I've been using this team and testing it out for about a week now and after an initial succesful run, it seems to be picking up a few losses. If anyone could recommend what needs a bit of a change in this team I would be most greatful ^_^.
My Team!
The Lead: Bronzong
Nature: Sassy
Ability: Levitate
Item: Choice Scarf
EV's: 252 HP, 84 Atk, 80 Def, 92 SpDef
Moves: Trick, Stealth Rock, Gyro Ball, Explosion
I have found this poke to be a reliable lead. Main strategy is to trick to give the opponent the choice scarf and gain a nice treat, then stealth rock, then gyro ball. This strategy changes when facing pokes like Azelf and other main taunters, where I start with gyro ball and then switch in order to use Bronzong for tricking later. Not predicting the taunt means I have to switch and main fire using leads (infernape etc) or other steels like metagross will result in me switching
The Wall: Vaporeon
Nature: Bold
Ability: Water Absorb
Item: Leftovers
EV's: 188 HP, 252 Def, 68 Spd
Moves: Protect, Surf, Toxic, Wish
Standard wish support. I can't say I can fault Vaporeon, it's always been one of my favourite pokes and is an absolute pain to take down. Grass knot isn't too much of a threat, the only problem I've had is with Kingdra...but I wouldn't use Vaporeon against it anyway. I will usually sub in vaporeon to popular sweepers such as salamence or a scizor to take the attacks. I will also sub into electric moves so that I can switch electivire in and make use of motor drive. Similarly I will sub vaporeon into water users to gain from water absorb
The Baton Passer: Ninjask
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Speed Boost
Item: Brightpowder
EV's: 176 HP, 252 Atk, 80 Spd
Moves: X-Scissor, Substitute, Swords Dance, Baton Pass
Clear strategy, sub and get as many attack and speed boosts as possible, before baton passing into either lucario or e-vire if the opponent is using electric moves. X-scissor has taken out a few pokes as well which I wasn't expecting at first. The only problem I have with ninjask is the 50% cane it takes from stealth rock, and as I have no rapid spinner, ninjask plays the victim a lot, only being able to get one speed boost before baton passing.
The Physical Attacker: Lucario
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Inner Focus
Item: Choice Band
EV's: 252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Spd
Moves: Crunch, Extremespeed, Stone Edge, Close Combat
After gaining boosts from ninjask, it's pick a move of choice and spam it until a wall is put in place and then i'll switch out. Extremespeed is a great way for me to sweep 2 or 3 pokemon without even thinking. I can't say i've come across a lot of problems with Lucario, I've had a few metagross's switch in but I can easily switch out into vaporeon.
The Second Physical Attacker: Electivire
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Motor Drive
Item: Expert Belt
EV's: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd
Moves: Earthquake, Cross Chop, Ice Punch, Thunderpunch
After a motor drive or a few boosts from ninjask, E-vire can take a lot of what is thrown at him. With the 20% extra increase from the expert belt and the speed boosts, the standard move set covers a huge range of pokes, I particularly enjoy taking out ground, steel and dragons with e-vire but it does have some problems taking out ghosts...but again, I'ld usually switch to something else.
The Special Attacker: Gengar
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
Item: Black Sludge
EV's: 4 HP, 252 Spd, 252 SpAtk
Moves: Hypnosis, Substitute, Shadow Ball, Focus Blast
Quite routine: Hypnosis, then sub up, then either shadow ball or focus blast. Simple. Only problem I have with gengar are if hypnosis misses (which often happens) and then it cant take a hit. But 9 times out of 10 it comes out for me. It outspeeds most forms of rotom so use gengar to sort it out.
Problems I have encountered:
Here are things that I have found when playing with this team that maybe the fault of this team or may just be how good the other teams I've played are:
- Stealth rock problems with ninjask, but otherwise my team is fine
- Machamp that leads and has encore, sub, dynamic punch etc. Usually takes out two or three pokes of mine
- Scizor is a headache, but not anything I can't handle
- Breloom can sweep if I'm not thinking properly
- I have had a few problems with rain dance teams, but I do enjoy it when my bronzong takes their damp rock from them hahahahaha >.>
- Anybody I let stat up for about 6 turns...which believe me, I do sometimes...
Anyway thanks for any advice given ^_^
