Standard Team
Nasty Plot Sweeper (Lead)
Porygon-Z @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
- Tri Attack
- Dark Pulse
- Nasty Plot
- Hidden Power (Fighting)
Nasty Plot catapults Porygon-Z's already monstrous Special Attack to new heights, and with a single boost, it becomes difficult to stop. Adaptability makes Tri Attack, already a powerful move, almost unstoppable. Hidden Power Fighting and Dark Pulse cover the resistances to Porygon-Z's Normal STAB.
SpecsMence
Salamence @ Choice Specs
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Nature: Modest (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Draco Meteor
Draco Meteor is the move to be used early on in the battle for beating holes into Salamence's opponent while Dragon Pulse is used later on in the battle for sweeping purposes, generally picking up the scraps. Since only one type resists Dragon Attacks (Steel), Flamethrower is a necessity. It can hit incoming Steel types for super effective damage. Hydro Pump hits Heatran nicely and will out damage Draco Meteor against Pokémon who take super effective damage from it.
Swords Dancer
Garchomp @ Life Orb
EVs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spd
Nature: Jolly (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Swords Dance
Both of Garchomp's STAB moves, Dragon Claw and Earthquake, together are only resisted by Skarmory and Bronzong. Fire Fang, which is boosted Swords Dance, can easily take care of that problem.
Choice Band
Tyranitar @ Choice Band
EVs: 60 HP / 252 Atk / 198 Spd
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Crunch and Stone Edge both benefit from STAB and Tyranitar's massive Attack stat and will be Tyranitar's main methods of attack. Earthquake helps to cover some Steel types such as Magnezone and Lucario and hits Metagross and Jirachi. Pursuit hits a fleeing enemy for the same damage as Crunch would and OHKOs almost everything that is weak to it.
Special Wall
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 150 HP / 252 Def / 104 SAtk / 4 Spd
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Atk)
- Sing
- Ice Beam
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
Blissey will switch into any special attacker, and Seismic Toss or Sing accordingly, restoring her HP with Softboiled as needed. Ice Beam gives Blissey an additional offensive move. It stops Ghosts with Substitute from walling Blissey completely (such as Gengar), makes Dugtrio and Garchomp think twice about switching into Blissey and will occasionally cause a freeze.
Physical Wall
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
EVs: 6 Atk / 252 HP / 252 Def
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SAtk)
- Ice Fang
- Slack Off
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
Slack Off is a good, reliable form of 50% recovery, Ice Fang easily wards off physical attacking Dragons, and Earthquake can ward off special sweepers such as Heatran and hits hard off 150 Base Power and good Attack. Stealth Rock is a good support option.
The Pokémon Analyses were taken from Smogon, Serebii and Pokéthology. The sprites were taken from Pokémon Elite 2000.
