Rate my team (1540 has not peaked yet) needs tweeking!

Ok so I've been playing shoddy for a couple months now and no matter what team I would come up with I would be stuck around 1420. Now it seems I've found a dangerous combination of my favourite pokemon that has rocketed me to 1540. I now want to take this team and test it on wifi simply becasue wifi is more exciting.

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 80hp/252atk/176spd
Nature: Adament
- Trick
- Iron head
- Zen Headbutt
- Fire Punch

The most efficient anti-lead which i have ever used, just let me explain its usefulness. The most common leads are the following:

Aerodactyl/Azelf/Ambipom/Tyranitar/Gengar/Weavile -2HKO'd by iron head 60% chance it flinches and dies or doesn't get Stealth Rock up

Bronzong/Swampert/Hippowdon/Metagross/Gyarados - Get Tricked. If they earthquake it usually doesnt kill jirachi then I switch to Mesprit for the free stealth rock. If they Stealth rock the next move I use is Zen Headbutt as what usually comes in is an infernape/Heatran/Suicune...
and takes decent damage

Infernape/Machamp/Zapdos - Can be a pain for this team so I Zen headbutt for the possible flinches or KO

Apart from messing around with common leads jirachi saves me from calm minding/cursing/wall pokemon such as: celebi/swampert/cresselia/snorlax/suicune/blissey/skarmory with trick making them almost useless

Once jirachi has gotten rid of his scarf he just tries to deal as much damage to the opposing team with his 3 moves. Oh and firepunch is for forretress/scizor and friends and for burn hax from serene grace.

The only pokemon jirachi is afraid of is salamence, heatran and sometimes magnezone which i will explain later on.

Last Note this thing rofls at dugtrio switch ins.

Mesprit @ leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252hp/252def/4spatk
Nature: Bold
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Grass Knot

An awsome check against gyarados and salamence as even max attack +1 outrage doesnt ko after stealth rock damage and both ar KOd with ice beam/ thunderbolt . Also this guy gets stealth rock up so easily especially when jirachi has tricked an earthquake from a lead. I cannot stress enough how important stealth rock is to any team, it gets rid of sashes, makes opponents waste turns rapid spinning, and helps to scout for choice items on heatran/rotoms/scizor/tyranitar/zapdos and more. Not much else to say. Grass knot is for heavy waters and grounds, swampert for some reason never switches out and takes a grass knot in the face. Tyranitar is scary so I usaully stay in as I can dish out two grass knots which do about 70% before he kills me. This guy is my only swampert counter so once this goes down swampert can give me problems, help with this if you can.

Lanturn @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 40hp/192spatk/240spdef/36spd
Nature: Calm
- discharge
- surf
- toxic
- Rain Dance/ Ice Beam (help with this move slot)

I used to run blissey but as soon as i switched to this guy ive been winning much more often. This doesnt mean everyone running a blissey should use this instead, this guy just works better with my team. Takes thunderwaves for the team as now I dont have armoatherapy. Discharge over thunderbolt for paralysis help. Surf for stab and Toxic for stall. This guy switches in on heatran with ease even on earth power and is an immidiate threat. Special sponge for zapdos/suicune/vaporeon/magnezone/milotic/gengar...

Alright I need some serious help with the last moveslot I have been running rain dance simply as filler as it helps out my team a bit with sandstorm everywhere, kingdra goes faster and it cuts fire damage which helps scizor and jirachi. I dont really know why ice beam would be useful as everything I would want to ice beam can kill me with earthquake. Maybe there is a better move for this spot, help would be appreciated. Something I find very strange is that I often get vaporeon switching in to this which is flat out suicide.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4hp/252spatk/252spd
Nature: Timid
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Hp Ice
- Roost

This is my primary scizor counter as well as my special attacker. I always heat wave skarmory because not only does it still kill it but there are sometimes electivires and jolteons lurking around. Not much else to say. Works well with tricked earthquakes. Win.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252hp/252atk/4spd
Nature: Adament
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Quick Attack / Pursuit / knock off? (help with this)

Well well well. What bad can be said about this pokemon. Rapes DD tyranitar with one bullet punch. Uturn to scout for magnezones and heatrans. Superpower for normals and infernape switch ins. Can revenge kill most pokemon under 50% health with priority moves. Ok pursuit is nice to use on choiced shadow balls for ghosts, but lately I havnt seen many ghosts and im simply too afraid to switch into the rotoms. I currently run quick attack for electrics and infernape/blaziken, but havn't once actually used it, I tried knock off once but it is simply better to uturn to a counter. Help please.

Kingdra @ Leftovers / lum berry (help with this)
Ability: Swiftswim/sniper (help with this)
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252spd
Nature: Adament
- Dragon dance
- Substitute
- Waterfall
- Outrage

Alright this guy is beastly, runs over walls except skarmory/empoleon. Substitute stops status from ruining your fun. With sandstorm everywhere leftovers has proved valuable but where I would get two dragon dances with the lum berry substitute combo now I only get one, Another benifit from lum berry is that it heals confusion after outraging. Can set up on Blissey/Vaporeon/Suicune easily. Swift swim is important here because rain dance teams arent as heavily eved in speed and i can usually finish them off with outrage.

Alright there you have it rate and comment.

This team has the problem of not having anything to switch to for certain pokemon such as heracross or machamp please help point out my teams weaknesses for some changes to be made.

I would say Pursuit, but not because Quick Attack is not a good move, as it is very good on a SD set. Moreover, Pursuit is a very useful move in trapping stuff like Cresselia or Celebi, and the immediate power boost from CB makes it useful on Scizor.

For Kingdra, definitely run Swift Swim. Might as well abuse their rain, you can't depend on crits too much. As for the item, I'd say leftovers.

And might I suggest you change the spread to a bit of a bulkier one:
no Substitute set? I have been running the first set, with Susbtitute and maximum HP. Most bulky waters cannot break your substitute with Ice Beam, turning them into set-up bait. Bronzong poses no threat either. I can usually get up 2-3 dragon dances, then I start waterfalling everything.

52 Special Defense EVs guarantees that even Vaporeon cannot break your substitute with Ice Beam. It's at least "EVs" material. 248 HP / 96 Atk / 52 SpD / 112 Spe. Outruns Gengar after a Dragon Dance, and it's substitute survives almost any attack from a bulky water (excluding swampert's EQ). Cressilia's Psychic has a 15% chance to break your substitute, I set up on that duck-whore a few times.

I've used this to great success, as it does make it easy to set up on bulky waters, who are unbelievably common. You can U Turn from Scizor to Kingdra quite easily, as Vaporeon and friends do often switch in to Scizor. I find it a bit more useful than an all out offensive one.

ill test out that kingdra set to see how well it does thanks chenman i usually end up dragon dancing on bulky waters anyway i do lose some 2 hkos though ill test

Kingdra- You're more likely to score a crit rather than Rain support so Sniper is the better ability. Paralysis and Poison are annoying so Lum Berry is the better choice there.

Scizor- Pursuit. No need for priority and Scizor isn't really defensive... and pseudo-trapping is quite handy.

Overall, I think your team chemistry is the problem. The best team has Pokemon to back up or support one another. For example, Salamence would go perfectly with Jirachi because they back up each others weaknesses. Also, typing is important. You have two Steel Types, two Psychic types, and two electirc types... I think the typing should be diverse among Pokemon to prevent having a specific type of Pokemon walk all over you. In my experience, team chemistry is more important than individual Pokemon.

I completely disagree with everything you just said.

Bullet Punch is why Scizor is the #1 Pokemon right now. And if you get a crit with Kingdra, the foe will die anyway so Swift Swim is the better ability to handle Rain teams.

No type walks all over him, because in case you didn't notice his Pokemon have 2ndary types. This makes Jirachi not weak to fighting and Zapdos not weak to Ground. So he doesn't have more than 2 Pokemon weak to any type.

For Mespirit, I think it should have some Special Attack. 64 SpA guaruntees an OHKO on 120/0 Salamance with Ice Beam. Although some may disagree, I think you should keep Grass Knot on Mesprit seeing as its your only Grass attack for Swampert.

Give Kingdra Leftovers because it's going to be subbing against slower threats mostly I suppose. It can make more subs with that item too.

Scizor wants Pursuit in the last slot, for Gengar and Azelf.

You could give Zapdos Life Orb and make it Offensive Zapdos. Takes out certain teams pretty well. Lastly, give Lanturn Toxic for other walls.

Pursuit for scizor, and protect for lanturn.
Protect can help u to scout banded pokes, and stalls to deal damage with toxic.

if i put ice punch on jirachi exactly what on my team can hurt lead infernape also zen headbut saves my butt with machamps which i end up having to thunderbolt and waterfall with zapdos and kingdra to hurt it

I might try protect on lanturn honestly i dont even need that moveslot i never use it. Its hard to take out quick attack on scizor as i have literaly nothing to revenge kill infernape

You obviously havent been running this kingdra for very long. It uses leftovers to recover from weather and subs. It uses swift to set up on rain teams, because after a DD, your crits are OHKO'ing anyway.

I've actually been using this team with some of my own changes, and ave been doing very well with it.

Zen Headbutting Nape is a bad move. 60% of the time, you will not get the flinch you need from Zen. Then, what happens is you activate his Blaze right before he Fire Blasts, guaranteeing your death (except for a miss: the odds of no flinch and a miss is a very low 9%).

So...yeah. I guess it is useful for Machamp and getting neutral hits but....be aware of that.
