My team at a glance:
Starmie @ Lifeorb
Trait: Natural cure
EVs: 4 / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Surf
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Icebeam
Okay here's the leader of this squad and my main sweeper. Once I clear out Starmie's usual walls such Ferrothorn or Blissey/Chansey and any other threats it usually sweeps the remainder of the squad with ease due to it's great speed/coverage. Takes down all dragons with ease any aerial/ground types like Tornadus/Landorus, Gliscor etc. I chose Psychic just so I can 1 hit Conkeldurr really as opposed to psyshock letting him survive. If Psyshock could at least 2HKO Blissey then maybe I'd use it.
Problems: None really.
Blaziken @ Focus sash
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Att/252 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Att, -SpA)
- Flare Blitz
- Hi Jump Kick
- Brave Bird
- Agility
Here goes Starmie's wingman taking care of everything that Starmie doesn't for super effective damage and vice versa. I chose his ability to be blaze since SB blaze is banned and chose to run Focus sash along with agility to get the same effect but legally. Focus sash guarantees an agility allowing him to even out speed those who do carry speed boost and from there I rely on his raw power to punch a hole in everything else. He takes care of bulky rock/fighting types and common walls that stop Starmie.
Problems: I love how agility blaziken works and usually one hits his opponents provided it hits for super effective damage however those times focus sash is activated 2 of his moves always have recoil which ends blaziken all though he always does take out at least one pokemon. Might switch brave bird for mirror move. Also some say he is banned all together but that's just overdoing it in my book and banning SB blaziken is unnecessary as well when there are so many priority moves.
Venusaur @ Grass gem
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 190 SpA / 66 SpD
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
- SolarBeam
- Sunny Day
- Synthesis
- Sludge bomb
Here is my answer to very common rain/sand teams and the less common hail teams. Venusaurs duty is to come in and use sunny day to activate his own clorophyll since I'm not running a full fledged sun team. From there his EV spread allows him to even take a sun boosted fire blast from tyranitar due to his already good specially defensive bulk and usually tanks anything from politoed/abomasnow as well. Now that chlorophyll is in effect I come with a grass gem boosted Solar Beam for tyranitar/politoed and OHKO and the rest of their team is usually swept as well with solarbeam whether type its ground from sand or water type from rain . For Abomasnow we have sludge bomb, honestly not too sure if it's a ohko though.
Problems: He's okay all together and he's great at doing his job at stopping weather teams but outside of that I normally wouldn't bring him to a battle unless I see a gastrodon or a swampert hangin around.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP 252 Att 4 Def
Adamant Nature (-SpA, +Atk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Brick break
- Night slash
On this team Scizor is my main priority move user and provides two great stabs in bullet punch and U-turn taking care of ice/rock types and psychic and dark and even ghost/grass/dragon types with ease. Then he hit's everything for at least neutral damage with the dual screens shattering brick break and night slash.
Problems: none :)
Jolteon @ Choice specs
Trait: Volt absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Volt switch
- Shadow ball (getting signal beam instead soon)
- HP grass
Jolteon is scizors lil partner in crime lol using the volt turn force they provide keeps great offensive pressure on all threats and volt absorb is great for taking incoming electric attacks meant for starmie. With it's great speed and it's STAB choice specs boosted thunderbolt it punches holes through everything that doesn't resist it.
Problems: None.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Att 252 Spe 4 HP
Adamant Nature (-SpA, +Atk)
- Dragon dance
- Outrage
- Fire punch
- Extreme speed
Dragonite needs no introduction but on my team he usually always succeeds well as a late game sweepers once his threats are gone. It's very hard to stop him from setting up with dragon dance thanks to multiscale and lum berry the rest from there is pretty easy. Extreme speed is just dragonites life insurance on this set taking care of any possible revenge killers.
Problems: Too many people rage quit against him.
That's the team. Thoughts/opinions/suggestions?
Are there any significant threats to my team?
