ORAS OU Rate My Team: Mega Altaria

So, my team that I've recently started using is:

334.png

Altaria-Mega @ Altarianite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Earthquake
- Roost

Mega Altaria is my main Physical Sweeper. The main part of this set is to set up, heal, then sweep. Return is for Pixilate STAB and has near perfect synergy with Earthquake.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
- Hidden Power [Flying]

Keldeo is probably my favorite legend, so I decided to make him my main Special Sweeper. Scald is there for STAB and the nice Burn chance. Secret Sword is good Secondary STAB while also destroying things like Chansey. Icy Wind hits the Lati twins and Dragons in general that might switch in to take a Scald, while HP Flying hits Mega Venusaur harder than all my other moves. I decided to not run Hydro Pump because the accuracy is just too unreliable.

Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 80 Atk / 4 SpD / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Super Fang
- Brave Bird

Crobat is my Defogger and covers that Fighting Weakness for Chansey. Crobat is also good at putting pressure on switch ins that lack recovery with Super Fang. Roost is for healing, and Brave Bird is to hit things like Breloom and others.

479-heat (1).png

Rotom-Heat @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Rest

Rotom-H is my Physical Wall, covering the Electric and Fire weakness well. Will-O-Wisp is for crippling Physical Attackers. Overheat is STAB and Volt Switch is for Initiative. While Rest helps heal me up and gets rid of status.

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
- Soft-Boiled
- Aromatherapy

Chansey is my defensive pivot, being able to take hits on both sides extremely well. It's also my Cleric that helps me if my Jirachi or Altaria get burned, or something gets poisoned/paralyzed. It also helps cover the huge Gengar weakness I have(even though I can't really do anything back to it lol).

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- Drain Punch

Jirachi is my bulkyish paraflincher that can get some flinches that could save the game. Thunder Wave helps increase the paraflinch chance when I use Iron Head. Ice Punch hits Landorous-T, Gliscor, Garchomp, and other things that might like to come in. Drain Punch hits Bisharp that might try to force me out, allowing me to take it out before it Swords Dances/Knocks Off/Pursuits. A Sucker Punch would be unfortunate, so I might change the set so I can live one then take it out with Drain Punch and end up being healthy again. Any advice on this team? I would appreciate it. :]

Could you put a bit of an explanation after each poke? For instance, I'd love to know what hp flying on keldeo does for you. I also want to know what drain punch is for. The only thing I can think of is bisharp which can sucker punch anyways. I'm not saying it's bad I'd just like to know why it's part of your team. Personally I'd recommend u-turn and possibly body slam, although 60% is not the most reliable. I definitely think mega altaria agree very strong and it is good to build a team around. Also, you could put rocks onto rachi or chansey. At first I was sceptical of rotom-h but it does have good synergy with your team. One thing that might threaten your team is tant/wow/bb/roost talonflame is it can roost up to take a volt switch and fares well vs the rest.

Oops, my bad, yeah, I'll go ahead and put a description after the Pokemon.

On Keldeo, what does Hidden Power [Flying] hit? May I suggest Hidden Power [Bug] it hits Lati@s, Celebi, & Serperior just as hard.

HP Flying hits Mega Venusaur hard as it can tank everything else extremely well. Icy Wind is better for the Latis in the long run because of the fact it lowers speed.

You could run Body Slam instead of Twave on Jirachi. Since it has Serene Grace, 60% para chance is still pretty high and you can also para ground types with it
