SS OU Rate my ~Pokémon I enjoy~ OU Team!!

Hey y'all!

Been a while since I built teams (since like gen 6) and I'm getting back into competitive battling. Just decided to make a team with Pokémon I enjoy and was wondering if it was viable, or if there are any major gaps/flaws in the structure. After a few test runs it's fared quite well but I know the people on these forums have an eye for potential weaknesses :) Any criticism is appreciated! Thx

Disclaimer: While I am fairly well versed in the metagame, I don't have a working knowledge of every single Pokémon in this tier, so descriptions may be lacking where I am unsure of exactly how to use a mon or what its counters might be. Tips and usage advice are more than welcome!

:ss/Urshifu-Rapid-Strike:
Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Ice Punch

Main intention here is to have a relatively fast Poké who can dish out big damage and hopefully 2HKO some bulkier targets. Aqua jet to deal quality damage to faster mons like scarfed Lando or scarfed Victini. Ice punch to hopefully deal good damage to the Mandibuzzes and Venusaurs of the world. Also considered Thunder Punch so any thoughts on that are welcomed.

:ss/Ninetales-Alola:
Ninetales-Alola @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Aurora Veil
- Freeze-Dry
- Moonblast
- Hypnosis

Aurora Veil cus why not?! I'll usually switch out after putting veil up to keep Ninetales around to either get rid of sun/rain/sand later on, or if I wanna put veil up again later in the battle. Hypnosis is also a great (albeit unreliable) way to put a stop to anyone trying to gain momentum. I like to switch into Corviknight and Bulk Up cus Corv's leftovers helps with hail damage and non-stab unboosted fire/electric moves don't do much under aurora veil.

:ss/Corviknight:
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Mirror Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Iron Head
- Brave Bird
- Bulk Up

Bulk Up Corviknight is so fun to use imo due to the fact that to my knowledge, no physical wallbreakers can take it down easily. Considering adding Roost for recovery but not sure what to get rid of. I like having Iron Head to deal w/ fairies but Heatran (see 6th poké) exists so not sure I need that. Also +2 Brave Bird deals very solid damage across the board in my experience.

:ss/Tapu Koko:
Tapu Koko @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Grass Knot
- U-turn

This thing slaps ! Terrain boosted thunderbolt w/ specs makes me very happy :P grass knot for the baddies who wanna resist tbolt like seismitoad and quags, and U-turn for those times where u switched in but maybe didn't mean to O_O

:ss/slowking:
Slowking @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Scald
- Teleport
- Slack Off
- Future Sight

Needed something a little ~slower~ paced to hopefully act as a special wall and maybe place a burn on those pesky physical sweepers ?! ^__^ I'm not partial to Slowking so any substitutions here are welcomed (NOT TOXAPEX. I DISLIKE IT)

:ss/Heatran:
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP / 20 SpA / 244 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Flash Cannon
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power

Honestly I just like using magma storm cus of the "will it miss when you need it most? probably." frustration. Also yay 4 stealth rock!! Also Timid + 244 Spe is surprisingly quick and I've found it able to outspeed and finish off some would-be threats like Tapu Fini

I like your RMT! But try adding more detail to the descriptions of your mons. Also, I don't know about Alolan Ninetales I don't really see that in the metagame and frankly not very viable to me.

Also, I don't know about Alolan Ninetales I don't really see that in the metagame and frankly not very viable to me.
That's weird! It feels like I see it everywhere. I've also been vibing around 1100-1300 so maybe it gets less popular higher up

Hi, interesting team overall that I think could take 2 different directions which I'll talk about both of, but first off I do agree with the above that Alolan Ninetales doesn't fit as it's a very HO style mon that only is used for veil and this team is really balance based so veil doesn't benefit anything while just having Ninetales to hold things back. I'll go through minor changes that I'd make on both styles regardless, but 1 is built around BU Corviknight like you said was a fun mon on the team, and one is built around defensive Corviknight as the team lacks a Defog user.

Minor Changes:
:urshifu-rapid-strike:
Ice Punch --> U-turn

U-turn is always great for generating momentum, and Ice Punch doesn't really hit anything relevant especially when you could either just pivot on them with U-turn or set up a Future Sight beforehand. Small change but Urshifu really likes U-turn especially with how good Slowking is in the meta currently.

:slowking:
Max Sp.def

If you have calcs in mind for the defense by all means go with it if they're important, but I don't see a need for it really. Max Sp.def just gives that extra bit of bulk against special mons, making them easier to beat overall.

:heatran:
Fast --> Sp.def
Flash Cannon --> Taunt

Standard set here, and the one I think is generally better. Flash Cannon doesn't really benefit Heatran when it can just Taunt fairies, and if anything Heavy Slam is a cool tech option for trapping GSlowking as a steel move but just the standard one is good here.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 128 SpD / 128 Spe
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
Now, for both routes I think the team could take. They're both based around the Corviknight which the set will change, but I'll go through both and their reasonings.

Major Changes Option 1, Defensive Defog Corviknight:
:corviknight:
Changing the set to Defog for this option, gives more bulk against things like Kartana, Rillaboom, and Garchomp among other things while giving Defog support, combining the defensive roles needed of a bulky steel and defogger into 1 mon.
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- U-turn
- Brave Bird

The way Ninetales is changed also does change based on the Corviknight, so for this version I'm suggesting:

:ninetales-alola: --> :landorus-therian: :choice-scarf:

The team is fairly slow overall if left alone, and also doesn't have an Electric-type resist barring Non-Roost Tapu Koko. Combining both speed control and an electric resist, I think offensive scarf Lando-t is the best fit here. Also revenge kills Dragapult which is super annoying for this team to face, so pretty helpful overall imo.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge

Now, if you wanted to go for offensive Bulk Up Corviknight, then I'd recommend these changes:

Major Changes Option 2, Bulk Up Corviknight:
:corviknight:
The standard BU Corviknight runs a fairly different set, usually fully specially defensive since it's boosting its physical defense with Pressure to pp stall attackers, and a few different moves as well which is the set I'll recommend here.
Corviknight @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bulk Up
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Substitute

:slowking: --> :slowbro:
Without physically defensive Corviknight, Garchomp can kinda run through the team after 1 boost since you only have offensive checks. This weakens the Heatran MU but heavily improves the Garchomp MU while covering other things like Excadrill, something that's well worth imo. Same set as Slowking just a physically defensive version. Specially Defensive Corviknight also covers against Tapu Lele, and while Nidoking is now harder you have offensive pressure for it and can play around it still with smart pivoting into Urshifu.
Slowbro @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Future Sight
- Teleport

:ninetales-alola: --> :Tornadus-therian: OR :dragonite:
Without Corviknight around to Defog, naturally the Ninetales slot has to go to a Defog user. I couldn't decide what to go with here so I'll put up both options, both of which have their own merits. Tornadus is a faster Knock user who isn't as hurt without boots or by status because of regen, while Dragonite strengthens the Heatran Match Up a lot while also defogging and beaing some other relevant mons. Torn can at least pivot once into Heatran though and U-turn out to force mind games with your own, but up to preference here imo. Brave on Dragonite with no attack investment is just so it can always OHKO Heatran, making that even better for it.
:tornadus-therian:
Tornadus-Therian @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Defog

:dragonite:
Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Defog
- Ice Beam

Updated RMT Defensive Corviknight (pokepast.es)
Updated RMT BU Corviknight (pokepast.es)
Updated RMT BU Corviknight Dragonite (pokepast.es)

Here are the 3 pastes for the options I put out, I hope one of them suits what you like! It had a good core to work with at the beginning, just depending on the Corviknight a few things needed to be switched up and Ninetales going really makes the team more structurally sound, so I hope these do well for you. (edited on brave nature on dnite as you don't need the speed and I had the wrong set initially)

Thanks so much! These are awesome tips and I'll be sure to incorporate them. Having defog completely slipped my mind and while aurora veil is helpful sometimes I think you're right that that spot could be better filled by lando torn or dragonite.
