Rate My Team

Alright, I'm new to this, so my team is probably subpar. i did kind of customize this team on my own, and i dunno how it fares.

Hitmonlee @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 atk/252speed/4spd
Nature: Jolly
Blaze Kick
Mach Punch
Earthquake
Stone Edge

This guy is my opener. Blaze Kick fares a pretty good move for alot of the pokes i encounter. this is a basic sweeper set. Choice Scarf for his average speed. With jolly, his speed is at 450, coupled with choice scarf, so he outspeeds a most of the competition, and covers a decent amount of types.

Spiritomb @ Life Orb
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 sp.atk/128 speed/128spd
Nature: Modest
HP Fighting
Shadow ball
Psychic
Hypnosis

This guy is for special attacks (obviously). Works good if i run into something that is truly a problem for my hitmonlee, as well as the main one to baton pass to.Shadow ball for STAB, psychic for a good move to have, and hidden power is to deal with anything that the other 2 moves will be walled by (steel, dark). Hypnosis to kill them in their sleep if at all possible.

Togekiss @ Salac Berry
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 192 def/86 speed/96 sp.atk/136 sp.def.
Nature: Bold
HP ice
Roost
Nasty Plot
Baton Pass

a baton passer, mainly for spiritomb. baton pass the nasty plot, or the salac berry boost if possible. the Ice HP covers alot of problems (GARCHOMP MUST DIE!). roost to restore health.

Absol @ Focus Sash
Ability: Super Luck
EVs: 252 atk/252 speed/4 hp
Nature: Adamant
Aerial Ace
Sucker Punch
X-Scissor
Psycho Cut

This guy rarely goes down without denting the enemy (tried him in all of my shoddy teams). Sucker punch is very useful for aiding the takedown, the other 3 moves are for damage purposes. Focus sash helps to prevent him from getting swept through instantly.

Blastoise @ Leftovers
Abillity: Torrent
EVs: 136 HP/154 Def/220 Sp.Def
Nature: Bold
Haze
Seismic Toss
Substitute
Toxic

This guy is for walling. Haze is to counter dem dern passers, Substitute is to provide this guy who has over 300 in both defenses and over 325 HP a good substitute. Toxic for poisoning, Seismic Toss is good cuz of blastoises low attack stats.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: levitate
EVs: 252 hp/128 def&sp def
Nature: Sassy
Earthquake
Gyro Ball
Stealth rock
Toxic

An annoyer bronzong, gyro ball is good for his awful speed, stealth rock and toxic to mess around some more.

So, rate, and what needs to be improved and stuff, please.

Hitmonlee @ White Herb
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 atk/252speed/4spd
Nature: Jolly
Blaze Kick
Mach Punch
Earthquake
Stone Edge

This guy is my opener. Blaze Kick fares a pretty good move for alot of the pokes i encounter. Mach punch is useful for an instant attack, Stone edge for flying types. this is a sweeper set. The white herb is there to mess with gyrados teams as well as messing up teams that try to screw up his stats. With jolly, his speed is at 300, so he outspeeds a large amount of the competition, and covers a decent amount of types.

Personally, Hitmonlee isn't a very good starter if you are going to be playing in OU. it's not that fast, with Jolteons and azelfs all over the place, and your STAB move, however good, doesn't provide enough power to make a dent in much. If you really want to use hitmonlee as your lead though, equip it with choice scarf and ditch Mach Punch for Close Combat.

i wasnt sure who to use as my opener among him and absol, so yeah... i guess i can transfer some speed EVs and put them into attack and just use choice scarf and close combat.

Personally i lead with Jolteon. If you are trying to find a hard hitting lead, try this

Salamence @ Leftovers
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Intimidate
EV Spread: 252 HP/180 Defense/76 Speed
Moves:
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Roost

Garchomp, eat your heart out. This baby can take on so many opponents, and sweep as well. It can survive a Swords Dance Lucario Extremespeed with ease, tear it apart with Earthquake, and Roost off the damage. Dragon Dance is to boost my mediocre Attack and Speed, and Dragon Claw gets STAB.

A personal thing is i always lead with absol. hes been really useful there. i wanna try someone else, so thats why i have hitmon.

Generally, anything with a Dark resistance and a decently powered neutral attack will defeat Absol. His defenses are poor and can't stand up to most hits for long. Fighting-types with Mach Punch can be a problem—if they get in unscathed—since they can finish off Absol before he gets a chance to attack. Hitmontop works well here, since he has Intimidate to soften the blow as he switches in or Technician to boost Mach Punch's power.
