Other Rate my Sun Biased Triples Team!

I made a Triple Battle team that's doing pretty well at the moment but I want to know what you guys think of it.

Melody (Talonflame) (F)@ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
-Brave Bird
-Flare Blitz
-Will-O-Wisp
-Protect
tumblr_n9817fY9qc1qckwxco1_500.gif

I wanted to use Talonflame mostly because of favoritism although she is very good at doing what I need her to do. Brave Bird and Flare Blitz are the obvious STABs that can can kill a lot of things. Protect is there to well..... protect her from opposing attacks while letting teammates do the damage. Will-O-Wisp is a very important move here because it can cripple one of her best checks: Tyranitar, not to mention a lot of the other physical attackers too like Mega-Kangaskhan. I usually send her out first along with 2 other team members to deal quick damage as well as spread burn status as fast.

Chloe (Venusaur) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 180 HP / 252 SpA / 76 Spe
Modest Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Sleep Powder
- Protect

My sun Sweeper. She's so frigging fast with chlorophyll that she doesn't need full investment in speed. Despite only having her dual STAB for attack, Sleep Powder is always nice to have to put something out of commission. I also have her to cover Water and Electric for my team.

Efreet (Charizard) (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Protect

Standard Charizard-Y set for doubles actually working for triples. Heat Wave boosted by Sun kills almost everything except for a few which solar beam and focus blast can cover, like Tyranitar and Rhyperior. Since his ability is Drought I considered using him not only to aid Venusaur but also to combat other weather because otherwise my team will get wrecked.

Aerodash (Latios) @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Psyshock
- Tailwind
- Protect

Aside from Venusaur under the sun, this thing right here (gee I wonder what it is), and Talonflame, my teams overall speed is average at best so that's why I'm using an Offensive Tailwind variant of Latios. Plus after a tailwind, no weather sweeper can outspeed unless they use priority which isn't much of a problem for him (aside from Sucker Punch.) Plus, Dragon/Psychic is just an awesome typing overall.

Landmaster (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

I've noticed the EdgeQuake weakness my team had so I added Landorus-Therian to patch that up and have Intimidate support. U-turn is also helpful for the momentum too. Stone Edge is there to bypass Wide Guard and hit Talonflame while Rock Slide gives good spread damage.

Bulldozer (Terrakion) @ Focus Sash
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Slide
- Close Combat
- Protect
- Quick Guard
tumblr_n2gckgog5T1rjenv2o1_500.gif

Terrakion is pretty much just there to provide insurance against priority with quick guard and still do some decent damage with it's STAB.

Threats (at least the ones that I know of to this team):

Talonflame (nothing can take Brave Bird besides Landorus-Therian which can get crippled by Will-O-Wisp.)

Rain/Sandstorm (most of them tend to carry weather sweepers which means I NEED to win the weather war unless Latios can set up Tailwind in time.)

Trick Room (I can't stop Trick Room from getting set up unless I make everyone attack the user.)

Let me know about what you think about my team guys, I would really appreciate that.

Hey there! It's a fine team you seem to have there, but there are a few flaws to correct IMO.

First, as you say so yourself, you are very vulnerable to other weathers. In fact, switching out and in tends to be a lot more tricky in Triples than in doubles or singles. There are two ways of dealing with that. You can either reduce your dependance to weather (and say replace Venusaur by something else) or you can put a Sunny Day somewhere in the team. Overall, it isn't that stupid, but it requires a Support Mon to do so, which you don't have.

That's the second point: you don't have any support, but that's very important in triples. Screens, Wide Guard, you need to have something or else you'll just crumble facing "normal" teams as well. With a Sun Team, I'd say Meowstic, because it raises Screens up and Sunny Day with Prankster. Plus, it also has access to TWave, if you feel like you need speed control, and Taunt if TR does bother you (and it does). You can also give a shot at Hitmontop, Fake Out, Wide Guard and Intimidate bonus is really handy to.

Your Talonflame is really basic and it works that way, but I like this set better. Give it a try!
Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 168 SpA
Naughty Nature
- Brave Bird
- Protect
- Tailwind
- Overheat

We don't have any description for Terrakion, you might want to fix that...

If Talonflame threatens you, use Choice Scarf Lando-T, it works really well to.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Superpower
- U-turn

You say that "Priority moves aren't a problem for Latios", and I say "Are you sure he likes Sucker Punch (the most common priority move, probably) that much?"

For Venusaur (if you do decide to keep it), try Leaf Storm over Giga Drain. You want to sweep, not bulk up.

The big problem is that TR literally eats you whole. You can't afford that, you need Fake Out support or more Taunt. Th best thing to do is to have a TR setter in your own team, so that if it does set up, you can set it down.

I probably missed a fe thing, but that was on my mind. Good luck with your team!

I agree with what Moudou said about Scarf Lando, I think it'd be a lot better for your team instead of a lefties lando.

Also, I would suggest using snatch on talonflame instead of Flare Blitz or Will-O. If you haven't been playing triples for too long you might not have run across snatch talonflames but they are really good. This would be especially helpful for your team. You have three mons that really like using spread moves and you have no way to really prevent wide guard from going up, aside from taunt(which won't help you if you're too far away).

If you're unfamiliar with how snatch works, when you use snatch it will take any kind of status move the opponent used and use it on your side. So if they use wide guard off, your lando/zard/terrak can get their spread moves off and your team will be protected by wide guard that turn. Wide Guard is VERY common in triples and with three mons with spread moves you definitely need something to deal with it, so I would highly recommend snatch.

Thanks for pointing out that I forgot about Terrakions description I didn't even notice that even though I clearly looked at it for 30 minutes XD. But I don't know about switching out Giga Drain for Leaf Storm because like you said, switching out in Triples is harder than in singles and I don't want Venusaur to become dead weight. I never tried Snatch on Talonflame but I guess I'll give it a shot.
