mental herb to atleast get one of the entry hazards out without worrying about taunts. went for the encore/infestation to hopefully trap and trade to an appropriate counter. He can also take those unwated, potentially devastating, attacks for the rest of the team and barley flinch.
Azumarill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
- Waterfall
A very good offensive pivot for the team just to keep momentum going and with his typing and bulk can switch in fairly easily. Took AV vest to best handle Spec Keldeo and not to mention just to give a little extra beef in the SpD area. The moveset pretty standard stuff to help azumarill hurt faces.
Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stone Edge
With his typing, natural bulk, and great offensive threat he was a good choice here and with the help of the sticky web to make him seem that much faster without locking him into 1 move as with a scarf. Took the lum berry to be a party pooper to those would be will-o-wispers. Ran the dragon claw over outrage just incase they held onto a fairy or steel type for a certain dragon sweeping machine'o doom and I dont want to get trapped and set up on.
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Flash Cannon
- Earth Power
- Stone Edge
This particualr Heatran I did for the WTF factor because SpAtk sweeper heatran always surprises me and he brings a very strong mid/late game threat and he also covers resistances very well for Scizor. With the choice scarf and sticky web it just makes him even more of a menace to those without levitate/flying. Overheat is the primary revenge move, went with earth power to get rid of other Heatrans, stone edge again to throw people off and think hes all SpAtk, and flash cannon to get dem fairies!
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
Chose Scizor as my mega to get that extra bulk and is the primary trade in to fairy types and to dragon types who might not have an affective answer to him. With U-Turn and his low speed it allows me to safely switch in my faster, yet more frail, threats and keep the strong momentum this team carries. Went the defog route for the fact that he can do it very reliably and still maintain healthy with roost
Gengar @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 8 HP / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hex
- Sludge Bomb
- Will-O-Wisp
- Substitute
Gengar is primarily in here as a spin blocker and to take that opportunity to set up....and cuz Gengar. Went with Hex to hit those pesky toxic orb Gliscors harder than a shadow ball would, sludge bomb over sludge wave because I think the higher % for poison is worth the small decrease in power. Will-o-wisp to potentially halt the slower physical sweepers and substitue to remain safe while gengar does what he does best.
Thanks for reading and looking forward to the responses!
