Hey guys, I'm new to competitive battling, so I'm gonna need some advice. I made this team last night, and I plan on making it in X and Y if it does well. So far it's been pretty decent. My only problem has been Greninja. If you have any advice on how to make it better please let me know! Here's the team:
Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
Ability: Blaze ---> Drought
Moves: Fire Blast, Air Slash, Solar Beam, Roost
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 SpAtk, 4 HP
Charizard is the mega of this team. It's ability Drought allows it to use Solar Beam in one turn, as well as power up Fire Blast. Air Slash is for STAB and is used against anything that Fire Blast and Solar Beam isnt Super-Effective against. Roost is for healing, also used immediately on a switch in when rocks are up.
Breloom @ Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
Ability: Technician
Moves: Mach Punch, Bullet Seed, Rock Tomb, Spore
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Atk, 4 HP
Technician is an obvious choice for Breloom, considering it puts Mach Punch at 120 base power with STAB, as well as 75 base power PER HIT with Bullet Seed. Spore is used to put to sleep slow threats, then hammer away with one of Breloom's technician boosted attacks.
Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
Ability: Rough Skin
Moves: Outrage, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Fire Fang
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Atk, 4 HP
Lum Berry is used to un-confuse Garchomp after hitting hard with Outrage. It allows him to stay in another turn or two without having to worry about being confused. Earthquake is an obvious choice considering it's STAB and hits hard. Stone Edge is for the opponents flying types, and Fire Fang is for coverage against Ice Types.
Mandibuzz @ Rocky Helmet
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
Ability: Overcoat
Moves: Knock Off, Whirlwind, Roost, Defog
EVs: 252 Def, 252 HP, 4 Atk
Mandibuzz is the Defensive wall of this team. Whirlwind is used to switch out opponents that use stat boosting moves. Defog is to get rid of hazards (Which is well needed considering it takes 1/2 of Charizard's HP, and it also helps keep Breloom's HP full so his sash can work.) Knock off is for a STAB attacking move as well as for knocking off an opponents useful item.
Umbreon @ Leftovers
Nature: Careful (+SpD, -SpA)
Ability: Synchronize
Moves: Payback, Wish, Protect, Toxic
EVs: 252 SpDef, 252 HP, 4 Atk
Umbreon is the Specially Defensive wall of this team. If i need to take a few special hits, Umbreon is the perfect pokemon to switch to. It's Toxic/Protect combo works great for stalling. Wish is for healing, as well as switching into Charizard and Breloom. Payback is a STAB attacking move that allows Umbreon to do some damage.
Alakazam @ Life Orb
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
Ability: Magic Guard
Moves: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Calm Mind
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 SpAtk, 4 HP
Magic Guard/Life Orb combo is great because Alakazam does not take any damage. Psychic is for STAB, Shadow Ball and Dazzling Gleam are for Coverage, Calm Mind is to boost Alakazam's SpAtk even higher! Alakazam is also a counter-part to Umbreon. If a fighting-type switches in against Umbreon, Alakazam is perfect for taking the hit.
Once again, I'm new to competitive battling so don't be too harsh! Any constructive criticism is well appreciated!
