Rate my Team - Sinister Six

Yep, the name is based on that Spider Man group of villains.

Well, here is my second RMT. The first one was utterly and completely ignored, but I'm hoping this time someone will rate my team (please :| ).

Anyway:

gardevoir-mega.png
Boa Hancock @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Will-O-Wisp

The main goal of the team was to make one where Mega Gardevoir was viable, and so far this is working. She is the main special attacker of the team, able to spread pain and destruction everywhere, as well as being a good wallbreaker and a decent revenge killer. The first three moves give coverage against almost everything, and Will-O-Wisp is to troll the rest of the pokemon on the switch. She is the main answer to fighting pokemon, Mega Venusaur, and pretty much anything slow who doesn't have amazing special defense.

The nickname was based on a character from the One Piece anime.

Zeus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder Wave
- Psychic

This guy is a special sweeper with boltbeam, able to stop water pokemon from being a threat to my team, as well as dealing with a few other critical types. It's a pretty good late game sweeper even without setup, as well as a great revenge killer. Boltbeam is the standard eletric type coverage, and Psychic is to deal with Mega Venusaur, who otherwise can wall my entire team as soon as Gardevoir faints. Thunder Wave is here to make sure my team will never get swept, and this pokemon is the answer against most sweepers, often sacrificing its life to paralyze them. It makes a great combo with Gardevoir, since she can easily come in against the paralyzed pokemon afterwards and kill it.

The nickname was based on the famous greek god.
562.png
Donkey Kong @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch

This is a pivot who can switch in on most pokemon and threaten to deal a lot of damage. It's also the main source of special bulk, should I need to tank some powerful special attack. And it's a good check to many steel types, killer of Chanseys, remover of items, and absorber of burns, as well as a good revenge killer with mach punch. Ice Punch was chosen because it's a very useful type and Thundurus' HP Ice isn't really poweful, and it can be essential in a lot of matches.

Nickname was based on the character from the mario franchise.

aegislash.png
Amidamaru @ Spell Tag
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- King's Shield
- Shadow Ball
- Shadow Sneak
- Iron Head

The crumbler. A pokemon who can both take hits like a boss and spam a shadow ball that almost nothing resists, this pokemon is also another useful pivot. Iron Head is to give my a chance against those pesky fairies, and shadow sneak lets it become another revenge killer (you can never have too much of those). There's not much to say about it since it's a great all around pokemon, able to threaten most of the metagame and find a role in every match.

Nickname was based on a ghost swordsman from the Shaman King anime.

450.png
Sharknado @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast

This guy has a few essential functions. The most obvious one is setting rocks, which works pretty well since it can force a lot of switches and the lum berry allows it to take a WoW from Rotom leads, then switching into Conkeldurr to take the second, and obvious, WoW. The next one is being an all out physical attacker, who can deal quite a lot of damage with Outrage+EQ combo, both types that my team lacks elsewhere. Fire Blast is also another lacking type that helps against Scizor, Skarmory and Ferrothorn, some common pokemon who love to lead or switch into it.

Nickname was based on the most awesome disaster movie I've ever seen.

660.png
Buzzar @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Impish Nature
- Foul Play
- Roost
- Defog
- Knock Off

This girl was added to the team with one main function, to be a defensive wall and support the rest of theam who is kind of lacking in the defense department. It's also an important counter to Aegislash, which is essential for Gardevoir to function well. Foul Play and Roost are obvious, while Defog provides situational, but very useful, utility. Finally, Knock Off make it function better as a pivot, and makes it able to cripple defensive pokemon like CHansey who love to switch into it.

Nickname was based on a boss from the first Paper Mario game.

Well, this team has been proving kind of sucessful in the ladder, having peaked at 1753 until now. There are a few pokemon who give it a lot of problems, though. The main offender is Mega Manectric. It checks every pokemon except for Gardevoir and Conkeldurr, and even those two don't last long if they keep taking Volt Switches. Mega Mawile is also a big problem, it can be checked by Garchomp, but everything else has trouble dealing with it and not even Thundurus can stop it once it sets up, since it's a slow priority attacker anyway. Finally, Azumarill has been a pain in the ass for many matches, and while three of my pokemon can check it, none of them can easily switch into the fairy, and the other three are checked by it, giving it a lot of switch in opportunities.

So I'd like to get some tips on how to cover these weaknesses in my team without making it too weak against everything else. I've peaked at 1699 with this team, and I believe it has what it takes to get even higher if I make the right changes. Thank you very much.

Bump. Some day, I will get a team rated in this forum. I shall prove it's not impossible. Some day...

By the way, I updated a few things. I changed Nasty Plot on my Thundurus to Psychic to deal with Venusaur, and so far it seems to be working. I also changed Whirlwind on Mandibuzz to Knock Off to better deal with walls like Chansey and make it a better pivot, since Whirlwind was a very situational move anyway. I'm still having some trouble dealing with Azumarill, though. Mega Manectric and Mega Mawile have also been giving me a lot of trouble lately. I'd say Mega Manectric is the current biggest threat to this team, as it can check 4 pokemon, and the other 2 don't like to take many volt switches.

You use spell tag instead of plate on Aegislash like a true boss so I'll help you out. A big problem you have is the lack of a Water resist. Every time Azumarill or Keldeo comes in, you are going to lose a mon. Greninja is also problematic, but it's less common and Conkeldurr is good for one switch-in. Offensive electrics are also a problem. Manectric as you mentioned is 2HKOing everything and volt switching vs Conkeldurr. Thundurus 2HKOs the team, and if it manages a Nasty Plot boost your best answer is a speed tie. An offensive Rotom-w such as a Specs or Scarf set is equally difficult to play against. I don't see this team faring well against the standard stall team that becomes more common as you climb the ladder. Chansey + Skarm + Venusaur or whatever people run on those teams is pretty much impossible for you to break.

It's difficult to rate teams like this without changing too much, which is likely why you haven't received any feedback. It's not because it's a bad team or anything; it's just not complete. You really just need to play around with the team and fit in a water resist. You can probably play around electrics to some extent since they can't OHKO Conkeldurr, Aegislash, or Gardevoir without significant prior damage. Taunt on Mandibuzz helps a bit against Stall considering Mandibuzz outruns what is commonly seen on stall, though you may want to run 16 spd or so to help against speed creeping Skarmory. Specially defensive Hippowdon could perform the function of special wall, sr setter, and Aegislash counter for Gardevoir, which would free up space for you to fit a Latias/Latios defogger and then a last mon just to patch up whatever issues arise. Latios can run Shadow Ball and 2HKO Aegislash switch-ins which helps Gardevoir immensely. That's the route I would personally go if using this team, but there are other options out there.

Hope this helps you some. Good luck homie.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of Hippowdon, it might work and patch the Manectric problem (even HP Ice fails it 3HKO it). To be fair Garchomp has been the most underwhelming member of the team, usually setting rocks, then failing to KO something, and then later being sacked against a fairy/water/ice mon. Latios is also a mon I've been wanting to use for some time, it might work on this team.
