This team is newly constructed and I would like some feedback.
Gallade (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 94 HP/216 Atk/200 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Shadow Sneak
- Psycho Cut
- Swords Dance
---
What it does: Basically I chose Gallade as my lead because it can take out some of the common leads with the help of 1 SD. I've noticed that many leads are walls/tanks with Stealth Rock. Most likely they will Stealth Rock the first turn and expect me to switch out which gives me the opportunity to SD and then take them out. Also, the other reason Gallade is my lead is to destroy some of the deadly leads like Gengar, Deoxys-E, and Breloom. Since I put some Speed EVs into Gallade he can outspeed many of those common leads. The leads I struggle with using my lead are: Gyarados, Salamence, Yanmega.
Chidori (Jolteon) (M) @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Substitute
- Hidden Power [Ice]
---
What it does: My Jolteon is there to absorb any of the electric attacks that come my way, like T-Wave from Blissey for example. I know Jolteon can't really do much to Blissey, but I can just stall out the Blissey for the time being. When I say that, I am going to get Blissey thinking I will keep attacking and then in a few turns, mainly 2-3 I will switch out to my Gallade if it is still alive and then SD upon the user switching out. Since Jolteon contains great speed, it is very capable of pulling off T-Wave in Substitute form. Great help for slowing down Choice Scarf users.
Shinigami (Gengar) (M) @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hypnosis
---
What it does: Hypnosis and sweep. I chose Gengar over some other Pokemon because it has great speed and it can save me from some deadly threats like Toxic and CCs.
Bronzong @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Def/252 SDef
Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Explosion
---
What it does: Sets up the walls, and goes out with a boom if needed.
Tsunami (Kingdra) (F) @ Damp Rock
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Rain Dance
- Hidden Power [Electric]
---
What it does: Since Kingdra can take at least one hit before dying, it can set up Rain Dance and blow out the effects of Hail or Sandstorm. Putting Kingdra in a Timid nature, allows me to outspeed a Modest ScarfGar apparently and can outspeed pretty much all the speedy Pokemon. Rain Dance will boost the power of my Surf which will indeed help me take down some Pokemon. Also, Rain Dance can power down a Heatran a great deal. Considering Fire Blast is his main move. HP Electric to get rid of those Gyarados which would eventually cause me some problems.
Addicted Gambler (Honchkrow) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Sucker Punch
- Drill Peck
- Substitute
- Featherdance
---
What it does: Well this Honchkrow of mine has been complimented a few times by some battlers for an unknown reason. Basically, I will switch into Honchkrow when I suspect a Pokemon trying to sleep my Pokemon. Most of the time I see Breloom, Roserade, Bronzong and Gengar sleeping my Pokemon. Honchkrow can kill 3 out of those 4 so that is the reason why I chose Honchkrow for Insomnia. Aside from negating the sleep effect, he will substitute and Drill Peck or Sucker Punch to get some kills. Featherdance is to make the physical sweepers wimps when they suspect I will just Sucker Punch them to death. I made many Gyarados a piece of trash after 2 Featherdances.
Rate my team. I am not that good at explaining my team. More so because I get lazy to type everything in depth.
