Hi there smogoners, I'm new to competitive battling and would appreciate it very much if you could give me constructive criticism regarding to this VGC 2016 team I built.

Rayquaza-Mega @ Choice Band
Ability: Air Lock
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Dragon Ascent
- Extreme Speed
- Earthquake
- Overheat

This is the main sweeper of my team, the choice band helps it pick up surprise OHKOs on opposing foes.
-OHKOes majority of the metagame w/ dragon ascent.
-OHKOes mega- mawile w/ overheat.
-EQ 2HKOs 252HP Groudon most of the time.
-EVed to survive Mega Kangs double edge.

Bisharp (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Low Kick
- Iron Head
- Knock Off

Bisharp punishes the opponent if the opponent chooses to lead w/ pokemon w/ intimidate that mitigate the choice band of Ray. (Eg. Salamence, Mawile, Lando-Therian)

Liepard (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Encore
- Foul Play
- Swagger

-Provides Fake out support.
- Destroys Lugia w/ foul play after a swagger.
-Encore is used to punish protect/ set up moves.
Talonflame (F) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Gale Wings
Level: 50
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Quick Guard
- Tailwind

-Provides Quick guard and tailwind support.
-Priority BB is used to beat trick room.
-Flare blitz is used during Q guard mind games w/ crobat.

Amoonguss @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain
- Spore
- Rage Powder
- Protect

This is my main counter to trick room teams w/ spore abuse.

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 244 SpA / 4 SpD / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- Geomancy
- Protect
- Hidden Power [Ground]

-4 Speed to speedcreep opposing xerneas ( I'm a nub at EVs)
-Highly dangerous after setting geomancy up.
- HP ground 2HKOs most spreads of M- mawile and Pdon.

Notes:
-I am a pokenub when it comes to EV spreads, help would be greatly appreciated w/ altering EVs of my Pokemon.
-I usually start w/ Liepard and Ray, faking out w/ liepard and OHKOing the other slot w/ dragon ascent.
-The team is hyper offensive and super frail.
- I once swaggered my own M Ray and used it to EQ everything on the field, OHKOing everything in sight.

So what do you guys think about my team? I'd love it if ya'll could take some time coming up w/ suggestions on how to improve my team.

Hey nezblue :)
I really like your team, but there are a few things i would like to suggest that may improve it
I will suggest some minor changes (EV spreads/moves etc) and some more major changes (changes in pokemon selection) depending on how much you want to edit your original idea :)

Minor changes (written in bold):

Rayquaza:

rayquaza-mega.gif

Rayquaza-Mega @ Choice Band
Ability: Air Lock
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Naive Nature

- Dragon Ascent
- Extreme Speed
- Draco Meteor
- Overheat

Having a naughty nature on rayquaza will really limit its matchup against faster pokemon such as opposing mega rayquaza, so running a naive nature with maximum speed will alleviate the current spread's weaknesses, especially since the current spread underspeeds speedy base 90s. I would also recommend running draco meteor over earthquake since your team's earthquake synergy is not optimal, since you have one immunity and 2 pokemon with protect, and this move choice will also allow you to beat opposing dragons, including mega rayquaza if you win the speed tie :)

Bisharp:

625.gif

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
Level: 50
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Protect

A jolly nature on bisharp will allow it to outspeed slower modest xerneas (up to 108 EVs) to allow you to knock their power herb off to stop a geomancy. Unfortunately most xerneas at this point are max speed to avoid stuff like this and to win the all important xerneas speed tie. Protect will give you greater defensive coverage, since bisharp is very frail and you don't want it to go down quickly

(liepard is fine although you will probably want to change the 4 HP to 252 HP)
(Talonflame will need an adamant nature with your current set instead of naughty to increase special defence)

Amoonguss:

591.gif

Amoonguss @ Occa Berry
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 50
EVs: 236 HP / 116 Def / 156 SpD
Sassy Nature

IVs: 0 Spe
- Rage Powder
- Spore
- Grass Knot
- Protect

This is Scar's amoonguss spread that he used in the GS cup. The spread allows it to survive a max investment overheat in sun from primal groudon in conjunction with occa berry (the strongest move it can use), there probably is a better spread since overheat is pretty rare on groudon at this point. Sassy>Calm helps you to check trick room better so that you can fire off spores easier, and grass knot will help your matchup versus primal kyogre (even though its a 3HKO)

Xerneas:

716.gif

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
Level: 50
EVs: 172 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 52 Spe
Modest Nature
- Geomancy
- Dazzling Gleam
- Moonblast
- Protect

this is Serapis' cool spread that i think will fit nicely into your team's format, since modest xerneas thrives off team support :)
the EVs will let you live a dragon ascent from adamant life orb mega rayquaza, a double-edge from adamant kangaskhan-mega and an eruption from modest primal groudon (pretty darn bulky), whilst the speed allows you to out run choice scarf base 100s after a geomancy, with max SpA to boot.
Moonblast>HP ground will still allow you to 2HKO primal groudon, whilst hitting other targets for massive damage if a single target attack is required.

Major Changes:

This is a slight change that will allow you to beat mega rayquaza more consistently, whilst freeing up a legendary spot on your team, as well as providing intimidate support and removing the limiting factors of choice band, so here's a sample spread:

salamence-mega.gif

Salamence-Mega @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Double-Edge
- Hyper Voice
- Protect

This is a pretty cookie cutter spread. The EVs focus on the special side of salamence's move options, since double edge is already very powerful. Draco meteor is here to beat rayquaza and hyper voice will soften up targets for xerneas to hit. This spread will always outspeed mega rayquaza even when they mega evolve on the same turn so you can beat it much more easily than that of a mirror match

If you swap out rayquaza for salamence then this will open up a slot for primal groudon. A core of Xerneas/Salamence/Groudon-P is very strong offensively, since Groudon can handle steels for xerneas/salamence, and xerneas can handle the dragons for salamence, so this swap isn't necessarily a like-for-like swap, it's more of a core swap, so heres my recommended spread:

groudon-primal.gif

Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
Level: 50
EVs: 28 HP / 4 Def / 220 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Eruption
- Flamethrower
- Protect

Another great spread from Serapis, this Hyper Offensively focused primal groudon set will survive a +2 Grass knot/HP ground from timid xerneas, the 'absolute minimum' investment required for a spread like this. Max speed will at least speed tie with other primal groudon so that you can OHKO/2HKO (depending on the spread) them with earth power in a mirror match. Eruption is a ridiculously powerful spread move, and flamethrower will give you more options at lower health.

I would recommend this swap if you run lum berry on this slot, as it will allow you to check FakeOut+Set up strategies such as Kangaskhan/xerneas, as crobat has the ability inner focus to stop flinches so that you can taunt the set up mon, whilst accomplishing basically what talonflame can do, although if you want to run life orb talonflame if you swapped out bisharp that's totally fine :)

169.gif

Crobat @ Lum Berry
Ability: Inner Focus
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Super Fang
- Taunt
- Tailwind
- Quick Guard

so yeah pretty similar to talonflame but with super fang, taunt and more bulk since there is no need for attack investment

And that's my rate :)
hoped it helped a bit

Hello nezblue , and welcome to Smogon!

Unfortunately, this RMT is currently not following the rules which can be found in the RMT Resource Thread; specifically, this thread violates rule #4, because you lack sufficient descriptions for each Pokemon on your team. As such, I am afraid that I will have to lock this thread for the time being. If you would like this thread to be reopened, feel free to PM me with your updated RMT, and I would be happy to reopen this thread for you. If you need help making an RMT up to the required standards, I recommend that you carefully read the RMT Resource Thread and check out other RMTs from the Team Showcase and RMT Archive for some examples.

Good luck with your team, and have a nice day!
