RBY PU has recently retiered, greatly shaking up RBY ZU. Primeape, Magmar, Scyther, and Pidgeot have all risen to PU, while Machamp, Wigglytuff, Pinsir, Kingler, Vileplume, and Nidoqueen are now all legal in ZU.
Tournament Rules:
- This is a standard RBY ZU tournament for the new format.
- This is a single elimination tournament.
- Matches will be best-of-three in every round (defined as the first player to win two games; ties are not counted).
- All tournament games must be played on Pokémon Showdown!, defaulting to smogtours if neither player can agree on a server, all replays of all tournament games must be posted, and participants must follow RBY forum rules.
- Furthermore, general Smogon tournament rules, like scheduling and competitive integrity rules, apply as well.
- Activity calls and coinfips will be made at the end of the week and be done by the hosts, potentially with neutral assisitance from an RBY Moderator or Tournament Director. Coinflips will be done publicly on PS!.
- In the event that something is added to or removed from the RBY ZU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.
- Do not harass or insult your opponents. Hosts reserve the right to disqualify anyone breaking this rule. Additional punishments may be applied as necessary.

Standard Clauses / Mods
Species Clause - A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same National Pokédex number on a team.
Evasion Clause - A Pokemon may not have the moves Double Team or Minimize in its moveset.
OHKO Clause - A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, or Horn Drill in its moveset.
Endless Battle Clause - In the event of an endless battle, a draw is called.
Cleric Clause - All Pokemon must have full HP and PP, and not have any status conditions prior to the battle.
Invulnerability Clause - A Pokemon may not have the moves Fly or Dig in its moveset.
Tradeback Clause - Tradeback moves from GSC are not allowed.
Sleep Clause Mod - No more than one Pokemon on each player's side may be sleeping as the direct result of an opponent's move.
Freeze Clause Mod - A player cannot freeze two of their opponent's Pokemon at the same time.
Desync Clause Mod - If a move would cause a situation that leads to battles desynchronizing during a Link Battle on cartridge, the move will fail.
