This is one of my first competitive teams, it has been doing well on Showdown. Feed back would be appreciated
Zeus (Galvantula) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Sticky Web
- Volt Switch
I usually lead with Galvantula. This set is really self explanatory, he sets up Sticky Webs, shocks things, and buzzes the occasional Espeon switch in.
Poseidon (Starmie) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 126 Def / 252 SAtk / 126 SDef / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Thunderbolt
The obligatory rapid spinner so Charizard doesn't die. I've heard this is an unusual build, and there's probably some merit to that statement but I wanted a slightly bulkier rapid spinner. I don't invest anything into speed because it's fast enough to out speed most of the meta already (at least in my experience). I tried to go for a diverse move pool so beyond the rapid spinning it's a decent offensive threat.
Ares (Conkeldurr) (M) @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 116 SDef / 20 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
A pretty standard set with Conkeldurr. I felt like Ice Punch and Earthquake would be better than the traditional rockslide (or Stone Edge) and facade due to adding more coverage to my team. I also feel like Earthquake is important to hitting Aegislash.
Apollo (Charizard-Mega-Y) (M) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Drought
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse
The only thing that's not standard on here is the lack of Focus Blast. I don't run Focus Blast, Focus Blast is a dumb move that's fickle and impulsive and unreliable. Air Slash gets stab and is generally reliable so I run that. One thing of note is how great of a counter Mega Charizard Y is to Greninja.
Athena (Reuniclus) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
My stallbreaker. Again a rather simple set, used for when physical threats try to set up. Pretty self explanatory.
Demeter (Breloom) (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Swords Dance
- Mach Punch
- Rock Tomb
Breloom is a great Pokemon and I will hear no evidence to the contrary. This is my anti sweeper. Talon Flame, Volcarona, Barbaracle, Cloyster. Mach Punch on this guy is no joke, and rock tomb provides great coverage and a useful speed drop.
