UU RMT - MEDIEVAL FAIRY TALE
A Hyper-Offense UU Team
by Ludikrous

Hey Guys! This is Ludikrous with my first
RMT (which is also my first post haha.)
This team is called "Medieval Fairy Tale"
because I noticed that many of my Pokemon
on this team could resemble kings, queens,
warriors, etc. This team style is Hyper
Offense, because that's what I do best.

I made this team in October just for fun,
and I got to 1209 with it (not very impressive)
before forgetting about this team entirely.
However, I'm looking back on this
and seeing what I can improve. Without
further ado, let's get to the teambuilding
process!

TEAMBUILDING PROCESS

I first started with a well-known core of
Blastoise + Nidoqueen. They can get Stealth
Rocks up and defend them from coming.

Then, I needed a good teammate that would resist
Ground type moves, which are harmful to this
core. I finally found Salamence. He also has
a handy Grass resist to help out Blastoise. However,
his 4x weakness to Ice and 2x weakness to Fairy
brings us to...

Doublade is the fourth member to this team. He/
She/It is essential to Salamence because not
only does it helps cover all of Salamence's
weaknesses and some of Nidoqueen's, but
it also carries a win condition. He
is my main switch-in to everything except
for special Fire, Dark, Ghost, and Ground
moves.

Whimsicott is helpful on many levels. It
is my phazer, switch-in to many things
(I'm looking at you, DD Outrage Haxorus)
and all-around awesome Pokemon. I'm
very indecisive about the moveset, so I
am open to suggestions. Its main
weakness, Poison, is not a problem since
we have an immunity and a 4x resistance.

Lastly, I have Infernape. I'm kind of iffy
about Infernape, as it doesn't really "fit"
in this team. It serves as a late-game cleaner,
a standard SD set, but I always find it is
too slow and gets KO'd by not-so-fast threats
like Krookodile.

IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS

blastoise-mega.jpg

King (Blastoise-Mega) @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Dark Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam

M-Toise's job is simple. Get those rocks down and hopefully
weaken some Pokemon in the process. He can break through
many common Pokemon in UU, notably FatMence (Ice Beam),
Forretress, and others to make way for a sweep.
(252+ SpA Mega Blastoise Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Forretress: 382-451 (146.9 - 173.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO)

250px-031Nidoqueen.png

Queen (Nidoqueen) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Sludge Wave
- Ice Beam

Nidoqueen can surprisingly break some teams
like heck. Sometimes this is my lead and brought
some 6-1 forfeits. Normally I would use SR
first, unless the other Pokemon predicts that
and uses Taunt. In that case, use an attacking
move. Nidoqueen has amazing type synergy with
Blastoise. This won't outspeed anything,
so I invested heavily in HP.
Just watch out for dedicated leads like Azelf and Froslass.

salamence_by_faren916-d5ajy6x.png

Villian (Salamence) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Tail
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower

Salamence is an excellent addition to the Blastoise +
Nidoqueen core. Salamence punches holes in the opposing
team, especially Florges trying to switch in. I picked
Moxie over Intimidate because, if used properly,
could become a sweeper and a win condition. Earthquake
provides coverage against common Poison types like
Nidoking and Tentacruel, and Doublade; Iron Tail
is for them Florgeses and Aerodactyl; Draco Meteor is
STAB; Flamethrower is for Doublade and common Grass
, Ice, and steel types.

doublade.jpg

Traitor (Doublade) @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance

Standard Doublade set. As I said before,
Doublade can switch in on Pokemon
that can't do anything to it (like
Vaporeon, Blissey, Roserade, etc.)
and get a free SD as the opponent
switches out. Doublade is my main
win-condition. Sacred Sword is for Normal Types
and Dark Types who resist its STAB. (For example:
Houndoom) Be very careful with this, as
many faster Special threats can easily OHKO Doublade.

250px-547Whimsicott.png

Faerie (Whimsicott) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Moonblast
- Encore
- Leech Seed

Whimsicott is very helpful with Stall and Hyper Defense teams. Armed
with Leech Seed, Encore, and Taunt, this can stop Stall and Set-Up Sweepers
in their tracks. Moonblast is so if this Pokemon is the last one standing,
I can still possibly win. I am thinking of replacing Leech Seed with Giga Drain
because M-Swampert poses a huge threat to this team. However, I learned that
if Whimsicott is really the last one standing, you're ****ed.

infernape.jpg

Warrior (Infernape) @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Fire Punch
- Close Combat
- Earthquake

Infernape is my back-up win condition and cleaner. I chose Infernape
because of his Dark resistance (which helps Doublade) and his Ice resistence
(which I desperately need.) However, he doesn't really fit on the team
because of his frailness and slowness.

CHECKS AND COUNTERS

BULKY GROUND-TYPES - Especially Nidoking. They carry Ice Beam to get rid of Whimsicott and Salamence.

BULKY WATER TYPES - Especially Swampert-M. I have no real check to it, unless I put Giga Drain on Whimiscott.

FASTER THREATS - Scarf Hydreigon, Scarf Mienshao, Scarf Krookodile, Beedrill-Mega (if Doublade is gone), and M-Aerodactyl with EQ can all destroy this team because I have no fast Pokemon.

(This list is incomplete.)

Hey there! This is a decent team that you have going here but it could definitely use some changes. You absolutely don't want to be weak to bulky waters, because they're everywhere in this tier. Suicune in particular looks like it outright 6-0's your team. Here are a couple of suggestions to help you out with some of those weaknesses.

  • SD infernape might sound fun and all, but it's not going to be very efficient when it has troubles with bulky waters. And since those are a huge weakness to your team, I would recommend replacing Infernape with SD Toxicroak. This gives you something with a similar role to what Infernape was supposed to play, an SD Setup Sweeper, while making those water types much less intimidating. Also note that the main offensive waters, Crawdaunt, Sharpedo and Feraligatr, are also huge threats to your team that Toxicroak helps out with. Toxicroak also provides you with priority in Sucker Punch which could really help against those faster threats.

  • Running Lum Moxie special Mence is pretty redundant. I would suggest changing to DD Mence, as this both gives you a great wincon and really helps out with your speed issue. Salamence is one of the most feared setup sweepers in the tier and will definitely do wonders for your team. With intimidate users being as common as they are, as well as your weaknesses to the fast megas & scarfers, I think sticking with Moxie could be useful. You'll sometimes be able to bluff the scarf and set up with DD on the switch.

  • Your Whimsicott set is also kind of redundant. You're using a set with Max Speed/SpA, but mainly for stall purposes. You mentioned Mega Swampert being a threat, so I would continue to keep the offensive EV spread, but change the moveset. Pixie Plate with Moonblast and Giga Drain would be ideal, but you could keep the Yache Berry if you feel it is necessary. Taunt is kind of overkill when you have Encore, so I would recommend replacing it with U-Turn to help you grab momentum.

  • You have very little stopping Lucario from 6-0ing you after an SD, or Mamoswine from just killing one thing after another. I would replace Doublade with Cobalion in order to at least give you an answer to these guys. SD Luke could be revenge killed by Cobalion (Salamence revenges the NP set). Having Cobalion and Mence gives you the option to play mind games against Mamo, or just revenge it. It could also deal with Beedrill and Non-EQ Aero. I would also put Stone Edge on it for some crucial counters such as Chandelure and Zapdos, who very much threaten your team.

I hope you consider my suggestions and have an easier time using this team. Best of luck!
