Persian (M) @ Normal Gem Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Toxic
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Aerial Ace
Works out wonderfully on my team, one thing i love is that alot of people think its physic, but back on topic, usually it works like this fakeout plus gem equals around on 60% on fighting types, then i can outspeed and KO with Aerial ace and if things get sticky, i toxic than U-turn out
Tauros (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Retaliate
- Stone Edge
- Wild Charge
Reatilate is big part of why hes there, though i dont want to be scarfed because his massive attack and speed are to good to pass up on in my mind
Houndoom (M) @ Fire Gem
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 255 SAtk / 255 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Nasty Plot
- Substitute
Great Special sweeper, that has the ability to switch into any fire attacks, which is great for Breloom With one or two Nasty plots has the capability to decimate entire enemy team, plus hes been one of my favorites for a while. Though he is an UU i believe hes earned himself on the team with the amount of sweeping he has done.
Dragonite (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
Normal dragonite, just doing what he does, Hes a great sweeper and take most hits like nothing. Plus with his great new ability it makes him that much more of a tank
Zoroark (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
My favorite from 5th gen plus, having him disguised as Breloom, always gives me a chance to surprise someone with flamethrower, or the *does not affect * message can outspeed most, and can handle ferrothorn who most players will switch in with breloom out . I dont think he sucks as some people think and though he may be a bit gimmicky i find him well used and with the SP. Attack can do a fair amount of sweeping to people who have no idea whats going on.
Breloom (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Spore
- Focus Punch
- Seed Bomb
- Substitute
Normal Breloom, just with seed bomb for a way to hit ghosts, and pesky water types . Spore is awesome and with posion heal he becomes quite the nuisance. Does great and is worth all the rage quits that happen when people get spore'd
I feel like I rated almost the same exact team a few months ago.
I'm sorry, but this team just feels like it's lacking any form of competitive value. Houndoom is completely and utterly outclassed by both Arcanine and Heatran as a Flash Fire user, Persian and Tauros are terrible Pokemon, Zoroark should not be using Focus Sash (it needs Life Orb), you do not have Rapid Spin support to keep Dragonite's Multiscale intact, and Breloom seems out of place entirely. You also need entry hazards and a dragon resist.
I suggest you just make a new team with those points in mind.
Also, your EVs for Dragonite are really stupid. What in the world are you trying to accomplish?
I know what you meant by unorthodox. This team is different from other teams, and not in a good way either.
Dragon Dance Haxorus I think would be especially problematic. Mold Breaker nullifies Dragonite's Multiscale, and nothing on your team (bar Dragonite, which Haxorus won't attempt to set up on) can do much to it so it can easily set up. Haxorus is very common now due to the recent surge of hyper offensive teams, so this is relevant. You have nothing to resist Outrage, and even Dragonite is getting OHKOed.
Don't say "Breloom can spore it" because any half competent player would know not to set up on Breloom.
Terrakion also has its way with your team, capable of hitting 5 out of 6 of your Pokemon for super effective damage with just Close Combat and Stone Edge.

Well i know there are some kinks, but with Dragonites evs he can live outrages and dragon claws that would otherwise kill him, and With Zoro having a focus sash he can get off at least one hp ice which is easly a 2hko at least

Okay, a Gastrodon. Tauros can't do jack shit to that especially with lol Retaliate. The only way I can kill it is with Breloom's Seed Bomb. I can't safely get Breloom in.

Zoroark is confused!
Zoroark used Hidden Power! It's super effective!
The foe's Tornadus lost 67% of its health!

HP Ice doesn't do enough to KO. While Focus Sash did let Zoroark live the hit, it also weakens it a lot even with Modest.

Even if I had Earthquaked with Dragonite, it's not like it would have actually mattered.
DarkOmega won the battle! Team Thief: gg
Now I do have to admit, the Houndoom set is actually decent. One change though: Use Life Orb, not Fire Gem. With that change, it won't just be decent, it will be amazing. Other than that, I actually see Houndoom having potential on this team and I don't think it should be changed.
Now, as for a Breloom replacement.... It seems to me that you like to use gimmicks in your teams, so I'm keeping that in mind. A gimmicky Pokemon that I can see working in place of Breloom is Unburden Sceptile. Here's the set:
Sceptile is already ridiculously fast, now imagine 339 Speed with Adamant doubled. That's 678 Speed! That's ridiculous. Just get rid of Ferrothorn first, but you can easily accomplish that with Houndoom. Anyway, Acrobatics handles the Pokemon weak to it, which there's quite a few of, and Rock Slide is the preferred coverage move to hit the multitude of Flying-types in OU. You still can't safely get it in, but it's still ridiculous.
Now there are two more Pokemon that I want to get rid of: Persian and Tauros. Persian lead is gimmicky to the point that it doesn't really work. I can't see a Deoxys-S fitting on this team though, and a Forretress or Jirachi lead will attract Magnezone all day long. I personally think a lead Metagross would work. Here's the set:
Metagross @ Occa Berry
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash
- Hammer Arm
- Bullet Punch
Says "Fuck you" right to Magnezone and gives you those hazards you need, and can at the same time give an offensive presence! Oh, and a Steel type. Sounds good to me. Hammer Arm is preferred over Earthquake just because things like to use Air Balloon nowadays.
Now, for Tauros.... I'm just going to give you a Pokemon that does an entirely different job. Gengar. You'll mostly see Gengar as a SubDisable user, but I find this set disgustingly over-used and easily predictable. I see Gengar as more of a "I'm gonna punch holes in shit until I'm dead" Pokemon, so I recommend a Sub + 3 attacks set:
Gengar (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
The idea is simple: Gengar is fast. Fast enough to force switches. So, you substitute on a predicted switch, and attack the switch-in with the appropriate move (i.e. hit Scizor with HP Fire, hit Victini with Shadow Ball, etc etc. and if it's neutral to all moves, obviously go for STAB).
Now, I'd like to change the sets for Zoroark and Dragonite. For Dragonite, try this out:
Dragon Claw so you don't get locked in / confused, Fire Punch to hit Skarmory, and you have Heatran covered already. ExtremeSpeed gives you priority to bypass some scarfers neutral to ExtremeSpeed who might try to revenge Dragonite.
Now, for Zoroark..... Everyone who faces it expects Nasty Plot. No one is going to see this coming:
The EVs look strange, but they serve a purpose: the Speed ensures that it outspeeds Scarf Landorus, the Attack lets U-turn do more damage, and the Special Attack is so you can actually do something. Now, this works differently from the Life Orb set: If you don't think you can KO the Pokemon with the appropriate move, click U-turn. (Make sure Zoroark's Speed IV is 31 for HP Ice)
Hope this helps out. Here's the exportable with all changes applied:
Code:
