Hey guys, so this is my first time posting a team here. I've been working on many pokemon in a competitive manner for months now. Many of my friends also have ou teams, and my current team does fairly well against them, but I'm aware of a pretty large flaw in my team. First off, here is my current team. All IVs are perfect/near perfect (unless unnecessary, such as Staraptors Sp atk). Here's my current team:
Staraptor @Choice Band
Intimidate
Adamant
4 def/252 Atk/252 Spe
Brave Bird
Return
Close Combat
U-Turn
Staraptor's very powerful and I find he can scare out some common leads, such as Infernape, and I have yet to run into a lead that scares it out, but I know they're out there (HP Ice Gengar, for example). If he does have an unfavorable matchup and is not outsped by them, he can simply U-turn out. I also find that intimidate is often useful right off the bat.
Claydol @ Item Pending (I use a sitrus berry in lv 50 battles with friends)
Levitate
Calm
252 HP/252 Def/4 Sp Def
Stealth Rocks
Rapid Spin
Ice Beam
Earth Power
Claydol is obviously mainly used for setting up my rocks. However, levitate and a ground typing let him switch in on many types of moves in order to set up rocks. While he has more common weaknesses than I'd like, I find he plays his role well. Rapid Spin is an added bonus, especially in conjunction with levitate.
Scrafty @ Life Orb
Moxie
Adamant
126 HP/ 252 Att/ 126 Def
Drain Punch
Dragon Dance
Stone Edge
Crunch
While his EVs aren't perfect (He was my first EV Train), Scrafty plays his roll brilliantly as a mid-late game sweeper. He can set up one, sometime two dragon dances on many pokes, and proceed to Drain Punch his way through the team. Life Orb works well with drain punch, increasing its power greatly with the health loss from Life orb being lowered from the HP gain. If given just one turn to set up on a favorable match-up, He can easily sweep an entire team.
Weavile @ Ice Gem
Pressure
Jolly
252 Att/4 Def/252 Spe
Ice Shard
Night Slash
Pursuit
Brick Break
Weavile functions mostly as my revenge killer. He scares out many psychic/ghost types, but can simply pursuit them. Ice Gem/Ice Shard is phenomenal, and kills nearly anything weak to it. Weavile kills most dragons, due to 4x Ice Shard.
Hydreigon @ Choice Specs
Levitate
Modest
64 HP/252 Sp Atk/192 Spe
Dragon Pulse
Draco Meteor
Flamethrower
Surf
Hydreigon is obviously an all-out Special attacker. STAB Draco Meteor obliterates a vast majority of the metagame, and it has superb coverage to switch into. He's easily threatened by speedy bugs, such as Accelgor, however.
Jellicent @ Leftovers
Cursed Body
Bold
252 HP/252 Def/ 4 Sp Def
Scald
Will-o-wisp
Taunt
Recover
Jellicent functions as my stall-breaking wall. Will-o-wisp and scald do well with the burning, recover is obvious, taunt prevents setting up. It's also quite easy to switch him into many predictions.
So. I'm aware that my team is very weak to Fighting types, and that other than Staraptor, Jellicent is my only defense to Fighting at all, through its ghost-typing and burn capabilities. So what I want to know is what the smogon community thinks I should do to help it? Who should I replace, and with what, to combat fighting-types more effectively? Also, are there any other major flaws that you can see on my team? Also, what would be a good item for claydol?
Thanks very much everybody.
