ORAS OU Rate please!

I need this team rated so I can be that much closer to an extremely epic team that counters any and all types.
Team is frail.
Doesn't want to run common sets.
Wants to pull from lower tiers to try and find unexpected threats.

Metagross @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Rash Nature
- Iron Head
- Flash Cannon
- Psychic
- Psyshock

The fairy killer and poison removal, I want Metagross to be the bulk of the team. Switch in and take attacks. Cover Goodra's fairy weakness. Cover Sylveon's Poison weakness. That's about it.

Goodra @ Wise Glasses
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Wave
- Thunderbolt

Somewhat copied from my ORAS Goodra, it should be a versatile assassin. I like Sludge Wave for killing fairies, but Goodra is not fast. Thunderbolt for Water-types, Fire Blast for Grass- and Bug-types, and Dragon Pulse for STAB.

Sylveon @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpA
Mild Nature
- Swift
- Quick Attack
- Hyper Voice
- Facade

Because Eeveelutions.
Okay, the dragon killer. I prepared it with Facade in case anyone wants to be a bully and status, and Pixilate to kill even more Dragons!

Celebi
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 224 SpD / 36 Spe
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Psychic
- Perish Song
- Seed Bomb

Arguably the trickiest of them all, Celebi is supposed to be the go-to Water killer. (Or Poison, I guess.) Perish Song would be cool if I had a Arena Trap mon, but I felt there was no space.

Oh boy recover stalling woohooooooooo

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Serious Nature
- Aromatherapy
- Earthquake
- Blizzard
- Focus Blast

The healer of sorts, I want to take advantage of Serene Grace to freeze opponents. (Blissey y u no be fairy)

Typhlosion @ Flame Plate
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Eruption
- Heat Wave
- Fire Punch
- Fire Blast

Gotta love Typhlosion! This is a more sentimental mon than anything (except the ultimate if-all-else-fails weedwhacker) but I do believe I can make use of it to cause destruction. (Even if it's minor! :D)

Rate away, folks.

Hello, BlueDogXL.

I understand that you don't want to use standard sets, but that does not necessarily mean that you make unviable or uncompetitive sets. You can still use standard sets, but perhaps change a move or two to trick the enemy, or lure a Pokemon in. For example, on my Thundurus, I could give it Grass Knot to lure in bulky Rock-types that think they can easily take it out with Stone Edge, but then I could instead OHKO them with Grass Knot. Anyway, onto the rate.

- Firstly, your team lacks a mega, which, in competitive battling, is pretty mandatory, so change regular Metagross to Mega Metagross. Secondly, you seem to be running a mixed set, which is strange, as Megagross has a much better Attack stat, and should be running a physical stat. If you want a good Psychic-type move to deal with Poison-types, you can use Zen Headbutt, but they shouldn't be the major worry if you're using Metagross, as it is immune to their STAB moves. You can also consider running Earthquake to take down Hoopa-U, opposing Metagross, Poison-types that are immune to Psychic and Pokemon that don't resist it. Thirdly, if you want a fast, strong variant of Metagross, you should use a spread of 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed which is pretty much the standard spread for Pokemon like Metagross. Another thing I'd like to say is that I generally dislike having two attacking moves of the same type that have the same purpose. Iron Head is a good move to use, but Flash Cannon isn't, as it doesn't make use of Metagross's high Attack stat, so you could try Bullet Punch, as it gives your team a bit of priority to take out weakened Pokemon. Alternatively, Meteor Mash could be used, but is redundant seeing as you have Iron Head.

- You've got a nice set here with good coverage, but an item like Wide Glasses is easily outclassed by Life Orb and Choice Specs, both of which allow Goodra to deal a lot of damage. I'd opt for Life Orb, as different moves may be needed for different Pokemon, and getting locked in one move gives the opponent an easy chance to predict what's going to happen next.

700.png
- Unless your running the Cleric set, it's generally disliked to use a Sylveon without an item that makes use of its staggering high Special Attack. There's no need for Sylveon to be using Assault Vest as it's fast and needs to be able to kill fast and hard. Without Choice Specs / Life Orb, it can't attack as powerfully as it can with those items, and this makes Sylveon's utility quite limited. Then again, having another user of the same item seems to be redundant, so you could consider getting rid of Sylveon, as Goodra can already tank hits and take out Dragon-types.

- "Perish Song would be cool if I had a Arena Trap mon, but I felt there was no space". Well then, there's no point having it on the set then! I see you're running a defensive set, so you could consider Baton Pass to give Celebi a free switch-out in case the opposing Pokemon poses as a threat for it. Perish Song is redundant on any Pokemon that doesn't have access to a move or ability that traps the opponent, so you should replace it for a move that utilises Celebi's role well, such as Heal Bell.

242.gif
- There's absolutely no reason to use a specially offensive Blissey. There's no reason to even use Blissey in ORAS OU, to be honest. Chansey is much more superior as Eviolite makes it more bulkier than Blissey. You don't need another special attacker anyway, so you have two choices to make full use of this spot. Either put in Chansey, and give it Thunder Wave / Stealth Rock / Seismic Toss / [filler] or use a physical attacker as your team lacks one apart from Metagross.

- Typhlosion is generally outclassed, and if you're looking for a mixed attacker, use Infernape as it has good Attack and Special Attack, as well as high Speed, ranking it slightly higher than Infernape. If you want to keep Typhlosion, don't make it mixed, as it has good Special Attack, so its moveset should revolve around that. Also, you have a lot of special attackers, so there's no need to have Typhlosion.

After taking a look at my rates, and your team, it seems as if your team is an in-game team, which is usually frowned upon by raters in the team, as there doesn't seem to be any guidelines for what's good or bad.
RMT Rules said:
#2. Make sure your team is competitive, and play with your team before putting it up for rate. We as a community want teams that have been battle tested so that the obvious flaws have been hammered out. This is particularly because just by playing with a team, you yourself can figure out what is wrong with your team. You don't need other people to help you quite yet - and to be blunt, you're just being lazy or have the wrong idea of what the RMT forum is if you're posting teams you spent fifteen minutes creating. Make a team, stick with it, play for it for a while, and then come back and ask for help. We’re not going to make perfect teams for you.
Nevertheless, I hope I've helped you with your team. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and if you need help with the tier, visit the CT Room on Pokemon Showdown, the OU Room, the RMT Room, or take a look at the Battling 101 programme.

Changes in short:
  1. Changing Metagross -> Mega Metagross.
  2. Life Orb or Choice Specs on Goodra.
  3. Life Orb or Choice Specs on Sylveon, or replace for physical attacker.
  4. Baton Pass / Heal Bell on Celebi.
  5. Replace Blissey for Chansey, or physical attacker.
  6. Change set on Typhlosion or use Infernape.

Hi there, welcome to Smogon! Unfortunately I'll have to lock this for the time being as your descriptions are lacking and not up to the standard required by the RMT rules. You need to provide in-depth descriptions for each Pokemon to explain your choices and their roles. Please read the rules carefully and take a look at other RMTs and the RMT archive to see the kind of detail and format we require. PM me with updated descriptions and I'll be happy to unlock this.
