Its been over 6 months since I stopped playing Pokemon (school), and I managed to get some time off in the summer, so I spent some time making and tweaking a new team, this is what I got:
As you can see, some of the team are a bit strange, but do not doubt them, they work great.
The core of the team is basically to nullify the current metagame strategies, you may have noticed that this team lacks a single rock weak, granting me some lovely protection to the all common stealth rock.
The team can take on the most common of OU's threats, its quite funny to watch how predictable the metagame is.
[I go by the name Overlord in Shoddy]
Well, enough filler, lets get to the good stuff:
El Scorcho
Infernape @ Choice Scarf
Blaze
Rash Nature
36 Atk / 252 SpA / 220 Spe
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- Hidden Power Ice
- U-turn
This thing is great, most of the time my first move is U-turn, witch eliminates the Focus Sash most leads carry, the recipient is almost always Forretress. Lead Bronzongs get boiled to death with a nice Overheat.
Close combat is STAB and makes quick work of a nice number of threats (can single handed cripple a sandstorm team if its not cautious).
Imawallu
Forretress @ leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish Nature
252 HP / 162 Atk / 96 Def
- Spikes
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Explosion
Normally comes out from the U-turn, there's little most of the stealth rockers can do it (explode does jack shit to this bug) will normally set 1 spikes (to ruin sashes) and then adjust accordingly.
I have rapid spin mostly because of Toxic Spikes.
Earthquake is extremely nice to catch incoming Heatran and Magnezone (strangely I see more Heatrans comming in that Zones)
Linux
Porygon 2 @ Leftovers
Trace
Modest Nature
240 HP / 164 Def / 12 SpA / 92 SpD
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
Ah I just love this Cyber Duck, theres no feeling like switching into Gyarados or Salamance just to see them get intimidated and sent back to their pokeballs. This guy is just solid.
I love to play with Trace, switching into Vaporeon (and Heatran) is just great, enables me to cripple the switch in with a nice T-wave.
This baby lasts and lasts with recover.
Pimp Slap
Hariyama @ Leftovers
Thick Fat
Impish nature
204 HP / 52 Atk / 252 Def
- Counter
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Payback
- Shut yo mouth ho! -
Thats what Tyranitars and Blisseys hear oh so often. This guy can switch in with impunity and punish with a nice Pimp Slap (everybody in Shoddy loves the nickname).
Counter is incredible, specially with the bulkyer build that this Yama packs, it will take down Garchomps, SD Lucarios and some other threats with some basic prediction this is one tough sumo dude.
KO is nice with I have no clue what is switching in, and Payback is cool when I predict a ghost comming in.
Rawr!
Rampardos @ Choice Scarf
Mold Breaker
Jolly Nature
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
- Head Smash
- Pursuit
- Earthquake
- Hammer Arm
Yeah!!! Rip them Appart!!!
This dino just crushes anything in front of him, the Scarf is incredibly handy, mostly comes in when I scout a switch with U-turn or when something else dies. This monster can transform revenge kills into small sweeps, one, two three pokemon down!
Its funny how people sometimes forget about Mold breaker and switch in their levitators.
OMG Zerg Rush!
Deoxys-S @ Expert Belt
Pressure
Hasty Nature
160 Atk / 252 SpA / 96 Spe
- Psychic
- Superpower
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
Well... I don't know what to tell you about him, its pretty obvious what he does. I decided to not carry shadow ball because I dont feel other Deoxys-S will damage me too much.
I'm still considering using a 252 252 spread, but I'm not to sure.
Just another thing, this team may not COUNTER every single pokemon, but I will revenge kill them (and perhaps turn into a sweep), I have no problem sacrificing a pokemon for the cause.
Anyways... rate it ^_^
