This is a monotype normal team, in case that wasn't totally obvious. I'm actually really pleased with this team, I've only had 2 or 3 losses so far with it, and everyone seems to do what they're supposed to.
Meet The Team:
Ambipom @ Focus Sash
Technician
252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP.
Jolly
-Fake Out
-Taunt
-Pursuit
-Double Hit
This is my team's lead. I fake out first turn for good damage with technician, and then I can taunt to stop stealth rock or set up. This pretty much always goes my way, since ambipom has really nice speed, so gets the taunt off before things like ferrothorn, skarmory or metagross get a chance to set up. I'd like to save my lead and set up field hazards later, so that's why pursuit's there; to hit leads that are gonna switch out. For leads that stay in and for everything else, I've got double hit, which is normally a 2HKO if it's unresisted.
Cincinno @ Choice Band
Skill Link
252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP.
Jolly
-U-Turn
-Bullet Seed
-Tail Slap
-Rock Blast
Cincinno is underestimated by most people. And then it sweeps them. It's a fairly simple set up; I get 125 power non-stabs, and an even higher power STAB. Combine that with a choice band and 361 speed, you're gonna do some damage. U-Turn is good if Cincinno is revenge killing, and it helps me scout the opponent's team a little.
Togekiss @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP.
Modest
-Thunder Wave
-Air Slash
-Fire Blast
-Aura Sphere
Marvel at my original Togekiss. I made it modest for the extra attack, since I thunder wave my opponent as soon as I can anyway, so I'll definitely outspeed. Air slash means I can paraflinch, aura sphere takes care of rock types who resist togekiss' STABs and wall the rest of my team, and fire blast gives good coverage.
Meloetta @ Life Orb
Serene Grace
252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP.
Timid
-Hyper Voice
-Focus Blast
-Psychic
-Hidden Power Fire
Meloetta's my team's key special sweeper. With 354 Special attack, I've got a timid nature to boost her rather average speed stat. Hyper voice is self-explanatory, and Psychic provides a second STAB, as well as hitting fighting types hard. Focus Blast takes care of dark types who resist Meloetta's STABs, and Hidden power takes care of her bug weakness, while providing decent coverage at the same time. Even though her speed is a poor 305, she does have 292 special defense and a good chunk of HP, so I'm confident that she can take a hit, if it comes to that. This is also the Normal/Psychic form, obviously.
Snorlax @ Chesto Berry
Thick fat
252 HP, 252 Defense, 4 Special Defence.
Impish (+Defense, -Special Attack)
-Body Slam
-Ice Punch
-Crunch
-Rest
With 5 other super-offensive pokemon, my team lacked a decent wall. I decided to use snorlax, since, unlike Blissey he can do some actual damage. With 500 HP, a resistance to ice and fire, and 250 in each defense, he can take a hit no problem. Body slam has less power than return, and can paralyze opponents, softening them up for the rest of my team to finish off later on. Crunch deals with ghost types and things like espeon, who seems fairly common now. Ice punch takes care of flying types, which are fairly frequent in some form in the metagame, and Rest lets me recover status. I used a chesto berry instead of a lum berry, so if someone paralyzes me, I don't sacrifice my insta-heal from rest to regain snorlax's pitiful speed.
Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
Reckless
252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP.
Adamant
-Double-Edge
-Brave Bird
-Close Combat
-U-Turn
Staraptor's lackluster speed stat and incredible attack already made him a prime selection for choice scarf, and his dream world ability reckless just puts the icing on the cake. With a choice scarf, I'm free to go for an adamant nature, giving staraptor 372 attack. Combine that with 120 base power STABs, then add reckless onto that, and you have one hell of a dangerous attacker. Close combat and U-Turn are there for coverage, but I'm not so sure about U-Turn.
So yeah, that's the team. As I said, I like it, but I'm sure there are other people with monotype teams that have better tactics than I do, so please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance for the replies.
